Aly has been named captain again, if anyone deserves that honor its her, she's consistent and she help the team hold it together.

They should do a video about the alternates! They worked just as hard and kinda rude to not feature them at all when they're training and travelling with the team and could possibly compete...
Because they're most likely not going to actually be performing at the Olympics. It has nothing to do with them not working hard, this is just focusing on the girls who will be performing in Rio, because like I said those other three girls sadly probably won't perform in the Olympics..
+sunshine11931 Well I as well many others believe that either Skinner or Locklear should've been on that team over Douglas, so for USA Gymnastics not to feature either of them, or even Regan, is pretty pathetic. If Gabby was made the alternate or wasn't even considered like Maggie, do you think USA Gymnastics would let the die down or not do any videos about her? No they wouldn't because her not making the team would gain just as much publicity. And they're apart of the team still since they're travelling with them, and depending on how everyone performs in podium training, we could possibly see an alternate compete. Highly doubtful, but could happen like how it did in 2008.
Marc Myron No, I agree and I don't think Gabby should have made it. Marta was totally playing favorites. Yes, if for some reason a girl doesn't do well doing podium training, one will be there to step up but I really don't see that happening.
get over your bitterness. there's no reason to feature the others. none. and they aren't owed that attention. get over yourself and move on. you're silly and childish.

As someone from the Netherlands, a small country that only has Epke Zonderland (Epic Wonderland, the Flying Dutchman) as a worldfamous epic gymnast, the USA gymnastics team is always wonderful to watch. Truly a joy to the sport.

Jorge Augusto Yeah me too! Both the Wevers sisters are nice to watch as well, a fresh breath of high quality in Dutch gymnastics :P It's also nice that for the first time since 1920 or something, the Dutch women finally qualified for the Olympics as a team. The men as well, so these Olympics will be great to watch for us Dutchies.
But for me, it's always the US team to really look out to :D And also gymnasts like the Russian Mustafina and Komova, or the Romanian Iordache (who sadly won't be competing these Olympics). Those are generally in a league of gymnastics that a small country like ours can't really come up to.

+Suzanne V. The netherlands also have other great gymnasts like Eythora Thorsdottir and maybe you don't know who that is but in Rio you will know because she is so amazing and maybe not gonna win a medal but she is so elegant and artistic she is gonna shine in rio

no. no amanar, unfortunately. but she may not need it. it all depends on how everything shakes out - how other perform, she performs, etc. anything can happen.

really excited for the olympics this time around. i have glanced over past olympic competitions, but haven't seriously watched and followed each competition in the US until last year. it will be a joy to see them perform in Rio watching how much they have grown as athletes and having the knowledge this time around about various skills and the difficulty and proper technique that's required of them. you all are going to kill it!
they're so cool
this team gives me so much inspiration and I'm not even a gymnast. The cool thing as a flute player though is we both lead a similar life in that we need to be practicing hard everyday, no break. Seeing them follow their dreams at the same age as me makes me even more determined to keep following mine. Absolutely love these girls!
Aly- the floor and captain
Laurie-the balance beam
Madison- the uneven bars
Simone- the vault and basically everything else
Gabby- both uneven bars and balance beam
This is probably my favorite team for the Olympics the girls are strong, humble, and seem so down to earth and all are close friends. They all fill each other's missing piece. They all brung something to the team that their gold at and that's what the list is what they are known for. It's a wonderful diverse team an dim so happy they won Gold these girls really deserve it.
Girls just want to have fun. These girls are going to make America very proud. I wish them all the luck.

I am so psyched that Maddie made this team! I have been rooting for her for the past 2 years! I just can't imagine a more deserving gymnast. There are better all arounders on this team, but Maddie works so, so hard and she's just the person to put this team over the top. Go hit that 16.000, Maddie. You deserve some gold for your hard work and sheer awesomeness.

The rights for the trials belong to the USA Olympic committee unlike nationals that belong to USA Gymnastics. Their not allowed to post the only people with rights to post is the USA Olympic committee their TH-cam account is Team USA I think.

Per her Instagram - Maggie is already practicing & sticking her college dismounts and preparing to take the NCAA by storm, LOL.

Alternates. Basically the "b" team. Five girls are announced as the official team but another three were announced as alternates incase someone gets injured.
I'm so sad regan didn't make it. It's ok though. She'll get it next time with her #triptotokyo
