    instead of pasta, what about rice? what type and amount and time? thanks for the video!

    • @OutdoorCookingwithAl
      @OutdoorCookingwithAl  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Hurshel, Yes I think you could use rice. That is a great idea. I believe 1 cup of rice makes 2 cups cooked? Just judge on how much rice you would want in it and give it a try. You could cook some rice on the side also in case you needed to add more. The time should be the same as with noodles. Thanks for watching and your question.

    What's can cooker compared to dutch oven? Never heard of that

    • @OutdoorCookingwithAl
      @OutdoorCookingwithAl  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The can cooker is a great way to cook outdoors or in with a direct heat source. Look it up on Goolgle. They work great.

    Question, why didn't you drain the fat? Not criticizing, just wondering.I know this was a few years ago. Thanks for the reply.

    • @OutdoorCookingwithAl
      @OutdoorCookingwithAl  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Steve. I believe we used a lean ground beef so there was'nt much grease to drain. Thanks for asking. Have a great day.

    I have a Stainless steel 2 1/2 gallon cream can. I think it’s a little safer than the aluminum pots.
    I’m doing this recipe right now it looks awesome in the video!! It’s a nasty winter day here.
    So I’m doing it on the stove top. I need to start practicing with the cream can. For camping adventures in my new 17 foot camper!!! Thanks for the recipe. I purchased the cream can from Ogallah Cream can cookers they’re out of Neb.
    They have sizes from a gallon of the quarter all the way up to like 10 gallons!!! All stainless steel!!!!

    i don't see the need for that much olive oil when it's already hamburger meat which has plenty of grease. Is there a specific reason for that much olive oil?

    LOVE my cancooker! I noticed after I added my tomatoes and sauce that mine wasn't as red as yours. I think it's because my burger had more fat content so I skimmed some of the grease off the top and then it was the same color red as yours. Also when I added my macaroni I also threw in a small container of fresh sliced mushrooms...turned out amazing! Very simple recipe and great job on the easy how to video!

    You don't drain the fat outta the hamburger

    • @OutdoorCookingwithAl
      @OutdoorCookingwithAl  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was very lean ground beef. There was hardly any fat to drain. Maybe a tablespoon so I didn’t bother. Thanks for asking. Have a great day.
