Great informative video as always! Really enjoy watching them and like how much your videos add for all the guys out there like me that love this hobby!
Thank You for making this video I have a severe drilling impairment and this video helped alot I also have this same plane but I will be putting a RCGF 10CC RE Stinger engine.
Thanks Tom. That's what a few others I talked with said they used as far as brand. I just wasn't sure which one. I just ordered a case of 16 oz bottles.
Thanks a lot for this and all other videos on your channel. Really helpful and I like your way of presenting your knowledge. One question: how do you find the center position for the crankshaft on the firewall so that the cowling aligns perfectly with the fuselage?
I know it's a lot of preference. But what kind of Oil do you use for mixing you gas. That's one thing I don't remember you mentioning. Thanks for the great videos. I also like that you sew and woodwork as well I plan to make my own wing Bags as well. Did you make it back to Joe Nall this year? Great job on all of your videos they sure have helped me a lot
Most modern models have the thrust angle built into the firewall so then mount the n=engine square to the firewall. But check! Usually if the modeler is supposed to set the thrust angle they will give that spec in the instructions but checking with the kit manufacturer is always safest.
I hav seagull decathlon 68 inches wingspan. The plane is turning immediately after takeoff. What would be the problem All servos r working in correct direction
Ok, I'm stupid. How do you determine where the beams mount to the firewall? I've only mounted a gas engine with standoffs, never a beam mounted engine.
You're not stupid, the idea of using beam mounts on modern planes is. All,. I could do was to make a simple template from the back of the beam mounts with the engine mounted to them and center that over the center markings on the firewall. Some just have bolt marks but you can connect them and figure a good center point.
Ahh yeah, that makes sense!! Thanks Tom! On a side note, if I would have had the funds at the time, I would have drove up to get that P-51 from you. I'm sure it's at a good home now. Thank you for all the help that you provide...it's really helped me assemble my first arf...a Hangar 9 carbon cub with an RCGF 21cc twin.
You are more than welcome! I love doing this kind of content and will keep it up as long as I can afford to keep the sites running! By the way, the Hangar 9 Cub is a nice plane but it likes a little rudder help, like a Cub! It seems all of the accujrate Cubs like a little rudder help in turns to keep the tail from dragging.
I will be making more content from both RC and yesmensew.com but this is not cheap to do right and I won;t cheapen the products or the process so things might be slow coming until I get more cash.

If the firewall is not marked I guess, then move it to correct. My scientific side in is remission or something.
Thank you. This is exactly what I needed.
Thanks for the information...your a big help...

Do we need to see the thrust angle while fitting the engine thank u

You're doing great sir!
What engine is this? My Hanger 9 twist has the same mounts and I want to put a gas engine on it.
It's an ngh 9cc
Yay!!
