@@katherineripley2967 Nah. As a former opera singer, while training as a soprano I'd higher up my voice due to vocal and air placement in order to sing in opera style. When I had to speak again after classes, people would wonder why I was talking so high and thats because my voice was placed higher due to training. My normal talking voice is usually lower. THIS was what was happening with Ari. She was filming and training for Wicked so the smart thing for her was to keep her voice high so she didn't hurt it.

she’s just talking more healthily to protect her voice, pretty sure she had to get vocal surgery a while back so i imagine a vocal coach/speech therapist of hers told her to talk like that.

If you studied drama and the voice and worked with the voice in a professional setting you will understand how easy it is to damage your vocal cords. Voice actors will change up their pitch and tone to keep their vocal cords warm and less prone to damage. For someone like ariana, whose life is her voice, and because singing in the high pitches she does, it'a normal for her to do this to communicate effectively without hurting her voice. And as the creator of this short said, voice actors will sound different depending on what work theyre doing at the time. Radio djs do this in breaks. They have the radio voice and in the ad breaks they relax and let it the voices rest so they sound different. It's part of taking care of your voice.😊

This has happened to me. You tend to change when the people around you change and you’re an empathetic person. My speech was very crisp in high school, became more southern in college, and now that I have a boyfriend and teach students who are black, I’m starting to pick up on their mannerisms and speech as well. It happens 🤷‍♀️ who cares? My clothing style has changed drastically from goth to punk to colorful flowery teacher. I used to want to be a song writer and was very artsy, now I teach science. We all grow and change.

Hi, I’m a singer-songwriter who has dealt on and off with the effects of vocal abuse, I had to rest my voice for a year because of nodules on my vocal cords and then had to do speech therapy where I was taught to speak in a higher register for vocal health. This is a vocal technique that improves your range and takes weight off of your voice so that it isn’t stressed.

The internet is WILD. I got attacked severally for apparently not using my "real accent" yet older videos of me show me speaking the exact same way and I had to try and dumb it down so I can sound more "authentic" yet I've been exposed to multiple cultures and people will always try to limit you and place you in a box. It's much harder in a country where English isn't the first language so then it's safe to say everyone adopts it in different ways not necessarily "fake" cause it wasn't our language to begin with 😂

That's what happens an acting. When learning languages or a way a director wants a character to sound, it's hard to break. We train for months for a movie some people only see once. So yeah, 5 months of speaking spanish is going to give a weird spanglish accent to an english speaker. 😂 Same with Tom and Spider-Man. He's not American but you can tell when he switches because he spoke that way for months and months on several Spider-Man films. He'll switch by accident. It just happens. People just attack Ariana for literally the same thing every other acter and singer don't get called out for. It's a boring routine at the point. I have family members who are very musical and their accent changes depending on where they move or who they hang out with, and family members who are not so musically gifted whose accents never change lol. They’re just more attuned to those slight tonal differences.

Depending on your group, it’s very likely that you start to develop their speaking. Mirroring means you’re close to that person. more likely because she was working on wicked and not really a lot of her music. She probably was not constantly being near Victoria so her voice just went back to normal.
