@@Nas_Allie I'm 2 years older than you (27) and I never got to use a laptop at school till like sophomore year of HS. I guess I went to really poor schools cause I see all these people my age talking about how digital their school lives were.

I've been using drawing tablets for over 10 years, not once have I every though about gaming on one. I wonder how a slower game like a RTS or the sims would play on one.
a sim can be quite nice depending on the title, gives a similar experience to using a Tablet but with a larger screen. I mostly use my drawing tablet for rythm games like OSU though.

I have a friend who uses a drawpad to play rythm games on like OSU and he says it works out really qell
I imagine it would feel somewhat similar to using a trackpad like on the steam controller. I have a wacom tablet but too lazy to try myself.
I'd imagine it would work fine with any game like that. RTS or probably CRPG's also.

0:41 Thanks for including the comment. I am using the huion HS610 for most of my editing practice and blender stuff. But seeing there is a game mode made me think why not use it in the games. So I like the work you are doing to show that you can use pen tablet as a mouse in certain games.
There must be something weird with the Veikk drivers, I used to game with an XP-Pen tablet in mouse mode and it worked perfectly; I could turn in a full 360 and it wasn't acting like a joystick. Of course it was still pretty hard to game with a drawing tablet and you lose the scroll wheel, but still it was pretty fun.
I think it depends on the game. Every game treats it a bit differently.
@@Gatorade69 Idk, I was playing Apex, Roblox, Valorant, Unturned, TABG, Minecraft, Fortnite, and other games like that and I never had any issues. If I didn't have it on mouse mode it would be weird like in this video, but when set to mouse mode there were never any issues it just worked like a mouse. That's why I thought the Veikk tablet drivers were probably being a bit weird and not doing mouse mode properly. He could try using something like OpenTabletDriver instead, which I also used and didn't have any issues with.

@@comradeklaymore cause it's David the lizard and he's doing all sorts of stupid things for content. I didn't think that real humans would do something like that for longer than a few minutes AND find it to be any fun. Tried it personally in cs go, my character went spinning very fast every time I tried to do anything so I never tried it again

For osu, you have to press Z or X on the keyboard to tap or hold on the circles. You use the mouse or pen for just moving, no tapping. In the settings, you can disable mouse/pen clicks during play mode to prevent accidental tapping

The osu segment was incredibly funny, even if it isnt for you i hope you were able to see how a tablet could make for a better input device than a mouse in that game in particular
Just my type of video…where has this been all my life? it’s been so long since OSU pft -EDIT:OMG WAIT I PREDICTED IT (legit commented when I saw the beginning and only then did I realize you included OSU…let’s be honest it wan inevitable…the games made for this after all!..definitely a process to play.. sometimes more like Rhythm Heaven/DDR/Guitar Hero to the MAX ✍️💫)

I've personally been using a drawing tablet for gaming for about 2 weeks now and it's been great, sure there's a learning curve but when you get over it, it gets pretty comfortable and fun to use. I haven't gotten used to FPS games yet, although I don't play them I do plan on starting playing something like CSGO or Valorant.

In 1994, I used a small Wacom ArtZ pad and pen to play Doom. Pretty much the same deal as here.
Dawid, you should revisit 2017-2019 gaming hardware. I5 6500 go for 15-35€ and gtx 1060 3gb goes for 60-90€ in the used market. Compare those to 6400 6500 area cards. You could build a solid pc with 200-230€ (case only ofc).
Better just go Haswell, cheap Xeon E3 1240 v3 are still available and any OEM office build will take them. That era hardware has PSUs that are still standard ATX and replaceable. Overall it's cheaper and much better than Skylake. Skylake motherboards and such will be competitive in price/performance when someone figures out how to get Chinese LGA 1151 mutants like the QTJ2 working on those office/OEM boards.

@@Dracossaint Yes, yes they are. They share the CPUID of the i5 and i7 of the same generation (i5 4xxx) and are included in the same microcode. They are plug and play for pretty much any OEM system - Dell, HP, Lenovo, you name it. That's true for Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge and Haswell Xeon E3. At Skylake, you need to mod the board and add the micro codes yourself.
@@Dracossaint yes, but getting a Haswell OEM systems and putting a Xeon in is still cheaper. You'd likely replace the PSU on both systems anyway. Once you go to Coffee Lake, the PSUs become weird form factors and shit too, so it gets even worse

Next time, try playing using trackball, the one you operate with your thumb. I've tried it, and it was interesting.

I play FPS games with a graphic tablet and all games are always in mouse mode and Osu in tablet mode. When u tried BFV in mouse mode and it still didn't work seemed like a shitty tablet, to be honest. I tried Wacom and XPpen and both work with no issues. For Wacom, u can set up sensitivity and for XPpen u sadly have to bump up sensitivity in the game to like 60.

My son uses my drawing tablet to play a game called Osu it's pretty crazy to watch.
"It's a very hit-or-miss process" being used to describe driving via pen while the car is ramming into things is just funny on multiple levels.

I've played plenty of FPS games on a macbook trackpad (i'm sorry you had to read that sentence) and I feel like I had a way better time than you did with this huge tablet and pen. Sure, it's no mouse, but I'd pick a trackpad over a controller any time.

Pretty cool. I work with some disabled gamers some of whom could possibly use this as an access method. I wonder how it would go with an eye tracker plugged in as well?

That Half-life 2 showcase is pretty much exactly what it looks like when I try to play with a game pad instead of a mouse xD Just teeny tiny movements around my intended target, then I get impatient and push a little harder on the thumb stick and I just spin uncontrollably 😂
For me my original play through was on my laptop and not long ago I was playing it with a combination of gyro and touchpad on my steam deck and docked with a ps4 controller….it feels fine…

One of my favourite things about owning a drawing tablet is using it on Minecraft and being sent to the shadow realm
i use similar tablet for playing fps games. It reqires some practice but its good.
