I imagine Shaq holding the fight stick like a gamecube controller.
Nah he uses the Tetris Giant stick to play
Lmao like a microcon
I always assumed that any controller Shaq holds just disintegrated immediately from his grip strength.
Yo that’s funny I was lowkey thinking the same thing but nes controller. Hahaha I’m dead
Lmao
Shaq is a Footsie God 😭🤣😭🤣
Needs custom ordered size 19 shoes to contain those footsies 🤣
AHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'm dying! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Shaq would refer to it as “Feet Work”
@@JustPokey size 22
All those hours of Shaq fu are playing off.
LMAOOOO
Which one, the shitty fighting game or the medocre beat em up?
I say Shaq remembers the SF2 arcades and how fearsome & godlike Ryu's cr.LK, cr.LK, cr.LK, cr.LK > Stun combo was.
He went full post arcade stress syndrome and started having flashbacks, man. That's a clear shellshock combo. D:
cr lk cr lk crlk J HK, too godlike
I never knew Shaq was a pro FGC player.
Shaq been in the FGC way longer than you think. He even has his own game. Daigo doesn't have that.
He does have a PHD in CSGO
I mean he even has his own game which got a re-release
Shaq Fu you noob.
@@BeretBay right!!! It’s really embarrassing seeing these new to only SFV players not know anything about fighting games.
It's really fun to look at beginner level play and think back on your fighting game journey. We were once all like these guys
When you been playing fighting games for longer than two years and only slight above that level 😭
@@e.j9983 that was me for like a year and a half but then it was just one of those moments were it all just starts to click in your head.
@@e.j9983 Don't worry, I'm not good either :P I just meant experience and game knowledge. We're not Daigo, but we can fight :D
@@GANGYISREAL Things are slowly getting there but I still lose more than I should be since I know why I lose but sometimes my brain just turns off. Just need some more practice of course.
@@starroceann7529 definitely 😤
New lore unlocked: Retired NBA champion Shaquille O’Neil invented the Hokuto No Ken basketball infinites.
I wish I could like this more than once.
God, I love that game so much. Its the most busted game in the world but its outrageously fun.
That fight with lupe fiasco and diago reminded me of the end of the incredibles when dash got to race in the 100m with regular kids and had to keep slowing down. When diago started kicking his ass in that later match with a near flawless victory, I thought about dash's parents yelling at him to slow down lmao
This was an exposition match, i bet that Daigo was using this more as experimental with the new mechanics rather than actually playing to win, also just having fun
Kenny Omega was sandbagging in the extreme against Austin Creed. If you've seen his Alex, he is a very competent tournament-level SF5 player that knows how to frame trap, shimmy, knows when it's his turn, etc. Kenny is the consummate entertainer and gave the audience a show.
Damn kenny is legit
Daigo was such a good sport for going easy on Lupe and letting him win.
I'm glad someone said it
He tried to win tho
i think he wasn't losing on purpose, but more so just not taking it as seriously as he could. kinda like when you play a game with your little brother or smth
Yeah but some people actually thought that exhibition was real 😂😂
Well ofc, if he just bulldoze lupe with perfects, its not gonna be good for the promotion, defeat the purpose ofmthe exhibition in the 1st place. Im sure daigo was told to do that either.
Seeing total newbs playing fighting games can be stressful and interesting at the same time. Always refreshing to see.
Sometimes you can adopt some Unga Bunga tech to throw off the enemy.
Is that a fucking DaPucci Convertible? Lmaoo
Bro that pfp is a crime
DaPucci
IS THAT DAPUCCI⁉️
Shaq's footsie skills are legendary
Not gonna lie I play exactly like that haha, I just don’t mash in the same area for 5 seconds 😂
Like all Ryu Mains in Smash
Now hear me out. A full bracket full of celebs who are new to the game
FUND IT
That would be dope!
That would be crazy
Find a charity or two that can get Celebs and do a charity tournament
Nice idea brah
JM: "Shaq is clearly identifying a short light kick as a strong move."
Shaq: "Sorry, my big ass hand and my big ass thumb can only find the short light kick."
I love that even when playing fighting games, the wrestlers are building a story.
So obviously not a coincidence it came down to the final game, but still pretty entertaining.
They are good entertainers and it shows
Did shaq have a custom controller for his MASSIVE hands?
A fight stick with a 6" long level lmao
Your asking the real questions here lol 😂
nah just an original xbox controller
@@vegaspony you do realize that Street fighter 5 is not on Xbox One right?
Edit: never mind whoosh on me
@@NoNoDontTouchMeThere you do realize I said original xbox and it was a joke about how big the original xbox controller was, right?
The fact that Daigo annihilated him on the first round of the last game was a pretty clear indication of what he could have done if he had really went all out
You mean if he had actually put a little effort in lol
Well it was pretty obvious since most of his whiff punishes were crouching mid + hadouken or crouching mid + tatsu.
that was daigo at 10% . The rest of the sets he was going 2%
I just need to see Shaq play Guilty Gear.
For the grounded footsies the series is notorious for?
Airdashes are the definition of hangtime.
With Leo
Potemekin
Although Daigo was obviously mucking around, keeping it close and trying to do fun parries, Lupe did play surprisingly well. He was a much better player than the other celebrity examples. Sure he spammed uppercut a bit, but he is a Ken player.
Loved the video btw. Fun topic!
"But he is a Ken player" lol
Kenny is actually a pretty damn good Street Fighter player. He can for sure hold his own in SF4 and probably does pretty well in SF5 as well. The match shown between himself and Austin was the big "reveal" for Cody. It was the first time anybody was shown actually using him in that game and I think it was a few days or a week prior to his release to the world, too.
Lupe did do a lot better than you would expect him to do, however.
"I love Street Fighter 2, I just really hate Zangief. Only Ken and Ryu I find it hard to beat Blanka" ~Lupe F.
Song Gold Watch
lol All ken players spam DP even momochi you're right
Not gonna lie, Kenny and Austin show a lot of potential
I mean both are gamers and just not pro gamers. Omega is a better fighting game player than Creed while Creed is more well rounded because he plays everything. They talk about video games on their channel all the time.
Kenny been going to ceo and evo
Love how kenny vs austin was like an anime fight when both opponents are constantly leveling up and trash talking eachother
I've been subbed to your channel for a long time and I gotta say I appreciate this style of video that helps bring new people/players into fighting games. Everyone has to start somewhere and I feel like there's no better place than right here.
IDk If anyone has been seeing this, but Solja Boi has/was streaming DBFZ online, and Logic said he actually plays DBFZ with a stick and everything
Interesting
Yeah he plays a bunch of games but maybe he might be good at fughterZ
Nostalgia will make anyone move
Does this means DBFZ is coming to the Soulja Console? I sure hope it does.
Link my guy ?
When you play with a 3 year old kid and let him have fun.
Good guy Daigo
Lupe isn’t horrible though he’d probably be close to platinum if he played a lot online
Just because Daigo most likely didn't play his best does nothing to take away from Lupe's performance. That really was fun to watch (especially with your commentary!).
Just from the beginning, Kenny is in that LMAO
And xavier
And he’s playing Alex which makes me happy as fuck
I love how you explain all the concepts for newcomers. I had hoped that after you said "DP means dragon punch" you would then go on to explain that dragon punch is generally an anti-air special move.
Kenny Omega has a nice Cody on SFIV, this video really took me back to when he was a guest on Gootecks channel, miss the ol' days 🤧
Mike "my Makoto is sick" Ross
Mike "The *Reads* Gootecks" Ross
Shame Gootecks was a Trump supporter
Old? SFIV? SFII is old. SFIV was yesterday. SFV is today still so...
@@jeanrushmer8192 No one has been cancelled for just being a Trump supporter since his election.
That being said, endorsing any sort of riot and being an anti-masker is a no-go for me.
I'm pretty sure he's lost something over quarantine. Have you SEEN the guy?
Imagine if they made them play characters that look like them
eva marie was ahead of the game on that one
Kenny Omega dressed as Cody for some promo material for SFV!
@@zegim lol
Kenny O as Alex for sure.
Shaq would be playing balrog probably
I think this was where Kenny chose Cody on its Day One release. A disadvantage against Creed's Ibuki, but was quick to adapt to Cody. Awesome match.
diago likes to put on a show and make matches close, I feel like he threw a couple rounds/played unsafe to make it close but I think he wanted to win the set as he anti aired at the end there, I dont think capcom asked him to let lupe win I think diago just wanted to give the audience a show and lupe ended up winning still a great match
He threw every round he lost. He showed how easily he could beat Lupe. He was just playing around.
Who tf is diago? You mean Diego Umejuarez?
I love every video you've ever put out that has you analyzing sets or matches. They're really fun to watch, and you even had some beginner tips in this one, which I think made it really unique.
2:35 "I don't want to burn any bridges" I love the confidence lmao
I love how you took advantage of the examples of low level play to explain concepts in game.
I think my eyes glaze over when I watch analysis by other fighting game streamers/creators, but for some reason, it's just very fun watching your content!
Honestly, respect to Lupe. He's clearly spent some time in the lab and he's pretty good! Anyone know if he goes to tournaments? Would be cool to see more of his matches
I think Daigo was using that exhibition as an opportunity to learn SFV's biases at the time (season 1/year 1), and not *letting* Lupe win but not using his true skill either. He's just taking it easy. He turns up the throttle a few times but he's just chillin'.
If Daigo went full Daigo the crowd woulda ben bummed af. Bro did a lot for the community by being a good sport. Hopefully more folks got into fighting game from this :)
That shaq vs eva match had me lmao 😂 idk its just spamming low kicks is so funny to me, especially when the opponent is on the opposite side of the screen lol ... Love JM's commentaries .. wish he can do some commentary on some of my matches 😂
Lupe! That one had me yelling at work! What a show!
Thank you JM for another entertaining video! Appreciate the consistent, creative, fgc content.
Let's be real, Daigo threw. It's Daigo, the fucking legend of SF who has been mistaken for Ryu because the two are almost synonymous with one another at this point. He was dropping punishes, intentionally going for weak punishes, the works. I don't think he fully intended to lose, but he wasn't trying to win either.
If Daigo put in an ounce of effort, that would've been 3-0 Daigo with Lupe not even taking a round.
Oh wow, good eye. I never would have noticed 🙄
I love this kind of atypical but still fighting game related content, keep it up!
You’re always finding a way to keep your content fresh I love it man thanks!!
Any advice you give out is greatly appreciated. I have been playing fighting games my whole life but just started really diving into the FGC for the last few months. Please make more of these dude!
I would like to see a celebrity tier list of how well they are at the game.
lol Daigo taking it so easy on Lupe
True. But how many of us would stand victorious with Daigo just going easy on us?
@@shifteleven anyone with any fighting game experience.. he wasn't even trying.
This is the content I was asking for more of. Thank you for this!!
Shaq with the size 23 footsies.
Anyway, that Lupe v. Daigo match got me legitimately hype. I hardly play fighting games but the FGC is just a fun scene to follow.
Rationalizing the way these two are playing melts my brain with how random it is .... lol .
I didn't even know daigo play lupe ty jm for this lowkey enjoyed it
what a fun video man, i think that even if it was just for fun, Lupe Fiasco is not a bad player at all, definitely the best in all of the celebrities that you showed
I'm 99% sure Daigo wanted to keep it close for entertainment and thought it was a FT5 . This was an interesting video btw. It reminded me of an exhibition match for dead or alive 6 where 2 tekken pros played (Yuyu and Tanukana) I think for the 1st time, and had no idea what they were doing but still made it fun to watch. I'd love to see more like this
11:20 I just can't help but laugh at the pictures at the top
Lupe has that e-sports face going on while Daigo is just like "Bruh.. let's make this quick, I just wanna go home and sleep."
This was a fun video. A couple fun, silly moments from the players shown. After Lupe realized he won, he just left. He ran out the building and didn't come back for like 20 minutes. And Shaq had a match where Tasty Steve was coaching him. And he was taking a very hands on approach to coaching.
Dude I am a complete trash at fighting games but enjoy tournaments like crazy!!! The fact that you explain some of the terms that may be super common to pros is really cool so keep it up!
this video was amazing
I love this vid! That's exactly what happens when you play someone less skilled then yourself (diago vs lupe) you get caught totally of guard! Definitely not a rigged match.
Definitely not rigged but I do think Daigo cared more about having fun than anything else during the match.
I don't think Daigo threw at all, but he wasn't playing seriously, its an exhibition match, it would've been lame if he destroyed him
Yeah Daigo would have looked like a show-off
Good video. I had heard that Lupe beat Daigo, but hadn't seen the match til now. Daigo definitely wasn't going as hard as he could, but I'm surprised Lupe is as good as he actually is. That's pretty cool tbh.
The Kenny Omega/Xavier Woods feud has always been hilarious, they get into it constantly. This particular match was when they decided to bring the Young Bucks and Big E and Kofi into it to make it 3 on 3. I remember Kenny and the Bucks cutting a promo and Matt saying something like "I was the KING of Street Fighter 2 Turbo on SNES!" and Kenny just going "Matt, it's Street Fighter 5" and Matt just going "... they made that many?"
Holy monkeys....the fact that diago actually lost to a rapper. That match was legendary. But I could also see diago wants to put on a show which was ultimately his undoing.
It wasn't really an undoing. He wasn't even trying. Everyone knows that
I've been saying it for years Daigo threw that match for Lupe
No fucking shit sherlock
Yeah...obviously bro he can dismantle the likes of tokido,sako,fuudo...lupe is just a piece of cake...😂
Daigo throwing out whiffing rando normals while Lupe is still on the ground. Hahaha. He was having such a chill time just smashing buttons lol.
I played Ryan Hart when he did that world record Kumite attempt at my local videogame store. I managed to hit him once, and popped my V-Trigger, but it was only 30 seconds.
I like this content a lot, dude! Greetings from the 312
Great channel man competing with Maximilian now for fighting game channel haha
Your videos got me into fighting games.
I genuinely never understood button mashing in FGs. The first time I ever touched a FG as a kid, I never thought to just press every button as fast as possible.
Loved this video and your excitement, another one please!
U just realized how many subs you it hasn't been that long right? I've been watching you since quarantine started and you had 20k subs more/less you've grown so much in a little amount of time you deserve it all for releasing great content
OK Shaq was not messing around, he knows some stuff.
I just love the fact that, even though daigo was goofin around having fun, at times you could see beast daigo surge and go apeshit lmao
That diago lupe fight still triggers me i know it was a fight showing off the game and hyping up lupe but wtf diago couldve at least teched one grab not look like you dont know how to counter the whole fight..
I think he was planning to show off in the last 1 or 2 game(s) of the FT5, but then it turned out to be FT3.
to be fair, daigo has a history of being freed up by throws in SF5, not that i'm any better lol
It was just a show, you can tell Daigo was just messing around. At one point he throws a meaningless air FK, lol.
Although actual fighting game content isn't very great, i highly recommend checking out Marshawn Lynch playing Rob Gronkowski in Mortal Kombat on Conan. Absolutely hilarious video
These are my favorite type of Jm videos!
It's good watching the pros, but I think it's equally good watching a lesser experienced player learning as they play 👏
Great vid would love to see more. Doesn't Snoop play SF5?
Kenny Omega so good he named his wrestling finisher v-trigger.
About Kenny vs Creed. Kenny actually played tournaments when he was in Japan (don't know if he still finds the time now in AEW though). So it's not really surprising that he knows some things. As for Creed: He is something like an advanced casual. Absolute gamer but plays almost everything (he has a channel called up up down down, where he invites WWE wrestlers to play everything from Pokemon to Madden NFL)
You failed to mention that this match between Woods and Omega was at E3 and it was the world premiere of Cody's gameplay (as he was still an upcoming DLC at the time). So Omega probably had limited time for training with the character prior to that, if any.
Daigo was clearly sandbagging lol what a nice dude. Not trying to scare people away from the game!
Yeah great vid I feel the last match was him not trying to hard as you said I feel most fighting gamers can kinda tell but it was very entertaining to watch and I bet they had all the fun lol
I really liked this video and especially these reaction videos really entertaining.
Actually impressed by the immediate footsies from the second fighters (wrestlers)
Xavier Wood is very much into gaming. Has a gaming channel and all.
Funny to see Kenny Omega use a V-Trigger and it's not even his signature move we talking about lol
Dang, if Lupe had his Parry's down he would've done a lot better. Really cool stream JM! Hot damn, he still took the set! Awesome.
Great nice video bratha blessings man this is awesome
1:00
Pro, EVO-Level gameplay right here guys.
Kudos to Kenny Omega and Austin Creed coordinating it for maximum hype.
The low-short spam! Oh my God, Shaq! 😂
please do more of these it was very interesting to see
Daigo was toying with him thinking it would have been a 5 round
Dope fgc content! I appreciate it bro
definitely loved this one with shaq but also liked the analysis of the lupe fight.
I'm kinda curious to see more celebs playin StreetFighter because as popular this game has been over the past 30 yrs I feel like there's more celebs that would be more familiar playing a little bit of like SFII in their heyday or Alpha
Daigo just been a nice guy and letting him win.
Do some more man. Big fan of your review videos.
appreciate the explanation and commentary
