- Kintaro playing a cute prank on his father Momotaro.
It was raining a little at times, and Kintaro was attached to his mother, Genki, as it was cold and rainy.
Soon the weather recovered and we were back to a healthy Kintarou.
Dad Momotaro and Gentaro were quite close and Gentaro seemed to have something to say.

The Momotaro family were all born and raised in Japan!
Momotaro (father) was born on Jul 3, 2000
He came to the Kyoto City Zoo in 2010.
Genki (mother) was born on June 24, 1986.
I was born in Kyoto and came back to Kyoto.

Unspoken advice, just presence. How to behave like a mature gorilla. 😅
I don’t consider that when Momotaro, albeit sitting and looking like regal royalty, is giving any advice to Gentaro, whether it is passively or purposely. Momotaro never had the opportunity to learn how to be a true troop leader and that’s not really his fault.I just think that it was unfortunate that his sons have never been able to interact with him the way typical father and son gorillas do as they are growing up. Interestingly, they seem to have developed independent, resilient personalities which will serve them well as they move on in life. This is my personal opinion and others are entitled to theirs, as well. 😊😊
@@luvcats120I see things differently. Gentaro is becoming an adult gorilla and Momotaro is one already. Also, Momotaro plays and spends time with his family more than what is typical of a silverback. Oumbi, Cenzoo, Marcus, etc are typical silverbacks. They are rarely or never seen playing with their children. They nap and eat by themselves as well. They sit back and protect or referee their family. Silverbacks behave like this in the wild as well. Babies and infants are well received or tolerated by silverbacks or sought out based on curiosity by not an everyday occurrence. Momotaro is tolerating and giving Gentaro more grace than other silverbacks have. The other silverbacks wouldn’t be wrong though.
Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Kintaro first messes and annoys Genki, later snuggles like little kid=) When Gentaro sits next to his father it's obvious how they are look alike.

Gentaro was looking right in dad's face, with love in his eyes, inches apart,it melted my heart, and dad is to shy to look at him and respond,then Gentaro looked sad and walked away,I'm learning that Gintaro is a emotional gorilla, and expects reaction when he shows his love, Kintaro not as emotional as Kintaro, and will not let stuff bother him so much,he will keep trying, unlike Gentaro,poor Gintaro,he should know his dad by now,he is not a emotional guy,he use to live on his own, and is not use to love, but I think he cares about Gintaro,he is just shy about it.
Lots to do with Momos upbringing. Let’s face it his mom is not very connected with her most current an tried to wean Komomo at 2. He didn’t have a dad an was limited in his interactions. So you can see at times that he wants to connect but he is awkward an unsure. But it was weird he looked like he was trying to mount Kintaro which is strange

Que lindo Kintaro parece un niñito caminando con su pelota roja, es astuto y no le tiene miedo a su padre Momo, hasta le hace "cachita" por sus intenciones, mientras Genky le gusta tanto comer, esta alredededor de Momo , pero él como si nada. Mi guapo Gentaro está al lado de su padre y observa su cara ,viendo que papa lleva el mando, tan serio, y Momo de repente sin querer demuestra frialdad hacia él. ¿Así será la comunicación entre ellos?

It looks like Gentaro looks at him father's face so sweet asking for a stroke or playing and he doesn't react, then Gentaro thinks: "ok, I didn't expect more from you" and leaves sad. Momotaro would like to approach more to him but something inside him doesn't let him to 😮 it was so clear I could read subtitles over their heads

I know. Animals do things we don’t understand. When a mom gorilla sits on her kid it’s usually discipline not anything else. The moms do health checks, again nothing other than natural animal behavior. We are the ones who label everything an misinterpret natural behavior I totally agree with you
It's funny the very people that are disgusted don't realise humans behave this way and much worse as you know,but that doesn't register in their brains,the only difference is humans do it behind closed doors where no one can see.
