So points for that.
Dance of Death? Ughhhhhh I hated that one so much. I went back and tried again and it's not doing it for me. Brave New World was great and then I felt like everything afterwards was disappointing.
1 - tales from the thousand lakes by Amorphis 2 - Wyrd by Himinbjorg 3 - Atlantis Rising by Manilla Road 4 - LandawarijaR by Helheim 5 - Blot by Einherjer 6 - fly on the wall by AC/DC 7 - Beyond the north winds by Sig:Ar:Tyr 8 - Thunderforge by Skyforger 9 - Heartwork by Carcass 10 - Heimgang by KAMPFAR That’s my list. I love that you mentioned Ride the Lightning. One we played so much as kids…and Escape is one of my favorites from them 👍 cool list Sir, cheers ☕️
@IntercactusYKW They are one band I thought of picking so many different ones. So many favorites from them. Atlantis Rising, Voyager, Open the gates, Mystification, The Deluge, Courts of Chaos and Spiral Castle! Ahhh yeah, one of my favorite bands. Rock on 🤘
Great to hear you always give SYL City love it's one of my favourite albums of all time, a few I can think of are Rammstein - Mutter QOTSA - Songs for the Deaf SOD - Speak English or Die Gorjira - From Mars to Sirius Slayer - Reign in Blood NIN - Pretty Hate Machine Portishead - Dummy Wilderun - Veil of Imagination
Nice video. A few that come to mind for me is: KSE- As Daylight Dies and The End of Heartache In Flames- Clayman A7x- (All albums from) Waking the fallen to Nightmare Trivium- Ascendency, Shogun and In the Court of the Dragon (I'll admit the last is a weird take but I love every song on there) All That Remains- The Fall Of Ideals OM&M- The Flood Shokran- Duat Death- Symbolic Polaris- Fatalism Necrophagist- (Both their albums) Onset of Putrefaction and Epitaph Megadeth- Rust In Peace (I generally don't like them but love this album because of the guitar work) Also I agree with the Blackening for machine head. Locust was also another one for me personally. There's definitely tons I've missed but these are a few that I thought of.
A couple of mine are: Mercyful Fate - Melissa King Diamond - Abigail At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul Slayer - Show No Mercy Wraith - Undo The Chains Natur - Head of Death D.R.I. - Thrash Zone
Tool - lateralus Pantera - vulgar display of power / far beyond driven, great southern trendkill In flames - jester race, clayman Gojira- from mars to Sirius Korn- life is peachy Marilyn Manson - holy wood , antichrist superstar System of a down - discography Slipknot - self titled, Iowa Black sabbath- black sabbath, paranoid , masters of reality
Here’s the thing about Iowa, I can’t listen to the title track 😂 i get the point of it and yea corey’s vocals are some of the most brutal he’s ever done but, I skip right to that part where he’s goin off at the end
Great picks. If I were to come up with 10 off the top of my head, in no particular order: Melvins - Hostile Ambient Takeover Strapping Young Lad - SYL Alice in Chains - Dirt Black Sabbath - Master of Reality Fear Factory - Obsolete Pissing Razors - Fields of Disbelief Queens of the Stone Age - Rated R Superjoint Ritual - Use Once and Destroy Vader - De Profundis Hatebreed - Perseverance

Some great picks there mate. Love Rancid!! Think they are definitely underrated as songwriters and musicians. Was playing Victim in Pain the other day. Great album. As for Metallica, I could do no skips on RTL, MOP or AJFA. The Real Thing would be my Faith No More perfect album. Some of my other picks would be Toxicity, Seasons in the Abyss, Helloween's Walls of Jericho, Automatic for the People, Plastic Surgery Diasters and If i should fall from Grace with God. ..and lots more. Cant wait for your part 2
YES MY DUDE!! Funny you mention Angel Dust as I’d just finished listening to that before viewing this video. Damn right too, brilliant record. No skipperoos indeed. I’ll chuck a few at you pal: Ministry - The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf Mark Lanegan Band - Blues Funeral David Bowie - Blackstar Therapy? - Troublegum Mansun - Six Great video pal MERRY FUCKIN’ CHRISTMAS YES MY DUUUUUDDEEEE!!!!
This is the first time I've ever heard anyone mention Troublegum. Every time I've asked about Therapy? people always look at me like... I need therapy(?) [A joke yes, but in all sincerity]
Cure - Disintegration Pearl Jam - Ten Eagles - Hotel California AC\DC - Back in Black AIC - Dirt Metallica - Master of puppets Judas Priest - Painkiller I know not all are heavy but just off the top of my head front to back albums
Fear Factory - Demanufacture PJ Harvey - To Bring You My Love Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time Paradise Lost - Draconian Times A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory Anthrax - Among The Living Agree about Ride The Lightning and Angel Dust being perfect. Will check some of your others. This has reminded me that I used to want to check out Poison Idea after hearing the Macine Head cover of Alan's on Fire. Much easier to do these days, so I will.
I clicked on this video just to see how long it would take you to mention City ;) But that would definitely be on my list too. Other contenders for me would be Primus' Brown Album, Silverchair's Neon Ballroom, Crowbar's Odd Fellow's Rest, Melvins' A Senile Animal, among many many others. Great list!
Having watched the channel knew this one was coming. It's just pure classic. Oh My Fucking God is a go to for me to blast in the house when having a bad day.
Nice to see someone giving love to Poison Idea, one of my favourites for sure😁 My 10 are: Poison Idea - Feel The Darknes Faith No More - The Real Thing Faith No More - Angel Dust Agnostic Front - Victim In Pain Sepultura - Arise Biohazard - Urban Discipline Cro-Mags - The Age Of Quarrel Clutch - Transnational Speedway League Sick Of It All - Just Look Around Monster Magnet - Superjudge I could choose so many more, these do get played a great deal though. Have a fantastic Christmas
I'd go with: Deep Purple-Burn, Deep Purple-In Rock, Slayer-Reign In Blood, Metallica-Master of Puppets, Yes-Close to the Edge, Living Colour-Vivid, Venom-Welcome to Hell, Black Sabbath-Master of Reality, Celtic Frost-Into the Pandemonium, Queen-Queen II. I'm probably a decade older than you, so that makes a difference in terms of bands I picked. Will definitely have to try the Poison Idea album. Thanx!
Firstly, it's fantastic to see you back doing TH-cam man. You were missed. I hope you have a great Christmas & that 2025 is your best year yet, you deserve it man 👍🏻🙂 So here's my 10 perfect albums: (so far*. In no particular order*) Gojira: Le'fant Sauvage. Hatebreed: Concrete Confessional. Machine Head: The Blackening. Status Quo: Can't Stand The Heat. Lamb Of God: Sacrament. MCR: The Black Parade. Crypta: Shades Of Sorrow. Metallica: Master Of Puppets. Foo Fighters: Wasting Light. Gary Moore: Wild Frontier. That was very difficult to do 😂
For me: Cynic - Focus Fields of the Nephilim - Elysium Iron Maiden -Somewhere in Time Killing Joke - Killing Joke Chelsea Wolfe - Abyss Godflesh - Streetcleaner Recent: Ulcerate - Cutting the Throat of God
I had a hard time with Elysium, mainly because of the shitty production, but Ive recently taken it into my DAW and played around with the levels, upping the middle and treble, and it's a much better listen. I did the same with The Nephilim. I would highly recommend it.
@@rubysoffner4557 its a bit flat. bringing the treble up lets the guitars really shine through. i have bang and olufsen H6 and akg k371 headphones. it sounded like fart through them both until i EQ-d it.
Hey man, I thought before starting this video, having watched some in the past. He's going to mention Mastodon - Crack The Skye (one of my all time faves) and sure enough the first one mentioned. Can't get enough of that album myself too
In chronological order of release. Until I put this list together, I’d forgotten what a great year for metal 2005 was! Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time (1986) - Maybe not the most obvious pick for Iron Maiden, but his album is relentlessly epic from start to finish and never breaks character. Voivod - Killing Technology (1987) - I could fill half this list with Voivod albums, but Killing Technology is my favourite. There’s not one single dull moment on this album, not even the minute-long intro of mechanical noises and beeps, which just sets the scene for what’s to follow perfectly. Skyclad - Jonah’s Ark (1993) - All of Skyclad’s first six albums are great, but the level of creativity and variation between songs on this one is off the charts, and it all works brilliantly. The Cult - Beyond Good and Evil (2001) - The Cult have been one of my favourite bands since way back around when ‘Love’ came out in 1985 (when I was 13), but all of their previous albums have at least one or two sub-par tracks, in my opinion. Not so here. Every song is a banger. Also their heaviest album. Dark Tranquillity - Damage Done (2002) - Every song on this album would be an absolute stand-out on any other album. Just insanely good and incredibly consistent. Yyrkoon - Occult Medicine (2004) - No dobut the most obscure pick here; this probably isn't on a lot of people’s radars. Just a perfect, dark, punishing and heavy-as-hell slice of immaculately crafted, lovecraftian death metal from this now-defunct, underrated French band. My favourite death metal album outside of the tech-death and melodeath subgenres. Candlemass - Candlemass (2005) - As with Voivod, there are several Candlemass albums that could have been on this list, but the consistent god-tier quality of song-writing on the self-titled album wins it the prize. Grand Magus - Wolf’s Return (2005) - This was the album on which Grand Magus really found their sound, and also the one where they nailed the atmosphere of the music the best. This album consistently has a feel that really transports me into the narrative of the songs. Arch Enemy - Doomsday Machine (2005) - This is where Arch Enemy peaked, in my opinion. This is packed with monstrous riffs and just showcases so much of what makes metal great. Obscura - Diluvium (2018) - Obscura absolutely perfected the sound world they’d been building up with the previous three albums, here. Gripping from start to finish. I don’t have much more to say.
Yes!! Ride the Lightning is my favourite album by Metallica. Delighted to see Rancid and Faith no More here as well. I actually have very few perfect albums, I tend to focus in on a few favourite songs even if I like the whole album, but the last two albums by Unleash the Archers (“Abyss” and “Phantoma”) are what comes to mind. I regularly listen to them start to finish.
Type O Negative - The Origin of the Feces Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses Type O Negative - October Rust Type O Negative - World Coming Down (can see why they're my favourite band now eh) Fear Factory - Demanufacture Bolt Thrower - The IVth Crusade Cannibal Corpse - The Bleeding Carcass - Necroticism - Descanting the Insalubrious Metallica - Ride The Lightning Meshuggah - Contradictions Collapse Meshuggah - Destroy Erase Improve Cattle Decapitation - The Anthropocene Extinction Fields of the Nephilim - The Nephilim Slugdge - Esoteric Malacology Quite a few others, but those sprang to mind.
Some of mine are: Mental Vortex - Coroner Symbolic - Death Ocean Machine - Devin Townsend Defenders of The Faith - Judas Priest The Etheral Mirror - Cathedral Kill 'em All - Metallica Exercises in Futility - Mgla From Mars to Sirius - Gojira Blackwater Park - Opeth Cryptopsy - None So Vile
for me , some of them are show no mercy - slayer 10000 days- TOOL Kid A -radiohead metropolis pt-2 , images and words by dream theater damnation, ghost of perdition by opeth wish u were here,DSOTM by pink floyd avenged sevenfold(self titled),nightmare rust in peace - megadeth Ride the lightening - metallica round the sun - mastodon master of reality - black sabbath somewhere in time , powerslave - iron maiden court of crimson king - king crimson blizzard of oz - ozzy osbourne hybrid theory - linkin park machine head - deep purple kandisa - indian ocean
This is the first time i see a Poison Idea shout out in forever. Very underrated band and one of my favorites. Feel the Darkness is perfect, also that front of the album with that Tiny Tim pic is just legendary.
Dammmn, when you said "perfect album/0 skips", literally the first thing that came to mind was Crack the Skye.. I think that album was on repeat more than any other in my whole music library, such a brilliant piece of art..
Badmotorfinger, Appetite for Destruction, Purple by STP, Master of Puppets, Sacrament by Lamb of God, Rust in Peace, Reign in Blood, Powerslave, Vs by Pearl Jam, BSSM by RHCP, Vulgar Display of Power, Nevermind, Dookie, Ixnay on the Hombre by The Offspring, Avenged Sevenfold Self Titled, Highway to Hell, Scream Aim Fire by BFMV. To me, these are just perfect albums with no skips and where I love every song. These are just ones that came to mind straight away and I only did one album per band or Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, and The Offspring might have gotten 2 albums. Master of Puppets is not my all time fav album to listen to but I think it is the greatest thing any band has ever done. My most played album of all time is Appetite for Destruction.
Happy Christmas! Love that your channel is going so well. Here's to a big 2025 for you. Great video. The perfect metal albums that immediately jump out for me are Rust In Peace & Countdown by Megadeth, Burn My Eyes - Machine Head and the two albums I still listen to on an almost weekly basis, Wiseblood and Deliverance by CoC. I just can't find a better vocalist for my ears than 90s Pepper, bluesy, soulful and on top of the best Sabbath-esque riffs since Sabbath but with the added New Orleans magic. Plus Reed's drumming adds a swing to the formula. He's hugely underrated. Cracking stuff!
I’d seen Mastodon a few times live before that album but I’d never bought one of their albums before this release and my brother got me the album for my birthday. From that moment on I’d discovered my new favourite band. Incredible.
Ashes Of The Wake by LOG, The Bleeding by CC, A Blaze In The Northern Sky by Darkthrone, Monolith Of Inhumanity by Cattle Decap, None So Vile by Crytpopsy and The Sound Of Perseverance by Death are some of my picks
Opeth - Blackwater Park Death - The Sound of Perseverance Judas Priest - Painkiller Black Sabbath - Master of Reality Mastodon - Crack the Skye Metallica - Ride the Lightning Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger Alice in Chains - Alice in Chains (I could say Dirt but I always skip "Sickman") Cannibal Corpse - The Bleeding Emperor - In The Nightside Eclipse
I always feel so uncultured when I see people dote on sound of perseverance… it’s my least favourite death album. In saying that, the margin between my favourite and least favourite death album is pretty narrow…
@AntEF85 I love all Death albums and I don't skip any song in all of them, but TSOP is my absolute favorite so that's why I chose it. Despite that, I understand why some people don't like TSOP, it's the most different Death record, kinda sounds like a different band. You're not uncultured, you just have a different preference
...And Out Comes The Wolves is in my top ten easily, I'm surprised that it's in yours too, nice one, I'm a metal head to the core but this one is a gem, also seen them live a few times, have it on CD, Cassette and Vinyl. FNM too what an album, got to see them on The Real Thing tour back in the day in Dublin.
Here are some albums I listen to from Beginning to End: Sonata Arctica- Ecliptica Slipknot- Self-Titled Metallica- All first 4 albums Sonata Arctica- Reckoning Night Dream Theater- Images and Words Fear Factory- Demanufacture All Pantera albums with Phil Anselmo System Of A Down- Toxicity Korn- Self-Titled Slipknot- Iowa Dream Theater- Awake Trivium- Ascendancy Trivium- Shogun

I’m hooked on Poison Idea now. Thank you! Tool - lateralus Behemoth - the satanist Slayer - seasons in the abyss Mastodon - crack the skye Led Zeppelin - 2 Metallica - ride the lightning Dream Theater - train of thought At the gates - slaughter of the soul Opeth - still life Primordial - to the nameless dead
There are some great choices here. These would be mine: 1. The Great Southern Trendkill - Pantera 2. Ashes of the Wake - Lamb of God 3. Still Life - Opeth 4. Lateralus - TOOL 5. Blackwater Park - Opeth 6. Ænima - TOOL 7. Dirt - Alice in Chains 8. When the Kite String Pops - Acid Bath 9. From Mars to Sirius - Gojira 10. Crack the Skye - Mastodon
Well done for being able to name just 10! For me, when perfect albums come to mind, I have GnR Appetite for Destruction, Opeth Ghost Reveries, Queen The Miracle and Maiden Seventh Son. Also cannot go past The Blackening and Crack the Skye. Merry Xmas and a happy new year to you good sir!
A really cool guy you are I’ll give all of these a listen! I recently just got into metal music in June/July from Fortnite thanks to Metallica collabing with them and I’ve been branching out to all types of music! You seem to have badass taste so I’ll definitely give these a listen Merry Christmas to you too!
Welcome to the addiction. Like what you like and never apologize for it. If someone tries to be a gatekeeping dickhead, tell them to piss off. There is so much good in the genre and community, don't let anyone ruin it for you.
I'm into my 25th year of sobriety and during the last few years of my bacchus worshiping I listened to a lot of heavy metal and hard rock. After I sobered up, those years were kind of foggy and I hardly remembered what exactly I'd been listening to. I actually had put all my cd's into boxes and hid them away. Ten years ago I gained interest in metal again and when I saw you mention "Angel Dust" I got some sort of deja vu. I found it on Spotify and it turns out I know it almost tone by tone. So I was definitely listening to great music back then and I wonder what other treasures may lay hidden down in my basement.
My top 5 no skips 1. Master of Puppets 2. Rust in peace 3. Vulgar display of power 4. Justice for all and ride the lightning 5. Appetite for Destruction
off the top of my head: Candlemass - Nightfall At The Gates - Slaughter of the soul Him - Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666 Paradise Lost - Icon Draconian - Arcane Rain Fell Katatonia - Tonight's Decision Agalloch - The Mantle Woods of Ypres - Pursuit of the Sun & Allure of the Earth
Loving your vids man! Metallica and Rancid totally agree with. A few albums on here I haven’t heard but will definitely be checking out over the festivities while guests/family/in laws are doing my nut in. Merry Christmas and keep up the top work!
I just recently found the channel. Love your opinions on music. Just like all things in life, some I agree with and some I don't. Hope you and yours have a great Holliday and can't wait until the next video.
I have a Puppets backpatch on the battle jacket for obvious reasons, 14 when i heard it back in 88.. It'll always be the life changing album. But if i had to put another backpatch on it it would be Angel Dust!!
Brilliant picks from your list. It's always engaging to make album lists like these to continue the favouritism of why they are impactful and inspiring. Also, the audiences grow more of the fun to share the discussions. I would like to think about making videos like this for those reasons. Great video, Ben.
Music is so highly subjective that it’s tough to get a list like this without getting a lot of criticism but that’s part of the fun isn’t it? There’s a reason bands put out greatest hits compilations, it’s just seems like it’d be incredibly difficult to have the type of inspiration to produce that type of quality material in a relatively short period. I couldn’t agree more on Crack the Skye, City and The Blackening. Those three albums are relentless, just hit play and lay back and enjoy! There’s a few albums for me that fall into that category; Gojira’s From Mars to Sirius, Fear Factory’s Demanufacture and Obsolete, Pantera’s Far Beyond Driven, and Lorna Shore’s Pain Remains.
Venom - Welcome to hell King Diamond - Fatal Portrait Van Halen - VH 1 Exodus - Bonded by blood Twisted Sister - Under the blade Metal Church - Metal Church Iron Maiden - Killers And a Belgian band from my hometown who only released one album but It's all killer in my opinion. BLACK WIDOW - Streetfighter
My perfect 10 albums (in no particular order)… Conspiracy - King Diamond Apocalyptic Revelation - Krisiun Mortal Throne of Nazarene - Incantation Dawn of Possession - Immolation The Red In the Sky is Ours - At the Gates Disturbance - Hour of Penance Path of the Weakening - Deeds of Flesh Into the Grave - Grave The Ten Commandments - Malevolent Creation Goat - Nunslaughter
Happy too see Poison Idea Feel the darkness and Agnostic Front Victim in Pain thrown in there love those 2 albums and Faith No More Angel Dust all the other ones are awesome albums as well especially Alters of Madness and Heartwork. And i would agree Ride the Lightning has become my favourite album of Metallicas as well not so much back in the day but appreciate it alot more as im getting older i guess.Merry Xmas Bud!
Love your list. Mastodon Crack the Skye, Metallica Ride the Lightning, Machine Head The Blackening and Heartwork by Carcass are all albums I truly love. I consider each a 10/10 and I'd have a few of those in my top 10. My top 10 in no particular order would be: Iron Maiden- Somewhere in Time Iron Maiden- Seventh Son of a Seventh Son Slayer- Seasons in the Abyss Metallica- Ride the Lightning Mastodon- Crack the Skye Cattle Decapitation- Terrasite Misery Index- The Killing Gods Mors Principium Est- Dawn of the 5th Era Lamb of God- Sacrament Pantera- Vulgar Display of Power I could add 20 other albums in short order and argue with myself all day about this topic, but these are the first 10 that came to my mind.
@@laasland40oz I know a lot of fans say that but I love that album. Probably because Walk with me in Hell is my favorite LOG song. Every time they play that song the mosh pit goes crazy.
Tool-Aenima, Trivium-Shogun and Ascendancy, Marilyn Manson-Antichrist Superstar, Rammstein-Mutter, Type O Negative-Life is Killing Me, Opeth-Blackwater Park and Damnation, Blind Guardian-A Night at the Opera, Metallica- And Justice for All
Dissection - storm of the light's bane Swallow the sun - the morning never came Ghoat brigade - isolation songs In flames - the jester race Old man's child - the pagan prosperity Disillusion - back to times of splendor
Death - Scream Bloody Gore Immortal - At the Heart of Winter Mgla - Age of Excuse Asphyx - Necroceros Cro Mags - Best Wishes Cyclone - Brutal Destruction Token Entry - Jaybird Disfear - Live The Storm Sacred Reich - Ignorance Death Angel - UltraViolence Addmittedly these are the last 10 albums I have listened to but I didn't feel the need to skip any song on any album so they must be all perfect.
Gotta agree with ...And Out Come the Wolves. It set such a high water mark for pop influenced punk that it still hasn't been topped. Just throw it on and walk away. I haven't listened to all of the albums on your list, but I kind of want to now. Some more for me as I think of them: Archspire - Bleed the Future (Tech death with... melodies? Memorable song structures? WAT?) Minor Threat - Complete Discography (Does this need an explanation?) Hypocrisy - End of Disclosure (Just a wall of bangers. You're FORTY FOOOOOOOUUUUURRRRR DOUBLE ZERO) Chat Pile - God's Country (Living in the same kind of low-tier wasteland as Oklahoma City, where these guys are from, this album hits as hard as Napalm Death's early shit did in certain parts of England) Mummy the Peepshow - Electric Roller Girl (If you like anything about The Pillows, Shonen Knife, or Japanese indie pop from the 90's and early 2000's LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM) Twin Tribes - Monolith (Two dudes from south Texas making the best fucking gothic/darkwave music out there right now) Cannibal Corpse - Violence Unimagined (There may not be a standout, but there's nothing bad on this album) Idles - Ultra Mono (I really hope they're not in the process of disappearing up their own butts) Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska (Bleak as Chat Pile, slightly further north) Bolt Thrower - War Master (The fuck needs to be said?)
I’ll give a couple of random for me Lizzy Borden Visual Lies, Warlock Triumph and Agony, WASP - S/T, Hank Williams Jr - Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound, Iced Earth- Dystopia, Ray LaMontagne and the Pariah Dogs- God Willing and the creek…, Rival Sons - the great western Valkyrie,
Opeth - Blackwater Park Dream theater - scenes from a memory Slayer - seasons in the abyss Morbid angel - Covent Bolt thrower - relm of chaos At the gates - slaughter of the soul Death - symbolic Testament - the legacy Exodus - bounded by blood Sodom - agent orange Immortal - at the heart of winter
Somw of my favorites in no particluar order: Monster Magnet - Powertrip Carcass - Necroticism (their pinnacle, to me Heartwork's production is lacking something) Megadeth - Youthanasia Metallica - Justice SYL - City Malmsteen - Fire and Ice Maiden - Powerslave (best opener and closer ever?)
Soundgarden - superunknown is on par with Angel Dust ... Two of my personal favourites! Ark - burn the sun Bad Religion - against the grain... Pain of Salvation - in the passing light of day A7X - life is but a dream Sleep Token... There's no limit to this kinda list...
St Anger has no skips because you just don't put it on in the first place under any circumstances
Actually st anger and frantic are good songs, but that's all.
I like The Unnamed Feeling.
I actually love st anger, I never really understood why it got so much hate.
Now lulu, was terrible we all know that right?
@@FivedollarflowersIt’s not that bad, but I think the songs are too long….

Dance of Death? Ughhhhhh I hated that one so much. I went back and tried again and it's not doing it for me. Brave New World was great and then I felt like everything afterwards was disappointing.
1 - tales from the thousand lakes by Amorphis
2 - Wyrd by Himinbjorg
3 - Atlantis Rising by Manilla Road
4 - LandawarijaR by Helheim
5 - Blot by Einherjer
6 - fly on the wall by AC/DC
7 - Beyond the north winds by Sig:Ar:Tyr
8 - Thunderforge by Skyforger
9 - Heartwork by Carcass
10 - Heimgang by KAMPFAR
That’s my list. I love that you mentioned Ride the Lightning. One we played so much as kids…and Escape is one of my favorites from them 👍 cool list Sir, cheers ☕️
Interesting manilla road pick. Not many people gravitate towards AR but I really really like it.
Rock on 🤘
Great to hear you always give SYL City love it's one of my favourite albums of all time, a few I can think of are
Rammstein - Mutter
QOTSA - Songs for the Deaf
SOD - Speak English or Die
Gorjira - From Mars to Sirius
Slayer - Reign in Blood
NIN - Pretty Hate Machine
Portishead - Dummy
Wilderun - Veil of Imagination
Mutter is a masterpiece for sure. Over half the album is a staple in their live shows still to this day and probably until the band calls it quits.
Definitely wolverine blues and heartwork in there for me. Merry Christmas metal brothers
Nice video. A few that come to mind for me is:
KSE- As Daylight Dies and The End of Heartache
In Flames- Clayman
A7x- (All albums from) Waking the fallen to Nightmare
Trivium- Ascendency, Shogun and In the Court of the Dragon (I'll admit the last is a weird take but I love every song on there)
All That Remains- The Fall Of Ideals
OM&M- The Flood
Shokran- Duat
Death- Symbolic
Polaris- Fatalism
Necrophagist- (Both their albums) Onset of Putrefaction and Epitaph
Megadeth- Rust In Peace (I generally don't like them but love this album because of the guitar work)
Also I agree with the Blackening for machine head. Locust was also another one for me personally.
There's definitely tons I've missed but these are a few that I thought of.
A couple of mine are:
Mercyful Fate - Melissa
King Diamond - Abigail
At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul
Slayer - Show No Mercy
Wraith - Undo The Chains
Natur - Head of Death
D.R.I. - Thrash Zone
Queensrÿche - Operation: Mindcrime
I was thinking the same thing
Still one of THE greatest albums ever.
I bought this 5 years ago, absolutely blown away at how good the songs are, and how intense and coherent the album storyline is.
EMPIRE edges it for me, but both are no-skip wonders
@@Hathajoy8 yeah Empire is a killer album. It has a real touch of 90s cool to it's sound.
Best I Can is one of the best songs ever.
Tool - lateralus
Pantera - vulgar display of power / far beyond driven, great southern trendkill
In flames - jester race, clayman
Gojira- from mars to Sirius
Korn- life is peachy
Marilyn Manson - holy wood , antichrist superstar
System of a down - discography
Slipknot - self titled, Iowa
Black sabbath- black sabbath, paranoid , masters of reality
Here’s the thing about Iowa, I can’t listen to the title track 😂 i get the point of it and yea corey’s vocals are some of the most brutal he’s ever done but, I skip right to that part where he’s goin off at the end
Great picks. If I were to come up with 10 off the top of my head, in no particular order:
Melvins - Hostile Ambient Takeover
Strapping Young Lad - SYL
Alice in Chains - Dirt
Black Sabbath - Master of Reality
Fear Factory - Obsolete
Pissing Razors - Fields of Disbelief
Queens of the Stone Age - Rated R
Superjoint Ritual - Use Once and Destroy
Vader - De Profundis
Hatebreed - Perseverance
Nice man. I certainly don't know all of these albums, but based on the ones I do know (and agree with you) I will definitely check them out!
Thanks for turning me on to Poison the Idea. It came in the mail yesterday and it has not left my turntable
You're so real for Angel Dust. Amazing record.
It is indeed. I never get tired of it
On my list too!
Thats my favourite album off all time it has everything .
Absolutely the best Faith No More album hands down. One of my favorites as well.
The only tattoo I have says "A Small Victory"...it is the standard I judge all other albums by...
I'll play -
Meshuggah - Catch 33
Atheist - Unquestionable Presence
Necrophagist - Epitaph
Emperor - Prometheus
Cannibal Corpse - Kill
Tool - Lateralus
Humanities Last Breath - Ashen
Gojira - Mars to Sirius
Nile - Annihilation of the Wicked
Opeth - Blackwater Park
🤘
I’ll chuck a few at you pal:
Ministry - The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf
Mark Lanegan Band - Blues Funeral
David Bowie - Blackstar
Therapy? - Troublegum
Mansun - Six
Great video pal
MERRY FUCKIN’ CHRISTMAS YES MY DUUUUUDDEEEE!!!!
Troublegum is a great shout and I will be mentioning that in another perfect list for sure.
Have a great Christmas yourself bro 🤘
I have the same opinion regarding Ministry...that album 10/10 👌
This is the first time I've ever heard anyone mention Troublegum. Every time I've asked about Therapy? people always look at me like... I need therapy(?) [A joke yes, but in all sincerity]
@ one of my top five bands. I have all their records. A Brief Crack of Light being my current fave but it changes.
Some great choices here! Though I’m sad that Painkiller is missing from the list - hope it makes it on to a later list!
I love that you've included Rancid, put it on the other week having not heard it for years, it put me in such a good mood.
Yeah man. Such a great album. Not a single bad song on there
Great list. Quick thoughts
Anthrax - sound of white noise
Quicksand - slip
Snapcase - progression through unlearning
Death - human
Mindfunk - dropped
Not heard snapcase but judging by your other picks I'm going to give it a listen.
progression through unlearning is awesome! i haven't listened to it in almost 20 years, but i think i'll go through my cd's and give it a few spins.
Cure - Disintegration
Pearl Jam - Ten
Eagles - Hotel California
AC\DC - Back in Black
AIC - Dirt
Metallica - Master of puppets
Judas Priest - Painkiller
I know not all are heavy but just off the top of my head front to back albums
Fear Factory - Demanufacture
PJ Harvey - To Bring You My Love
Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger
Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time
Paradise Lost - Draconian Times
A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory
Anthrax - Among The Living
Agree about Ride The Lightning and Angel Dust being perfect. Will check some of your others. This has reminded me that I used to want to check out Poison Idea after hearing the Macine Head cover of Alan's on Fire. Much easier to do these days, so I will.
PJ Harvey - Rid of me
Soundgarden-Superunknown for me.
Fear Factory-obsolete(but there is this funny cars song)
But your picks are fantastic too.
@@rubif5797cars is cool
Iron maiden somewhere in time!
Hell yeah, tis my favourite maiden album.
I clicked on this video just to see how long it would take you to mention City ;)
But that would definitely be on my list too.
Great picks mate. Some great albums there
Nice to see someone giving love to Poison Idea, one of my favourites for sure😁 My 10 are:
Poison Idea - Feel The Darknes
Faith No More - The Real Thing
Faith No More - Angel Dust
Agnostic Front - Victim In Pain
Sepultura - Arise
Biohazard - Urban Discipline
Cro-Mags - The Age Of Quarrel
Clutch - Transnational Speedway League
Sick Of It All - Just Look Around
Monster Magnet - Superjudge
I could choose so many more, these do get played a great deal though.
Have a fantastic Christmas
Love your list, do prefer Dopes To Infinity though
@@paulabrowning9798 I love Dopes To Infinity too, but I love the more raw, fuzzy sound of Superjudge.
I hope you have a great Christmas & that 2025 is your best year yet, you deserve it man 👍🏻🙂
So here's my 10 perfect albums: (so far*. In no particular order*)
Gojira: Le'fant Sauvage.
Hatebreed: Concrete Confessional.
Machine Head: The Blackening.
Status Quo: Can't Stand The Heat.
Lamb Of God: Sacrament.
MCR: The Black Parade.
Crypta: Shades Of Sorrow.
Metallica: Master Of Puppets.
Foo Fighters: Wasting Light.
Gary Moore: Wild Frontier.
That was very difficult to do 😂
For me:
Cynic - Focus
Fields of the Nephilim - Elysium
Iron Maiden -Somewhere in Time
Killing Joke - Killing Joke
Chelsea Wolfe - Abyss
Godflesh - Streetcleaner
Recent:
Ulcerate - Cutting the Throat of God
somewhere in time = greatest album of all time, for me at least😄
I had a hard time with Elysium, mainly because of the shitty production, but Ive recently taken it into my DAW and played around with the levels, upping the middle and treble, and it's a much better listen. I did the same with The Nephilim. I would highly recommend it.
@ i thought the production was perfect, especially with good headphones
@@rubysoffner4557 its a bit flat. bringing the treble up lets the guitars really shine through. i have bang and olufsen H6 and akg k371 headphones. it sounded like fart through them both until i EQ-d it.
pretty basic but
Iron Maiden-Iron Maiden
Nevermind-Nirvana
Discovery-Daft Punk
Plastic Beach-Gorillaz
Type O Negative - The Origin of the Feces
Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses
Type O Negative - October Rust
Type O Negative - World Coming Down (can see why they're my favourite band now eh)
Fear Factory - Demanufacture
Bolt Thrower - The IVth Crusade
Cannibal Corpse - The Bleeding
Carcass - Necroticism - Descanting the Insalubrious
Metallica - Ride The Lightning
Meshuggah - Contradictions Collapse
Meshuggah - Destroy Erase Improve
Cattle Decapitation - The Anthropocene Extinction
Fields of the Nephilim - The Nephilim
Slugdge - Esoteric Malacology
Quite a few others, but those sprang to mind.
I was fixing to say, this guy might like Type O a bit. Peter Steele's voice is legendary.
ANGEL DUST!!!!! A masterpiece in my eyes as well.
The older I get, the more I prefer King For A Day over Angel Dust. Both iconic and perfection! Great list my man 🤘cheers from Minnesota 🍻
What’s mad about Crack The Skye is if you want to pick it up on cd it’s always one of, if not the cheapest Mastadon one available. A great album.
The first album that came mind was When Out Come the Wolves. Second thought was Angel Dust. A fine list sir! Rancid is great!
Some of mine are:
Mental Vortex - Coroner
Symbolic - Death
Ocean Machine - Devin Townsend
Defenders of The Faith - Judas Priest
The Etheral Mirror - Cathedral
Kill 'em All - Metallica
Exercises in Futility - Mgla
From Mars to Sirius - Gojira
Blackwater Park - Opeth
Cryptopsy - None So Vile
Symbolic is a perfect metal record
for me , some of them are
show no mercy - slayer
10000 days- TOOL
Kid A -radiohead
metropolis pt-2 , images and words by dream theater
damnation,ghost of perdition by opeth
wish u were here,DSOTM by pink floyd
avenged sevenfold(self titled),nightmare
rust in peace - megadeth
Ride the lightening - metallica
round the sun - mastodon
master of reality - black sabbath
somewhere in time , powerslave - iron maiden
court of crimson king - king crimson
blizzard of oz - ozzy osbourne
hybrid theory - linkin park
machine head - deep purple
kandisa - indian ocean
Thanks a lot mate. The channel is doing great thansk to the support of good people like yourself. Have a great Christmas as well bro 🤘
Just listened to poison idea...what an amazing album!! Thanks for the heads up 🤘 Top banana.
My perfect album suggestion: Death - leprosy.
Mine is crack the skye by mastodon too. A perfect record
I will never get tired of that album
Man I was sure Blood Mountain was superior to Cracke, I might have to have a comparative listen.
@@trevorstevenson4038Blood Mountain is great but Crack the Skye is peak Mastodon. It’s probably the best metal album of all time.
Great start with Crack. Best album by one of my top 10 bands.
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Death - The Sound of Perseverance
Judas Priest - Painkiller
Black Sabbath - Master of Reality
Mastodon - Crack the Skye
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger
Alice in Chains - Alice in Chains (I could say Dirt but I always skip "Sickman")
Cannibal Corpse - The Bleeding
Emperor - In The Nightside Eclipse
Altars 👏👏

Alice in Chains - Dirt
A perfect album
@@ThatMetalBloke Yes and so real and honest. RIP Layne Staley & Mike Starr
100 percent
I was gonna list that and I should have. Honestly, Jar of Flies as well. No skips.
One of the greatest albums ever written, perfection, one of the darkest albums ever IMO..
There’s many more just can’t think right now.
Poison Idea, Portland, OR. Portland's Punk scene was pretty damn good. I'm going to have to dust off my '...And Out Come the Wolves' been awhile
Outside of the obvious ones (Metallica's RTL and MOP) my two picks are:
1. Opeth - Still Life
2. Testament - The Gathering (underated af)
Love the inclusion of more hardcore and punk on the channel. For me, whenever I think of ‘no skips’ my mind immediately goes to Ashes of the Wake.
Same. My favorite álbum ever probably.
Master Killer by Merauder, Odd Fellows Rest by Crowbar, Cleansing by Prong, When the Kite String Pops by Acid Bath, and Mutter by Rammstein for me.
Master Killer and Mutter were close to making this list
Land of Sunshine is my favorite song of all time. Glad you mentioned it.
Crack the Sky is a great band from the Mid-Atlantic region that has been around for 50 years.
There are some great choices here. These would be mine:
1. The Great Southern Trendkill - Pantera
2. Ashes of the Wake - Lamb of God
3. Still Life - Opeth
4. Lateralus - TOOL
5. Blackwater Park - Opeth
6. Ænima - TOOL
7. Dirt - Alice in Chains
8. When the Kite String Pops - Acid Bath
9. From Mars to Sirius - Gojira
A really cool guy you are
I’ll give all of these a listen!
I recently just got into metal music in June/July from Fortnite thanks to Metallica collabing with them and I’ve been branching out to all types of music! You seem to have badass taste so I’ll definitely give these a listen
Merry Christmas to you too!
Why thank you muchly. Let me know if any of the albums grab your attention
Welcome to the addiction. Like what you like and never apologize for it. If someone tries to be a gatekeeping dickhead, tell them to piss off. There is so much good in the genre and community, don't let anyone ruin it for you.
On the morbid Angel front , I really like blessed are the sick, or also benediction the grand leveler, great tunes.
Congrats on 25 years. I am coming up to 9 myself.
@@ThatMetalBloke Well done! I heard you mention it in one of your videos and wanted to show you support. Keep going, man!
My top 5 no skips
1. Master of Puppets
2. Rust in peace
3. Vulgar display of power
4. Justice for all and ride the lightning
5. Appetite for Destruction

off the top of my head:
Candlemass - Nightfall
At The Gates - Slaughter of the soul
Him - Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666
Paradise Lost - Icon
Draconian - Arcane Rain Fell
Katatonia - Tonight's Decision
Agalloch - The Mantle
Woods of Ypres - Pursuit of the Sun & Allure of the Earth
Going through at 2 AM to hit that thumbs up whenever someone says Slaughter of the Soul.
Loving your vids man! Metallica and Rancid totally agree with. A few albums on here I haven’t heard but will definitely be checking out over the festivities while guests/family/in laws are doing my nut in.
Merry Christmas and keep up the top work!
Interesting Stuff, gotta check out some of these.
My three Picks would be
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Behemoth - Demigod
Emperor - Equilibrium IX
What a great list man i relate to the faith no more and machine head takes both really amazing albums
I would be interested to see your lists for it mate. They are a lot of fun and people enjoy them so go for it
Thanks for the content this year mate, has been truly entertaining. Have an excellent Christmas and cant wait to see more in the new year.
Venom - Welcome to hell
King Diamond - Fatal Portrait
Van Halen - VH 1
Exodus - Bonded by blood
Twisted Sister - Under the blade
Metal Church - Metal Church
Iron Maiden - Killers
And a Belgian band from my hometown who only released one album but It's all killer in my opinion. BLACK WIDOW - Streetfighter
My perfect 10 albums (in no particular order)…
Conspiracy - King Diamond
Apocalyptic Revelation - Krisiun
Mortal Throne of Nazarene - Incantation
Dawn of Possession - Immolation
The Red In the Sky is Ours - At the Gates
Disturbance - Hour of Penance
Path of the Weakening - Deeds of Flesh
Into the Grave - Grave
The Ten Commandments - Malevolent Creation
Goat - Nunslaughter
My top 10 in no particular order would be:
Iron Maiden- Somewhere in Time
Iron Maiden- Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Slayer- Seasons in the Abyss
Metallica- Ride the Lightning
Mastodon- Crack the Skye
Cattle Decapitation- Terrasite
Misery Index- The Killing Gods
Mors Principium Est- Dawn of the 5th Era
Lamb of God- Sacrament
Pantera- Vulgar Display of Power
I could add 20 other albums in short order and argue with myself all day about this topic, but these are the first 10 that came to my mind.
Sacrament is least best album of their's
@@laasland40oz I know a lot of fans say that but I love that album. Probably because Walk with me in Hell is my favorite LOG song. Every time they play that song the mosh pit goes crazy.
"Angel Dust." Fuck. Yes.
Tool-Aenima, Trivium-Shogun and Ascendancy, Marilyn Manson-Antichrist Superstar, Rammstein-Mutter, Type O Negative-Life is Killing Me, Opeth-Blackwater Park and Damnation, Blind Guardian-A Night at the Opera, Metallica- And Justice for All
Dissection - storm of the light's bane
Swallow the sun - the morning never came
Ghoat brigade - isolation songs
In flames - the jester race
Old man's child - the pagan prosperity
Disillusion - back to times of splendor
You know a really nice surprise in 2020 was Paradise Lost: Obsidian. What a great album. No clunkers on that album. A nice spin through for me.
"City" melts new faces everyday
Death - Scream Bloody Gore
Immortal - At the Heart of Winter
Mgla - Age of Excuse
Asphyx - Necroceros
Cro Mags - Best Wishes
Cyclone - Brutal Destruction
Token Entry - Jaybird
Disfear - Live The Storm
Sacred Reich - Ignorance
Death Angel - UltraViolence
Addmittedly these are the last 10 albums I have listened to but I didn't feel the need to skip any song on any album so they must be all perfect.
Fellow brit! Good to have Metal TH-camrs who actually enjoy the genre!
Gotta agree with ...And Out Come the Wolves. It set such a high water mark for pop influenced punk that it still hasn't been topped. Just throw it on and walk away. I haven't listened to all of the albums on your list, but I kind of want to now.
Some more for me as I think of them:
Archspire - Bleed the Future (Tech death with... melodies? Memorable song structures? WAT?)
Minor Threat - Complete Discography (Does this need an explanation?)
Hypocrisy - End of Disclosure (Just a wall of bangers. You're FORTY FOOOOOOOUUUUURRRRR DOUBLE ZERO)
Chat Pile - God's Country (Living in the same kind of low-tier wasteland as Oklahoma City, where these guys are from, this album hits as hard as Napalm Death's early shit did in certain parts of England)
Mummy the Peepshow - Electric Roller Girl (If you like anything about The Pillows, Shonen Knife, or Japanese indie pop from the 90's and early 2000's LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM)
Twin Tribes - Monolith (Two dudes from south Texas making the best fucking gothic/darkwave music out there right now)
Cannibal Corpse - Violence Unimagined (There may not be a standout, but there's nothing bad on this album)
Idles - Ultra Mono (I really hope they're not in the process of disappearing up their own butts)
Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska (Bleak as Chat Pile, slightly further north)
Bolt Thrower - War Master (The fuck needs to be said?)
also happy xmas bro hope you have an awesome time and drink and get merry and make some happy memories
Cheers bro. You too 🤘
Great list... so many of these I agree with and there are a few I need to check out.
I’ll give a couple of random for me Lizzy Borden Visual Lies, Warlock Triumph and Agony, WASP - S/T, Hank Williams Jr - Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound, Iced Earth- Dystopia, Ray LaMontagne and the Pariah Dogs- God Willing and the creek…, Rival Sons - the great western Valkyrie,
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Dream theater - scenes from a memory
Slayer - seasons in the abyss
Morbid angel - Covent
Bolt thrower - relm of chaos
At the gates - slaughter of the soul
Death - symbolic
Testament - the legacy
Exodus - bounded by blood
Sodom - agent orange
Immortal - at the heart of winter
Somw of my favorites in no particluar order:
Monster Magnet - Powertrip
Carcass - Necroticism (their pinnacle, to me Heartwork's production is lacking something)
Megadeth - Youthanasia
Metallica - Justice
SYL - City
Malmsteen - Fire and Ice
Maiden - Powerslave (best opener and closer ever?)
Fire & Ice is criminally underrated and under-acknowledged.
Soundgarden - superunknown is on par with Angel Dust ... Two of my personal favourites!
Ark - burn the sun
Bad Religion - against the grain...
Pain of Salvation - in the passing light of day
A7X - life is but a dream
Sleep Token...
There's no limit to this kinda list...
