This is seriously the best > concise, incredibly detailed, easy to interpret, THOROUGH as hell video I've ever seen at any point I've looked for any home improvement videos. There is no question what I need to do and this video is not only saving me money, it's saving me LOTS of time. Bravo! This was so good, you have to be a teacher at some level right?
I always apply a few layers of electrical tape to the end of the hose clamp to prevent people from cutting their hands on the hose clamp. Thanks for another well done video. I know these take a lot of effort to make. Good work.
Omg I’ve been throwing out leaky hoses all the time I could’ve fixed them 🤦🏽♀️. Thank you for this I was able to fix at least one. Have to replace the ones I tossed lol!
"all the pressure is at the tip"... Exactly what my wife says. 😁 Really, though, great video as always! You never know who might need this advice. I bet this one does really well. 👍
Instead of hose clamps which will rust out and break I use pex crimp rings. They're a tight fit so put the ring on first then oil up the barb and push it in. If the ring is loose use some electrical tape to build up the od of the hose. Lastly hose clamps can break if you tighten them down too much but pex rings are a lot stronger and will bite into the hose very well.
cut a PVC pipe that is smaller but would fit snugly, connect two ends of the leaked pipe on two ends of PVC pipe, wrap the connections with some good rubber for better hold and u r done..
Another good repair option is using silicone fusing tape. Should be about 7 bucks for 10ft. The beauty with silicone tape is that it won't scratch your car if your repair portion of the hose hits the car paint.
Cool fix but I found a better product. It is made by Expert Gardner and it is called a Push-fit Hose Mender. Sells for +/- $3 they have a Male/Female hose mender. All you need to do is to cut the hose correctly where needed and slide the mender piece in. No other tools required. They also have a coupler version in case the leak/repair is too far along the length of the hose and you do not want to end up with a shorter hose. This last one may not be too good of a solution if you have the hose inside a reel, because it may not reel-up perfectly.
i prefer using a male and female connector over that one piece two male end fix. although one end may go on easy the second end is a fight. with a male n female you can pound both ends on.

Thanks a lot Justin, I really appreciate your comment :)
How long does that hold up for? Electrical tape isn't exactly water proof and that piece that sticks out is pretty stubborn!
@scubacat3 I was thinking the same thing lol
i cut off the excess steel band
I use pipe wrap tape
Excellent content. Thank you!

Thank you 😊 you answer all my questions. Very good way to save money for sure.

4:46. I even use thread tape on the faucet to prevent a leak.
If you haveca good gasket, the teflon isn't necessary ;)

Thank you and would you write the exact name of the plastic mender that you used, please? I think that would be more practical and I need to find it.
It's in the description box 🙏
🤔 thanks for making this video I think you could repair it that easy
:) thanks jump!!!
Nice and comprehensive... I guess there is no patching or taping it.
Nope that won't work, thanks for the nice comment :)
Nice guy! Nice Vedio
I tried to repair my water hose today And replaced the washer as well... But ... Still leaking... What could be the reason? Thanks
My hose is leaking on both ends. I was planning to buy a new hose, now I’ll repair it. Thanks.

Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thanks for the help. I bought a male adapter for my repair but when I got home it told me it identified as a female adapter. I was confused.
👌👌
I wonder if epoxy would be a good way to attach the new hose end instead of a clamp.
Hmmm....maybe 🤷♂️
Tnx for the info
👌👌👌
I bought two of the plastic ones. On one hose it works well, and the other the farthest out end keeps coming off
Thanks.xx
You’re welcome 😊
In the uk a hose clamp is called a jubilee clip
You could buy the kit but instead of using the hose clamp that comes in the kit you can use a pex clamp ring.
Good tip, thanks for sharing with us!
Its winter and I tried to move the hose it broke because its frozen my mother doesn't know I'm in BIG trouble
🥶

Good point, thanks DOS! I used the self-fusing tape in another video I made but on a copper pipe: th-cam.com/video/Db_GYaTcrGk/w-d-xo.html

🎉💪thanks 🎉❤
i wish they made these hose repair couplings to repair expandable garden hoses
WHy doesnt this video work anymore? I tried it on a bunch of different browsers and my phone says "The video is not available on your device".
Just contacted TH-cam, they are on it, thanks for the flag @apex ;)
Video is back up! :)))
@@Got2Learn what'd they do? You probably lost a lot of revenue
It's not my highest paying video but yeah, lost a few bucks lol...I asked TH-cam, they can't do anything about it....oh well! :(

Avoid aluminum hose fittings, they corrode!
Really, never had that happen here 🤷♂️
@@Got2Learn water here is pretty hard. We have to use dezincification resistant valves here too.

Sounds like Demuro. Thanks though, i fixed my leaky hose.

Says hose could be 1/2", 5/8" or 3/4".... then proceeds to measure hose: 9/16". WTF?

Hello bạn (Chào bạn)
It will fix it, BUT WILL NOT LAST IF USED AT GREAT FREQUENCY.
The new hoses too that you will buy won't last long if used at great frequency ;)
That's what SHE said.
I do not recommend replacing a broken garden hose.
If possible use should repair it.
