Hi Bruce, thanks for watching. My wheels is attached with an OMP boss and BG quick release. This allows you to connect the horn and the wheel comes with the correct wire/horn button to make it work. Hence I have a working horn and MOT.
Hi the ones I had are no longer made, however these are a good alternative: orranje.co.uk/shop-by-car/bmw-mini/mini-generation-1/gen1-exterior/leap-pi2-r53-mini-scuttle-cowl-vents
It all depends on your budget. Although R53's are thought to be more reliable, they are also a lot older so parts are starting to fail on them from age. Both cars are great, R53 is better out the box but has older tech so is not a nicer place to sit in as the R56. Exterior looks are subjective, I prefer a JCW R56 look to an R53 JCW but thats personal opinion. For either ensure you get good service history and low miles to give you a healthy starting point in either.
@@tweedbean Do you think that by keeping up with the maintenance of an r56 I will be able to have less headaches and enjoy it as much as a more reliable car?
Unfortunately there isn't much you can do with that engine. You can go for an intake, cam's, exhaust and a remap but this won't equate to many BHP gains vs the cost.
So many different variables that could impact the price. I tend to do a lot of work myself so save a lot in labours so this car didnt cost me anywhere near what it would cost someone who paid a company to do everything

How did you get youre grill edge green?
Thanks for watching, we simply masked it off and painted it green
Im looking everywhere for the aero grill but i can only find imitation ones does someone know where to get one?
Have you tried mini? The dealerships sell them, I also be Orranje performance can get them
Nope all out of stock or unavailable....
Hey, what Front Bumper is that ?
Its the OEM JCW/Aero front bumper, with Orranje Performance Brake ducts fitted orranje.co.uk/product/orranje-brake-ducts
That Mini looks great pal.
Quick question, I'm looking to do the quick release wheel. How did you get around the horn? MOT would fail without.
Kind regards
Hi Bruce, thanks for watching. My wheels is attached with an OMP boss and BG quick release. This allows you to connect the horn and the wheel comes with the correct wire/horn button to make it work. Hence I have a working horn and MOT.
Can you give me a link for the top vents above the hood
Hi the ones I had are no longer made, however these are a good alternative: orranje.co.uk/shop-by-car/bmw-mini/mini-generation-1/gen1-exterior/leap-pi2-r53-mini-scuttle-cowl-vents
I think you like green 🤔🤣 Love your mini!!
Ha thanks, I do like green 👍🏼
hey may I ask how tall you are ?
Im looking at buying a mini cooper s like this one
I am 6ft3 and not rlly sure if i can fit in this car
JonasVDV hi I’m about 6 feet and have no issues
Love the color
Thank you
did you have to give up you air con in order to have the fmic? and is your miltek catback res or non res?
Hi thanks for watching. Yes it’s a resonated exhaust. Yes you lose aircon when Notting a fmic on an r53
@@tweedbean thats too bad about the ac. i feel the r53 really needs that fmic but in california i cant go with out ac in my summer car
Would you suggest an r53 over an r56 as a first car that I would like to drive a lot, ideally reliably?
It all depends on your budget. Although R53's are thought to be more reliable, they are also a lot older so parts are starting to fail on them from age. Both cars are great, R53 is better out the box but has older tech so is not a nicer place to sit in as the R56. Exterior looks are subjective, I prefer a JCW R56 look to an R53 JCW but thats personal opinion. For either ensure you get good service history and low miles to give you a healthy starting point in either.
@@tweedbean Do you think that by keeping up with the maintenance of an r56 I will be able to have less headaches and enjoy it as much as a more reliable car?
awesome build
Thanks for watching
I have a completely standard 2005 r53s checkmate. What handling mod would you recommend first apart from coil overs?
Ditching the run flat tyres makes a massive difference
What kind of rings and tires do you habe on your 🚗
Hi thanks for watching, Oz Leggendas 17x7 et37 then a 5 mm spacer on the front to clear calipers. Tyres are 205 45 17
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
what oz wheels are those?
Thanks for watching, they are Oz Leggendas
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the mods btw , but as a joke you should get a john deer emblem. John Deer Edition LOL !!
🤣
I have a 2002 r50 with 54 thousand miles what can I do to make it go faster without a turbo or swapping to an s. Any thing helps thanks
Unfortunately there isn't much you can do with that engine. You can go for an intake, cam's, exhaust and a remap but this won't equate to many BHP gains vs the cost.
Stealth intake or ramair intake?
Stealth everytime on an r53
PINK !!!!!!!
Thanks for watching, I was originally going for a Subaru STi theme, but soon changed that
WOW !!!!
Thank you
How much is the budget to rebuild that kind of custom?
So many different variables that could impact the price. I tend to do a lot of work myself so save a lot in labours so this car didnt cost me anywhere near what it would cost someone who paid a company to do everything
WHOA! Nasty! Well done to you tweedbean & Co
I would like to know tweedbaen if I can put a Strut Braes on my MINI ONE 2010 if you don't mind me asking,
