- After a long few months of winter preps and then straight into Lockdown, it was SO GOOD to get back on track at Brands Hatch!!

After so many years of wanting to own a mini I finally got one! I love it, now I’m trying to watch and learn as much as I ca about my little road devil, thank you for all the content :)
Very nice video! Having also tracked my r53jcw at brands, my biggest issue was heat soak. On that basis I doubt you had 210hp at all times:) I would also recommend perhaps trying one gear up on every corner you ie paddock hill 4th; druids 3rd etc. Otherwise very smooth driving; well done!
Absolutely brilliant, we once had 150,000 of these in the uk. Lets hope they recolonise everywhere.

Best thing you’ll ever learn to do it rev match, should deffo give it a go, helped me a lot on track, stopped the engine braking from loading up the front end too much & the control was all in the brakes instead

Your mini sounds exactly the same as mine, i think it was high intake air temps reducing power they do heat soak even with bigger intercooler

Hi cloe. What’s involved in taking your car to a track day? Summer is coming and hopefully the nice weather too, restrictions are being lifted ( what a strange year we all have had) so I’m curious as to requirements, need’s and kit to take my 53 on a track day just for the experience of it , Ive googled my reg and my 53 has been to brands hatch with its previous owner, however following a few of your mods and upgrade videos I’ve adapted it for more hp and better handling ( powerflex through out )

You can try P-Gear when you racing. That record the details of the data and automatically show up everything on the app.

@@carsandbras2202 Yeah It was at abingdon track day. It was mental quick, he has done a lot of work to it, and running cup tyres! Be good to see you again at one the sprint events. If not, next year!!! I will probably see you at a brands day some point, i might even bring the wifes r53 out instead of the mr2 at somepoint

Interested to know what roll bar you have, seats and harnesses. Also are you running factory brake rotors and calipers, or aftermarket?

Hey Joseph, it’s got the following:
Alta 22mm rear anti roll bar
Corbeau Pro Series Seats
LUKE JCM 5 point harnesses
R56 front callipers with Carbotech XP10 pads and Nitrac 8 grooved discs.
R53 rear callipers with DS2500 pads.
Engine is Alta 17% reduced pulley, Airtec intercooler, Orranje CAI, Canton racing coolant tank. Janspeed manifold to a custom R56 exhaust.
There’s more but that’s the basics 😅
@@carsandbras2202 Hey thank you!!! I am running the exact same braking setup. 2006 Automatic S, 15% pulley, Alta Intake, stock manifold into straight pipe ending with one stock muffler. Sunroof delete, and interior weight reduction (2480lbs after weight reduction).

Hi all I have a 2005 R53 with a 19% pulley, upgraded intercooler and Ramair induction kit. I've had the car about 3 months and I had a sqeek noise from lifting the clutch when. Changing gear from day one. But once warmed up it seems to go. The other thing it sometimes stutters on a hard pull away from a standing position (flooring it) The car is serviced regularly with colder plugs etc. Any advice please

What's the wheels and tires specs? I can see they are rpf1 but can't tell if that's a 16 or 17 inch? And what size are the tires? It looks absolutely bad ass
They’re 16x7j ET35 205/45/15 - literally a perfect bolt on fit without any tweaks

Quickest on track was 112mph at Bedford. On the road....I always stick to the confines of the speed limit and the law 👀

Love the car, but painnnful to watch the hard downshifts. If you're going to spend all that money on track prepping your car, why not learn to heel/toe downshift? Your clutch and car balance will thank you for it.
Its been a sore subject in most cars, I can reach in a narrow formula car but road cars and the MINI would need an adjustable pedal box that's positioned closer. I looked up Tilton in the past but, Ive got more chance learning left foot braking that spending a fortune on new custom pedals, just need more seat time and practice 😄
