    コメント欄にもあったけど、日本人からするとakashiで区切るのは、結構違和感ありますよw
    Aka=red
    Shiro=white
    なので「Redwh」って言ってるような感覚。
    短く言いたいなら、普通に「Aka」だけでいいのでは?

    What controller does akashirobo use? A gamepad or hitbox?

      We actually don't know. We only know that they play on switch and PS4. If I had to guess, most likely a dual shock 4.

    I'm from Japan, and I am so freaking triggered every single time the commentator says akashi instead of akashirobo. That is not the name, and not how you shorten it, it feels like calling Justin Jus.

    • @Kummahndough
      @Kummahndough ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Pray tell, how would you shorten it then?
      It's an online alias, and with the speed of the plays going onsome shortening of the names is gonna be needed.
      I'd love to see your approach to the names in a commentary booth, because I'm genuinely curious as to how it "should" be done.

      @@Kummahndough I understand the perspective of a commentator, but to be honest, I wouldn't shorten it in anyway, there is just not a obvious one. Mostly when a long name is shortened it would be four of two characters (like ぷよテトorぷて), but akashirobo is only five, hard to imagine a way to shorten it. If you have seen any japanese ppt player talking about akashirobo, you'll never hear them shorten it. Btw, the reason akashi sound really off is that akashirobo is three words combined, aka(red) shiro(white) bo(hat). akashi literally cuts a word in half, making it sound weird to japanese speakers.

      a good example of shortened names of tetris players are amemiya taiyou, shortened to amemya or ame-san(san kind of meaning sir), uyeshota, shortened to uye- san or uye-kun (kun because he is young). The two examples all resulted with four syllables. You might think why ueyshota needs to be shortened? The reason is that the part of shota has a extended pronunciation of お(o) in it, making it not the best name to pronounce fast.

      @@user-dj9px1qc1x I'll be blunt with you. I get that your intention wasn't necessarily bad with this comment. That being said, you come off as anywhere between passive-aggressive to hostile with your original comment. And it isn't like this was done in any sort of bad faith, so please give the commentators some slack. This wasn't an issue that was brought up to us by our JP audience, so we had no idea; we'll keep this in mind moving forward, but we can't guarantee this won't happen again, especially given this casting set was done primarily for an EN audience and we won't always have the same commentators around.

      @@HDFlood_ The comment doesn't seem passive-aggressive or hostile at all, nor does it discredit the commentators in any way. They were just expressing their feelings about someone's name not being called properly. Many names (especially those from East Asian countries) have meanings/structures in them and sound nonsensical when altered arbitrarily. While I am relatively unaffected by someone truncating my name or someone else's for their linguistic comfort, I totally understand people can feel off by that even if it happens on an online alias.
