Bear of a job is right. I did, however, successfully change mine without pulling off the upper manifold. The tricky part was fully seating the new spark plug wires into the coil, which I more or less did by "braille" with the help of some Harbor Freight 16" needle nose pliers (and a LOT of patience!). Follow the wiring diagram and do one plug at a time. Took me 3 hours start to finish.

I have a 2003 with the secondary air system and have actually removed and replaced the spark plug wires without removing the manifold plenum. It is definitely easier if you have the plenum off but it can be done with it on . You do have to remove the secondary air pipe if you have it as well as reposition the wiring harness. I found that bending the tip of an old long flat blade screwdriver about 20% helped me position the wires to snug them onto their spots on the coil. Also, I highly recommend using 8mm wires instead of 7mm. They will hold up better. You might need to uses a bit of O-ring grease to slip them into the wire holders that keep the wires in place. Magnecore are good but you can get Kingsborne (not sold by AB) for less then half the price.

I did the same, was not fun but once you get the secondary air lines out you have some room...sad for my my coils are gone too so back in I go!

Need Help.. Had a loose negative battery connection so I cleaned it up and got a new battery tried to install it positive first then as soon as I touch the negative cable to battery terminal it Sparks and welds to terminal also she(2000 land Rover Discovery 2) tries to start!if key is turned it will start up fine but sounds like starter keeps running(doesn't matter though because I can't put Neg cable on because it will weld to terminal). So I disconnected starter wire from starter solenoid then touched negative battery cable to battery terminal and she still tries to start(No key in & no starter wire but still tries to start)?

    Thank you

It's part of the fuel pump, fuel filter is not intended to be replaced.

Has anybody ever moved the coil pack to a more convenient location? I figure, I'll remove the intake etc this one time, but then move the coil pack to a more convenient location so I don't have to ever struggle with that again.
