    Thanks,
    Informative as always.
I am an old builder, but a reminder or refresher once in a while doesn't hurt.
I am paralyzed from my shoulders down.
Working with kids that need a big brother to keep them out of trouble.
So it's important to get them building with good fundamentals from day one.
I am always open to new building tips, so keep up the good work !

Many thanks for this very informative video, as a first time builder it answered all the questions I had and some I did not know to ask 👍🏻

Tom, all your videos are amazing. After getting back into the hobby since the nitro days and coming back to all these new systems, you've helped me so much. Do you have a video on flight controllers (gyros) by any chance? I'm thinking about installing one on my Waco.

Thanks for writing. I don't have any current info on flight systems but can tell you the one I am most impressed with and have in my planes is the Aura 8 from Flex Innovations. This is a surprisingly simple system with probably more power than most of us need. I hope to do something on these controllers when I get some time and get to where I can explain them clear enough to produce a video.

Greetings from Germany, your Video is very helpful for my Fokker EI. I looked for a strong rudder, because I try to build scale. I hope you are produce a lot of videos more in future.

Thanks for the speedy reply on the pin hinge gluing. Now I’ve got another question. On most of the rudder installations they say to orient the output shaft toward the fron of the plane. I noticed it looked like you install it toward the rear. My question is there a reason for installing in one way or another. I looked on you tube and some other sites and there isn’t anything consistent. Looking for your thoughts. Thanks again for all your videos

I install the rudder servo in whichever direction gives it the most operating room, primarily with pull-pull systems. Also, we want the rudder servo operating arm to be as close to the same width as the mounting points at the rudder and that often dictates installing the rudder servo in the opposite direction of the elevator servos if they are near by. When the ruder servo is alone I install it in whichever direction gives me the easiest access for assembling the pull-pull cables.

So the wires are supposed to cross halfway?

    • @flyingrcdotnet

Some do, some don't. It depends on how the kit manufacturers place everything. I try to cross them when I wind up with straight runs to the servo arms. But, some kits call for no crossing. Planes will fly either way if you get everything else about the rudder set up right.

The cable is plastic coated. You should remove the plastic because it will slide thru the swage!
