Just as an aside it is tar which causes the yellow staining in smokers’ homes, not nicotine (which itself is odourless and colourless). You have done so well to remove all traces. I thought the backroom would make a great office and work space for you Laura! But, this is such smart thinking for your current situation and the main existing layout seems to really suit this. The bedroom furniture setup was inspiration for my room! I loved the shorter side table and the wardrobe next to the bed and that's how my bedroom is now set up :) wish I had as much light as your guest room has!
I am obsessed with this room. This is literally the look I've been trying to achieve in our master bedroom but with no success lol. ... that graphite Annie Sloan chalk paint is perfect for a chest of draws on my landing that I’ve been wanting to spruce up... just gotta finish my night shifts and I’ll be onto this 😱
Beautiful. Just a suggestion about nicotine stained walls. My mother and uncle used to do a lot of re modeling they would add a tea spoon of good quality clear peppermint oil to the paint and mix really well. Not only makes it bearable to be in the room while painting smells great and no nicotine smell.

Thank you! We went for bog standard white throughout on the walls (got a specific bathroom paint for the shower room) and then we got Farrow and Balls 'strong white' mixed by Valspar for the wood work! Think the white paint we liked the most was from Leyland from B&Q. Hope that helps x

Thanks Sami! The headboard is secured to the bed frame and so there is plenty of space for it to heat the room as the bed isn't right up against it. Plus the Rayburn is down this end of the house so it's always toasty hot (too much so in the summer) :)

I just looked this up on google, cigarettes smoke is yellow from nicotine and tar. Meaning both contribute to the stain

You should flip around the wardrobe and dresser. So it's easier to get into. Everything else looks great 👍

Whatever you do do not add on an extension, you will loose so much light and end up with a super dark interior. Love the space btw!
