Respect into full stamina (not the tree, but the specific perk that adds more stamina each time you add to it) once that perk is full, you can essentially stun lock him the entire time with light attacks. Use the freeze spell when needed so you can regain stamina.
😂 I feel you! Plan your attacks! Watch for the ground attack! Which is the most powerful move! Your stamina is key! Spam your light attack can knock him out of his stand!
Put all points in stamina and use light combos, they will stagger him. After three light combos he will fall down. Let your stamina regenerate until he gets up and rinse and repeat. At any point you run out of stamina use the immobilization spell and get stamina back. If you do it right he will got down easy. Good Luck!

Make sure your stamina is fully leveled up and the stamina perks like rolling further away also getting the fire staff helps towards the end of his life to go ham on him I just beat him last night after 30 tries

This one gave me a headache! I wasted my time trying to defeat him for about 4 hours yesterday, and only today, after 3 hours, I finally defeated him. I yelled so much, lol.
Not losing will upon death is a godsend, if there is an easy mode of dark soul / elden ring this should be one... the rest like enemy difficulty and damage scale can keep it as it is.
Just came here to say don’t give up y’all I was pissed but I finally beat him with the light attack falling method and freezing him and letting stamina charge repeat then fire staff special when he has low health it took me like 30 tries it’s hella satisfying keep trying and switch things up.

Not much of a souls like or soulsish player, I’m 40 or 50 attempts in on this boss. What I don’t see mentioned in any video is that the boss is sometimes less aggressive. It might be due to my distance but idk. Really don’t want to skip because I was worried the actual boss would be harder. 😅
I did not know there was a wolf boss earlier so I defeated this guy in the base form but later i spend some time in the are which I didn't explore I came across the wolf. Got his staff. Btw when I try to collect the boss's spirit it said you don't have guidance 😢 i am not sure what that is and later after defeating wolf i came to the same location and the the spirit bulb was gone. Any idea what I did wrong there.
Keep progressing, you'll find an NPC who will upgrade your gourd to absorb spirits. After that, the next shrine you reach gives you the option to collect any lost spirits so you're good!
I really wish these games had better collision detection !! It's 2024 and a boss shouldn't go through a tree !! The boss should hit the tree and either knock the tree down, or rub against the tree when falling.

This is the forest of the wolves area so from the checkpoint when you go straight you fight 2 mid wolves and one alfa type wolf right and then this boss comes so instead of going straight after the first 2 wolves take a detour to left and then go straight you should see a bridge on your left keep on going straight and you will see a gate a boss wolf is meditating. After defeating him you get his staff and this is the summoning magic you can use. Again there are 2 bosses in this area one is this monk creature and another is a wolf. Wolf boss is very simple you will defeat him in one go. And that air attack is holding triangle and release.Good luck
The worst is the one where he puts arm in the ground and the explosions get bigger like 4 or 5 times the last one goes so far it’s like you have to go way back near the bridge sometimes.
I just beat this MFker. It took me 4 days of getting wrecked. Went from level 6 to level 20. Now I can’t collect his soul, and I’m getting my ass beat by the next boss 🤣
I hate this boss. Tried to beat him about 100 times now with no joy. Even farmed a lot to reach level 37, filled up a lot of skills yet he kills me. Very unfair boss to through in so early in the game IMO.
Rearrange the sparks. Max your immobilizer spell and stamina. Use fire chief transformation. Use immobilize from close, stagger him until stamina expires and dodge like hell during ground attacks.
@@carbonara2144 I was trying all that back then and he was still nipping me. I eventually beat him though and was able to proceed. In NG+ now and was eager to face him again for sweet revenge and properly trashed him first try. He didn't even have chance to do his wide explosion, that's how fast I beat him.
I literally requested a steam refund with 2.6 hours in game due to this exact boss last night. I bought this game yesterday because so many reviews said that it was NOT a souls game but after coming to this guy for my first boss and dying like 20 times in a row, I said "F this game, I was tricked, it is absolutely a souls game, but with worse hit timing. Luckily steam refunded me even though I was technically over by .6 hours. If the devs thought it would be a good idea to put an OP boss fight into the game this early as a trick, knowing that most new players would not be able to beat him and would not understand what they were doing wrong, well they lost my $60 for whatever that's worth to them. Literally every second in the game up until this guy was pretty fun, then I felt like the rug pulled out from under me. I figured, hell if this game is only gonna get harder I'm out of here. haha. It really looked like a very beautiful game, just like most all from software games, but I am just not at all into games that punish the hell out of you in order to progress.
Yeah I don't understand the obsession with making people bang their heads against the wall... on STAGE ONE. Do it on stage 2, or 5. Why does it have to be stage one when you have no health boost, no skill tree unlocked, and no experience with the game. We did exactly what was mentioned, wondered off to level, and ran across the wolf boss. I have no idea why the main road lead you to the harder boss... again, on stage one. Games like Tsushima was kind of like this, where the hardest encounters were before you learn all the cool moves. I sure hope that's the case as I love the story and I wouldn't want to spend half my life trying to 'git good'.
I am in the process of contacting playstation to request a refund. This game is BRUTALLY difficulty and it wasn't advertised as a difficult game. It was advertised as the next GOW
It wouldn’t be so hard if the controls weren’t ass. It’s bad enough you can’t block/parry in the game (first time I’ve ever seen this). The delay from hitting the controls to dodge to the character reacting is slower than it should be.

wish i was into recording gameplay. I was able to beat him before beating the other side boss next to the bell. Took me about 9 tries, the battle i won went on for about 20 minutes due to being careful.

Use the pillars around the fighting area to stun him too. When he crashes into them he will fall over.
At first I thought he gets power from those so I broke them first 😅 I realised later its better to let him crash to them.
Immobilize, bash, run away until immobilize cool down is over and repeat.
This method improved my record against this boss to 1-45.
I’m day 2 in losing to him. He’s teaching me some much needed patience😂

This big head and guangzhi were only chief but more difficult than the white wolf which was supposed to be the yuogui king.

I beat him by leveling up to lvl 20 from dying so much and by that time I was able to best him lol
i beat it in 4 tries cus i figured out you can make him fall over with a light combo
So after I killed the wandering wight….A random NPC ran up and killed me and when I respawned the soul is now gone
Go to respawn shrine to retrieve his soul..
Khamehameha is fixed to hit.You are in the air and got hit but punches that hit floors etcetc...

Tbh this boss was kinda easy, his attacks are easy to dodge, he gets staggered fast. I don’t see why people have trouble even at the start.

Fucked up, killed the frog, same thing, it says "can't pick up souls without guidance"
You need to progress the story a bit more, to unlock spirit absorption. Then it will show up at the shrine
