    I've been looking for DIY's on how to do my LS460 FSPORT brakes and I was intimidate when I saw all those damn little wire clips for the regular LS460's. This gives me hope, for the weekend.

      KEHDAH did you find rotors? OEM's are about $100 ea.

      @@Dundertaker1 OEM rotors for the LS FSport are stooopid expensive. The current set I have are about 6 months and have about 2k miles on them and they're warped? How the hell you warp rotors on a car you barely drive? I got some High carbon steel crap from Rock auto and it's a let down. I need to change them but I haven't searched up who makes good rotors and pads that make the least amount of dust and noise, good god!!

    My 2017 GSF has 37,500 miles, on what I believe are the original pads - I bought the car 3.5 years ago at 19,500 miles and then you could feel a considerable wear lip on front discs, so Im pretty sure theyve never been replaced. The brakes still perform perfectly.
    Im pretty light on the brakes most of the time (the gsf I find has a lot of engine braking) but I do drive the car VERY hard now and again on twisty roads. The majority of miles Ive done are NOT on the highway either.
    2 years and around 10k miles ago, the Lexus dealer reported pads at 4mm, then at 2 mm one year later (1 year ago).. recommending replacement both times. The wear sensor should trigger at 2mm, but still no alert. 2 weeks ago the same dealer gave the brakes a clean bill of health during its service! I pointed out that the previous year they flagged the front brake pads as an mot advisory item (mot is mandatory anual uk safety test), but was told they were fine on this occasion. It seems that I have self healing brake pads fitted!!! 😅 The brakes still perform absolutely perfect, so Im leaving them for now.

    So you can compress the calipers with just a screwdriver and no special tool? My daughters Mazda 3 had a special bolt that needed a certain key slot that we didn't have.

  • @CyFi6
    @CyFi6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hey man those rotors dont look right the slots are the wrong sirection on the passenger side and its hard to tell but it looks like the vanes are the wrong direction on the drivers side. At least double check because if the airflow is wrong you risk overheating your brakes

    Is there a 1/2in driver adapter for an impact driver or another tool to help get the rear wheel’s caliper rentension bolts out?
    I can’t get good leverage w a breaker bar like on the front wheels.

      If you purchase the brembo pads, they come with new wear sensors! I have the pads we used in the video description below for purchase!

    I have a 2012 LS460 with some strange brake issues. My brakes were squeaking and I decided to change pads and rotors at 63k miles. I bought this car at 27k in Miami and it had big 21” Wheels, didn’t know if brakes were upgraded as well. Couldn’t match the right rotors OEM were too small, ended up getting them turned, one caliper driver side started to leak when I put it on. It says Brembo on it and it’s 6 piston big caliper. When I called Brembo and emailed pics they said it’s not theirs call Lexus and called them and they said they only have 4 piston for this car and it’s $700 for one. Tried seal kit and still leaking, contacted some mechanics and no one wants to rebuild. Any idea how to fix this problem ? It’s the same Caliper as your GS-F . Where did you buy the rotors ? I went to Lexus today and they checked and said they don’t have these Calipers.

      If you join some Lexus F performance pages on Facebook and post some photos on there, we may be able to help you identify which calipers you have and point you in the right direction!

    Did you open the reservoir before retracting the pistons

    • @SEsGarage
      @SEsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not. As a rule of thumb as long as nobody has ever added brake fluid to the reservoir, you shouldn’t have any issues with overflowing when compressing them.
