I busted out laughing when I saw her face with the cement on it 😂 sorry for laughing but it was so funny lol I'm so excited to see the inside start. Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
Seasons greetings to you both, a lovely couple you are and blessed with a beautiful family, your hard work and general love of life is a joy to watch, bless you all, happy Christmas from Ireland x
❤️🌲thanks for interesting and funny videos. it has been so much fun following your journey in 2024. Merry Christmas to you and everyone in your wonderful family❤🌲 from🇸🇪
My 10 year old grandson is a good cook. They got him in the kitchen at an early age. His father is the head cook of the family. Merry Christmas from Brookdale, ca
As someone who can't stand marmalade, I fully sympathise with your son and husband. I hope 2025 sees your channel grow in leaps and bounds. I really enjoy watching you.
You guys are amazing you seem to get so much done! I love tuning in to your channel as you all also so positive and loving it's so life affirming. Best wishes for a wonderful Christams with your wonderful family.
Seems to me one solution for Scrumpy might be a visit from the Vet! Since you won't be breeding him, and I'm not aware of any downside, curbing his male impulses seems like a possibility. I don't think it's a painful procedure although I'm not a pig, but I think the earlier it's done, the less intrusive it is to them. Just a thought and I know we as pet owners are reluctant to harm them, but realize it's for the health and peace on the homestead.
We drank a lot of lime juice in Belize. It was pretty much like lemonade, but not as sour. Squeeze 4-6 limes in a pitcher, fill with water and sweeten to your taste. Great way to use up a bunch of limes and really refreshing.
Kayla, you are a very talented cook, really you are a Chief. Kayla you're always making all kinds of yummy delicious, brilliant cooking ideas to make, to stretch your local produce, reduce waste and give your family new taste options to try. The salts you designed, are wonderful and a lovely present for friends and also to use everyday in your cooking too. I love both of them.. Good luck with dividing the boys and girl pigs.
Much hilarity! Loved your improvised instrument Badger! Your mud mask on Kayla not so much. But your kitchen assistants/taste testers were very entertaining! Well done Wilfrid and the rest of the crew! Bit concerned about Scrumpy’s maturation and growing size, he’s already becoming quite a handful. Warm regards (literally) from Victoria, Australia. 💚🐈⬛
Always so happy and excited to see you’ve posted a video! …..does that mean I need to get a life or something?? lol!! 🤪😬🤓🥰….truly do look forward to what feels like a comfy visit with your little family! All best wishes!
Love the life you are co-creating with your kids. The banter, dogs, pigs and all things natural get a huge thumbs up. Your kids are growing up to be a fine looking brood. Congrats on jobs well done ❤
I absolutely love the bitter flavor in foods. I bet the lime marmalade would be good with certain savory dishes like a pork chop or perhaps on ham, but I can’t remember if you guys are veg or not I am so envious of the folks that will be receiving your marmalade for a present! So special.
I have never made lime marmalade but I do like it. I’m not all that keen on the peel, so I get the shredless marmalade. I don’t really like orange marmalade as when I had that years ago they didn’t do a shredless version, might be different now. Nice work Kayla, it’s always nice to be able to use what you get on the land x
can i give you some advice? i had to refill the gaps in a rock wall like you are doing, and i found buying a roll of cake icings bags (large ones and o used then by filling up the bag with plaster and just putting into the joins like icings a cake then smoothing it off with my fingers and a brick pointer, worked well and it was fast, and did a very clean job, give it a go !!!!!!
I look forward to seeing your continued creativity being used inside the stone house. You're the third or fourth family who is renovating a house and their generator has packed it in. Either TH-cam and generators can't play nicely together, or you need a better/bigger generator to do the job. In places, it looks like you have more gaps than wall! Ok, that's an exaggeration, but you know what I mean. Since the fence isn't holding Scrumpy now, will a new fence be worth the effort? Feeling his oats, is he? Is the Eau de Swinette proving to be irresistible? Key Lime Pie? Limeade? Lemon/Lime soda? Iced tea and limeade combo (with sugar, it's really refreshing)
A good week was had by all! Still chasing pigs they are now on a mission everyday to escape! Starting work actually inside the house is very exciting, now we will see progress. No stoppage for weather just steady progress. Have a great Christmas, you all deserve a few days off for the festivities! ❤
I just made 5 fruit marmalade, pink grapefruit, orange, lemon, lime, tangerine. All homegrown It will be sweeter than just lime. Get yourself a thermometer- soft ball stage is 220 F. Takes out the guess work.
I love the honest marmalade reviews-poor Wilfred!🤣It must be nice to be working on the inside of the house again. Love your content and honest refreshing videos. Have a great week. Happy Christmas!
I juice all my abundant lime harvest and freeze the juice. Fresh limeaide most of the year round! Which really helps with my allergies. You can also make olive oil infused with herbs also as gifts.
This was so good to watch. I enjoyed the lime marmalade session, and the childrens reaction to the tasting session.Thank you Beatrice, your reaction saved the day. If limes aren't too expensive- here in, Alberta, I will buy some and make a batch or two. The reactions from your family were hilarious!! I enjoyed the pig extension, just to have Houdini escape again, must be frustrating, perhaps his name should have Houdini in it somewhere, or you could call him the Portugese equivilent of "escape artist". The "pointing" between the new stones was rough, Kayla needed to get her face and eye washed out a lot more quickly than she did. I hope there is no damage or painful reaction. Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and a wonderful happy year ahead.🎆🎄 ✴❄🌸❤
Great progress getting inside work done.. As for the marmalade, it’s tricky .. My husband loves it in all forms, absolutely not for the rest of us except occasionally with strong cheese. Scrumpy may have to face the vet. He is obviously lovely and would be a great pet, just maybe not be the father of the future. Male pigs can become hard to handle as they get older. We always outsourced for our pig. She would spend a little holiday at our neighbours farm then come back with a smile on her face. Have a wonderful time at Christmas.. Enjoy and be happy everyone❤️❤️🐨🐨🦘🦘🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Acredito que a marmelada de limão ficou amarga, por causa da casca do limão, tente fazer sem as cascas. Receitas são assim, as vezes temos que testar várias vezes para dá certo. Feliz Natal família.🌲🌲❤
😂 I thought Kayla was ready to prepare 🐖 for Christmas! Watch out little Scrumpy Please behave ... you're testing the patience of this very delightful Family 🙏 Merry Christmas Scotters and all the Fans across the Globe 🎄🕯🌿
Just love it kid's tell the honest truth,if you make another batch just make lime jelly marmalade with out the bits. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas ❤
That marmalade looked great. But it’s bitter because of the pith. I usually quarter the fruit and soak then bring to boil and leave over night. Then I go through the fruit skins and scrap the pith out and then slice - then do the measuring of liquid/sugar and final boil……. It should stop it having the bitter aftertaste.
Next time you make marmalade, use a vegetable peeler and peel off the rind, try not to get too much of the pith(white stuff under the skin), that’s what is bitter. I make limoncello with any citrus. Again, use the vegetable peeler and take off the just the rind of 6 lemons or limes or oranges. Soak peel in vodka, small bottle, 750ml, and leave for 6 weeks. Strain and add a simple syrup to the mixture. As little or as much as you prefer.
Kayla, you can try making Lime Curd🍋🟩 We had a Christmas Market in our complex and the best selling jam, was the 3 Fruit Marmalade. Maybe you can find a few Lemons and Oranges to add to your next batch😉 Greetings from 🇿🇦
Happy Christmas. You might try the marmalade with some cheese after it’s had some time to age. Cream cheese or cheddar would be my choice. Another idea would be to mix lime and orange. Good luck with the piggy’s. 😊
A great episode; thank you for the further adventures of Scrumpy and his human family! Love the salts and my lime marmalade made a couple of years ago was also too bitter, (and I do love marmalade) so from now on it’s Rose’s lime marmalade for me. I wonder what their recipe is?! Have a wonderful Christmas.🎄
I love that bit of bitterness of marmalade. Wonder if it is how some people hate cilantro, saying it tastes like soap? I’m going to try the salt! Thanks.
🤣 what more could you ask for a Mr. Scrumpy scrumping around a Mr Scrumps 🤔. Also mrs mud face😂 how about making some mud pies 😅 well done with the marmalade just add some honey that will take that sour face😂 off badger 😮 Good work guys the house is looking good, i am looking forward to your next video❤. Merry Christmas, to you all Badger family 🎄🥳🎉🎁🎈🎂❤️
So basically ur saying Scrumpy is a naughty teenage boy ?!? I would 😘 love to taste one of those beautiful limes!! Yummy! 😋😋😋 Fun cooking session lots of fun !!
✨I just L🥰VE the smell of Limes✨ “Soooooo Fresh, your House would be a absolute delight” Lime Marmalade is 😋Delicious the tartness makes it different from Orange Marmalade. That Naughty Little Piggy🐷Scrumpy😂😂😂 🌈🤗🫶🌟🇦🇺

I had some candied Mayer lemons and oranges and the lemon ones were quite sour and the skin very bitter. Maybe remove the skins next time? Or add some ginger for some zing?
I'm wondering if it's the recipe at fault because the white pith is always bitter , most times you boil the skins to get the pectin out then take fruit out and slice off the white leaving just the green bit to slice and put back into the pot, your marmalade will not have the bitter taste 👍👍
I'm wondering if you were to take the pit off of the limes. use just the outer skin and the fruit. It may not have the bitter taste. Something to think about. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year too.
Could you let us know what you're using between the rocks. I've heard you can't use concrete because it will deteriorate the rock. All the pointing I've seen uses some sort of lime stuff. Just asking 😊
I busted out laughing when I saw her face with the cement on it 😂 sorry for laughing but it was so funny lol I'm so excited to see the inside start. Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
😂 it was very funny! 🤣
I love how well and peacefully you both work together! Or are you just showing us the good stuff? Ha!ha!
No definitely not just the best bits think we are lucky we really enjoy working together ☺️
you guys totally give a new meaning to "here's mud in your eye!" lol
The reactions of the children to the lime marmalade were so cute. I think your children are just delightful. Another wonderful episode.
Seasons greetings to you both, a lovely couple you are and blessed with a beautiful family, your hard work and general love of life is a joy to watch, bless you all, happy Christmas from Ireland x

Love that you are back inside the house to work. Stone work looks good. I like the salts you did. I'll have to try that.
My 10 year old grandson is a good cook. They got him in the kitchen at an early age. His father is the head cook of the family. Merry Christmas from Brookdale, ca
That weatherproofing sounds just like a musical saw. I was in a music group once with a guy that played the musical saw. It was a real saw!
Oh wow that’s awesome!
I see Inspector Crumbs gave the approval of the house's progression. Love seeing the lime marmalade and herbal salts in the kitchen!
He sure was there inspecting 😂
Omg I love the kid’s reaction many blessings from North Texas ❤
😂
TGIF! Thanks, Scotters! I'm sure you have made limeade...I like it better than lemonade. That darn Scrumpy will never give up! Happy Holidays!❤️
Wahoo happy Friday!
Yes we have it’s so yummy! 😋
A very Merry Christmas to your entire family!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼✝️✝️✝️✝️🎊🎁

Any other Aussies on here reacting to the board wobbling? 😮
Yes it certainty brings back memories.🦘
"Tie me Kangaroo down sport" played on a Wobble board 😊
🇦🇺🐨🦘
Yes! I remember Rolf Harris playing "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport". We won't go there with his later escapades!
My mind went there but I will not mention his name🦘
I’m not even gonna go there 🤔😱
Love your videos..Have a Wonderful Christmas all of you ❤
Limes were used in navy over a hundred years ago to stop scurvy that's why the Australian guys called the sailors limies

I like lime marmalade I have never made it but like the Roses lime marmalade.
You guys are a very nice family. When I go to Portugal, I would like to see you guys. Meet, I live in the states, but I have family in Portugal.

Please remember to have the existing stones wet before applying pointing mortar.
Many thanks for an entertaining year and wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a great 2025 ❤ from the UK
The lime marmalade tastings made me laugh almost as much as an amorous pig seeing a human’s attempts to keep him from his lady love ❤️
Tye me kangaroo down sport ! X

Lime Marmalade is 😋Delicious the tartness makes it different from Orange Marmalade.
That Naughty Little Piggy🐷Scrumpy😂😂😂
🌈🤗🫶🌟🇦🇺
Oh it’s just the best smell in the world so fresh! ☺️
Get fence first, cute animals second. 😎
🫣😂
I believe you have to soak them to get the bitterness out of the pith. That’s was I’ve been told 😊
Various opinions on the lime marmalade 😂😂😂😂
🫣😂
I have heard that it is the pith (white part of the skin) that gives the bitterness. Cooking is supposed to eliminate it. Maybe simmering it longer, but it sounds like you did that, just a suggestion. I live in Canada so don’t deal with an excess of citrus fruit. Love your family. Thanks for the channel.
Yes good thinking maybe I didn’t do it long enough ☺️
They are called cement pointing bags 👍
Why not try mixing Lime with oranges to soften flavour? A thought ❤
Love ska music. ❤❤❤❤
I had some candied Mayer lemons and oranges and the lemon ones were quite sour and the skin very bitter. Maybe remove the skins next time? Or add some ginger for some zing?
You must make Naartjie marmalade. It’s the best ever. S.A
I'm wondering if it's the recipe at fault because the white pith is always bitter , most times you boil the skins to get the pectin out then take fruit out and slice off the white leaving just the green bit to slice and put back into the pot, your marmalade will not have the bitter taste 👍👍
I wonder what the marmalade would be like without the skins? I wonder if it would be less bitter without the pith?
you didn't come across a wobble board when in aust? cos that is what the flexing metal board is called 😆
We didn’t actually, such a great sound ☺️
I'm wondering if you were to take the pit off of the limes. use just the outer skin and the fruit. It may not have the bitter taste. Something to think about. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year too.
Could you let us know what you're using between the rocks. I've heard you can't use concrete because it will deteriorate the rock. All the pointing I've seen uses some sort of lime stuff. Just asking 😊
