How to draft a pencil skirt - just 3 measurements with simple steps!

- Dear Sewing Friends, in this video I will share with you how I draft a simple pencil skirt block. Pencil skirt is a great garment to learn about dart and creating a garment that is more formfitting. In this video we will go over measurements and darts and how the construction works. I hope you will join me and explore your sewing and drafting talents!

• Instruction sheets are a step-by-step written instruction on how I drafted this or that project, so that you can follow along. Instruction Sheets are available as a back catalogue, but there are no new Instruction sheets for projects starting with July 2022.
• The templates are ONLY for the small projects, like a basket, or coaster, or towel wrap and etc.
• I have also created sewing reference sheets and practice sheets, as well as sketches that you can use and some small-scale garment parts that you can use to practice "slash and spread" techniques and dart manipulations. Instruction sheets are focused on the drafting process and less on the sewing sequence as that is shown in the video. Sewing steps can be sometimes written out, and sometimes referenced back to the original video.

That's just awful. At the end of the day you're parting with knowledge. People should be thankful because if there wasnt people like you making informative and how to vids, people would be complaining. I couldn't make how to vids and I wouldn't. I couldn't because I don't have the confidence, and I wouldn't because: I'm nasty, and if everyone was nasty and selfish like me not sharing, you wouldn't have videos like this one existing.

Alisa... this world has become so different, so rapidly and I believe that the worst part of this is that people have become so detached from manners, due to the perceived anonymity of social media. People are just nasty sometimes. Please know that plenty of people understand that you can always think of the bits of things they're grateful for and focus on those and then, if you don't have the ability to offer a thank you to another human being, kind and hardworking enough to share their knowledge with us... simply mooove along! People have gotten so used to these garbage shorts videos and reels, that they want all of their information 30 seconds at a time with zero explanation. I’m old school. I learned how to cook and sew and do woodworking from PBS shows. They explained everything just like you do. Keep doing you. Made me chuckle. I have sewn for many years and have had little success in making garments that fit. I had awesome success sewing for others. Wowza! I now have custom patterns just for me. Your explanation of why and how you construct things are so easy to follow. I turn on my iPad and start and stop so I can follow you precisely. That was the BEST “how to sew video” I have ever seen! I work in education and I am all about clear explanations. Most sewing videos have unclear sections, don’t explain WHY we’re doing something or zip through parts. I’m a Beginner so I need a good pace and lots of clarity. You voice, content and manner are all lovely! Clearly you do all you do thoughtfully and put a lot of work into it all. I'm confident that those who feel the need to find non existent issues are dealing with issues of their own and there is zero about any of it you should take personally, good rule for all insults that are always just unnecessary. I'm a big believer in kindness and know well that I get more from being kind than I ever give, it really is it's own reward to be able to make someone smile or be helpful.
