Greetings from Texas! Thank you so much for posting this video. I'm making my first jean jacket and have been looking everywhere for a good lining video. Yours is the first to suggest going up a size for the shell. Everything made so much sense and gave me the confidence I need to make my first jean jacket! Update 9/4/23: I finished my first lined blue jean jacket! Thank you so much for such great directions.
Oh how timely that I found this video! I’ve just begun to cut out my patterned denim for this jacket! I live in San Francisco where one can wear a denim jacket all year round (though there are days in the winter you need a wool hoodie underneath). I was wondering if I wanted to make one lined how would I go about it? The only thing I was sad about was that there were NO INSIDE POCKETS. As a woman (who mostly wears men’s clothing, cause pockets! When I sew I always make sure all my pockets are functional and I add inside pockets. I wish you had a “Tools I use” video so we could click an Amazon link and throw some money your way. This is a GREAT video. Thank you.
cool, thanks. I kind of figured I could do something along those lines but was thinking I would end up doing a turned lining. This looks simple. I am aiming to do a waxed light canvas with wool blanket lining.
Gorgeous, excellent craftsmanship! I know a trick to avoid faux fur shedding. Use a brand new razor blade, cut from the back like you did, only pressing the razor deep enough to cut through the backing and you won’t cut any of the hair.
