- This is the second and final installation of this video series comparing the two brand of smaller tractor mounted stump grinders. Baumalight and Woodland Mills.
Great video thanks for making it shopping for a grinder and interested in both of these, great comparison video.
Yeah, they are very similar, when I got mine they were the same price and I didn't know they were made in different locations, but I got the Baumalight because TTWT's discount code made it a touch cheaper at the time. Now the Baumalight is a good bit more pricey. Although, I think I would make the same decision again, knowing what I know now, I can't fault someone for buying the Woodland Mills, they are now a great deal cheaper, I think $2750 to your door, where the Baumalight is around $3500 I think. Over 2 years ago, the Baumalight was $2450 to my door. Thanks for watching.
Good to see the comparison on video. I enjoyed seeing the differences between them in person as well. They both really seem to work well for their size and price point. I've got to get one!

Did you measure from the bottom 3 point pin to the cutting wheel? I'd say being back a few more inches is a great benefit. The baumalite scene you had your wheels running over the dirt piles more when backing up.
I'd really hope to have a grinder someday.
They are great machines for sure, very handy and work out as pretty decent ballast too. Yeah, i think it being back further has advantages for balalst weight and reach, but it also isn't as compact if you need it in tight spaces. Thanks for watching.

is having the slip clutch adjusted to tight the cause of the woodland mills grabbing and jumping after you adjusted the clutch? my baumlight does allot of jumping around.
So I did not fine tune the clutch, I just tightened it to get it done quick because it was so slippie before. So after I adjusted it, it really wasn't adjusted, it was just tight. My Baumalight will jump around too, but usually when I'm over the top of a stump, not on the side. I like how the Woodland Mills works, i think it works pretty good too. Thanks for watching.
I am looking for a stump grinder now, I have dozens of stumps and new trees planted all around.What are you using for a hydraulic top link? Id prefer not to buy China. Also is the extra weight a benefit?Thanks for the videos!
So I ended up with a Chinese top link, shame on me for not doing more research. However, there are very limited options fo the size of top link I ended up getting, so the Grizzly one I got may have been the only one to get. I know Prince is usually an American hydraulics supplier, but I don't think they had one for that size. Now you don't need a hydro top link for a stump grinder, it just makes it a lot easier to navigate the work. I'd shop used if you can. Since I bought my stunp grinder, Woodlands have dropped a little in price and Baumalights have increased quite a bit. Both are good, but the Woodlands is Chinese for sure, I checked and they responded with that info directly. I do actually like the design of the Woodlands a little better because of the higher kick stands makes it easier to drag over stumps and it is heavier. Long-term longevity, I can't say. @@btripodina70 You are welcome, keep watching Marketplace and CL for good used deals, they do come up from time to time. If you buy used, inspect teh teeth carefully. You can buy new ones and they are reasonably easy to replace, but they are a little pricey, so factor that into your used price.
