I mean they sound exactly like any other LX or Cobra / LX bumper equipped GT with pipes that come straight out the back.................which is a great sound of course, but certainly has nothing to do with it being a Notch.
4:04 when you started reving it up. It sounded really close to the classic old school flowmaster push rod engine. The true test will be under load and higher RPMs. Love to see the follow up video to this.
Sound & power guy - I shopped around forever on my coyote swap. Ended up with Stainless Works legend series mufflers & their X-pipe … love the way it sounds & I tend to lean towards the old school muscle sound
Cool! I guessed it was not tuned, but not OHC. Turbos are one of my go to mufflers, but I did put the bullet type (pull off mids) on my 360 Ramcharger.
I remember when the new coyotes came out and it was about half a year before the first cammed one came in our dealership for service. We were a pretty big Ford dealer and they sold a lot of mustangs. I really liked the way that car sounded. I still remember the license plate on it. PWR24-7. That thing hit pretty hard!
I really like that notch. At first against the swap, but I understand it now. That being said, it doesn't sound like a push rod ford, my favorite sound! Still, the coyote is a heck of an engine, and a real runner!!
@foxcastmedia Man I love the sound of that coyote! I agree that a lot of these coyotes out there are just too obnoxious sounding, but this one is music to my ears! My question is… does this car have aftermarket cams or are u saying this car sounds like this mainly because of the exhaust??
I been bending and installing tons of systems over the last 40 years. Too many factors determine sound, from compression to shape of the end of the tailpipe. What sounds awesome to one person sounds like shit to someone else. Hell the tuners in my area think their fart can is great.
The stock cams chop naturally if you lock out vct because they're actually pretty aggressive. I would not lock out vct though bad idea for a street car imo.
i have a 2012 GT with the 5.0 coyote from factory didn't sound bad but it was quiet,i installed GT 500 mufflers and it sounds like a fox body with flowmasters kid you not.
Damn, I'll admin that 79 fooled me. I wish you would have done a couple pulls with it though. One with the camera outside, hearing the car as it drives away, and maybe one from inside.
i have an S650 with the Whipple blower, X pipe and muffler delete. No drone, low RPM's and idle has a nice rumble and WOT is pure music. Had 3 Foxes in my younger days, Cammed and with the right mufflers, i would agree they sounded better.
Mid-mount mufflers FTW. I have a straight-through Magnaflow setup on my Focus ST daily, and it's a solid W in the sound department. Agreed, blat-y Corsas and such ain't where it's at.
I knew it was a coyote swap car. The majority of them do sound like crap, mostly cause of their exhaust choices, I have definitely heard coyote swaps that I like the sound of. I however have also heard sbf’s & bbf’s that sound like crap too for the same reasons… The car is looking amazing Caleb ! And keep up the great work guys !
A lot of them do sound like $hit, usually the very loud ones, a good choice in mufflers, the trucks seem to sound better to me because of the length of the exhaust pipes. A lot of S550 mustangs are way too loud distorts the sound too much. The Road Warrior is coming along great, won't be long for the first fire up.
Anything that can change the way Coyotes sound is worth it in my opinion. Not trying to dis the motor or anyone who likes how it sounds, but to me it just doesn't compare to a pushrod. Maybe it's just depends on what you grew up with. After all, some people like how their Honda Civics sound - who am I to say they're wrong?
The pushrod sounds good but the coyote can too with the right setup. The s197 and older cars sound better than the s550 do also because of the exhaust routing.
Damn I’m glad someone said it! Idk when ear piercing, hair raising exhaust notes beat out good, quality, muscular sound. I’ll be trying Borla XS with an old school H-pipe on my fox coyote swap.
Any one tryna argue coyotes don’t sound like shit just started building and modding mustangs the last 10 years. And if I’m not building a race car I 100% care what the car sounds like, who cares about the power on something you’re building to enjoy . If I wanted to race I’ll coyote swap a foxbody and go all out but I’d never coyote swap a 1994-2004; The 4.6 sounds too good.
People knock Coyote swap foxbodys because they cant afford to do the swap lo haha Once you put a coyote in your car your never ever going back trust me
Coyotes sound like crap, but you have to admit It sounds waaaay better and very close to the old classic pushrod sound. Right at around 4:04 when he slightly revs it up.
Nothing beats a notchback 5.0 with a offroad H-pipe and American Thunder Flowmaster catbacks.
and with a V1 vortech whining a well. :)
I mean they sound exactly like any other LX or Cobra / LX bumper equipped GT with pipes that come straight out the back.................which is a great sound of course, but certainly has nothing to do with it being a Notch.
@@Kevins93cobrapersonally the termi cobra with a kenne bell and spintechs is a much better sound.
4.6 o/r X Borla Stingers
Sure a hatch is always better
I love that car! I can smell the old style interior. ❤❤❤

Sounds amazing! Also your Fox is coming along great! Getting exciting!
I'd love to hear more of this exhaust. Revs, drivebys etc
Absolutely. I thought it was a pushrod
My 2014 gt has stock cats and resonators but has MBRP axle back race mufflers I love the sound! It’s not “Annoying” loud it just sounds perfect
Sound & power guy - I shopped around forever on my coyote swap. Ended up with Stainless Works legend series mufflers & their X-pipe … love the way it sounds & I tend to lean towards the old school muscle sound
Really looking forward to the tune/dyno results. Looking into doing a gen2 f150 5speed set up in my 1995
Grannyote is my favorite build going on right now!
Who cares what it sounds like when everybody is getting a good view of the tail lights.
I used to think the same thing… then I bought a Coyote, it grew on me.
I am madly in love with that ‘79. Saw it at Foxtoberfest back in ‘22. Awesome!!
I've owned a mustang since 97, and i love the regular coyote sound 😂 not lying.
tail pipes make all the differance. I have been saying this since 2005 with the 4.6. This is the whole reason I'm still rocking my 03 MACh1
Nothing sounds like a foxbody 5.0 with Flowmasters.
You fooled me! I thought it was a pushrod
It's a ghost tach to go with your ghost tune!
90 pushrod:
Tired of noise. Decided to do mid lengths, no cats, X pipe, Dynomax Super Turbos, 3" after axle.
👍👍👍😎
Cam lope idle tune
Well you had me on the ghost tune, thats what I thought it was.
Comp Cams does offer stage1 and stage2 muthr thumpr Cams for the Gen3 Coyote
Cool! I guessed it was not tuned, but not OHC. Turbos are one of my go to mufflers, but I did put the bullet type (pull off mids) on my 360 Ramcharger.
a small block ford sounds beautiful it’s gonna be hard to find something as good.
Thank you sir, glad I'm not the only one
Yeah you got me 😂👍🏽
Thank goodness. I thought I was the only one! CANADIAN SUPERMAN APPROVES

Notchback with spintechs all day everyday.
That sounds quite good! I need to stop being lame and swap my 01 Cobra roller.
I been bending and installing tons of systems over the last 40 years. Too many factors determine sound, from compression to shape of the end of the tailpipe. What sounds awesome to one person sounds like shit to someone else. Hell the tuners in my area think their fart can is great.
Sounds very close to my 351W, Bassani cat X, plus Flowmasters.
Curious what yours sounds like. My 351w has all Bassini 1.75” headers, 3” X, and 3” mufflers and tails.
Did you have to extend the gen 3 engine harness to be able to mount the computer on the outside of the frame rail?
Ghost cam! Lol 😆 gotta love the ability for Phasers to make a stock cam act damn near like any cam out there. TiVCT for the win!!!
Well damn! Lolol I stand corrected!
The stock cams chop naturally if you lock out vct because they're actually pretty aggressive. I would not lock out vct though bad idea for a street car imo.

Since going to Paradox Performance Muffler, haven't gone back & never will.
I have the hooker blackheart full exhaust with my yote swap. It sounds amazing if you ask me
First fire up sounded like coyote but that idle was pretty convincing lol
Right when he revved it up around 4:03 it sounds very convincing.
i have an S650 with the Whipple blower, X pipe and muffler delete. No drone, low RPM's and idle has a nice rumble and WOT is pure music. Had 3 Foxes in my younger days, Cammed and with the right mufflers, i would agree they sounded better.
Straight pipes, no resonators, and X pipe are going to be high pitched and raspy.
The Contour Fans work very well.
I did think it! Sounds good tho! I dont hate yotes their just not me! Maybe one day who knows.
I honestly thought that was a pushrod engine you got me
Mid-mount mufflers FTW. I have a straight-through Magnaflow setup on my Focus ST daily, and it's a solid W in the sound department.

That should sound good! Those Borla have nice deep sound
Liked my 01 gt with h pipe and magnaflow magnapack catback. Admit i was thinking it was a cammed motor.
Those GT’s sounded fantastic as well with a good exhaust set up.
They do but the problem is they have the power to keep up with the LS 🤷🏾♂️
They don't always sound like shit you gotta set it up right. The newer s550 with super loud exhausts sound terrible.
I like both. Not even a ford guy. Just a guy who likes cars
i thought it was a pushrod not gonna lie
Lol😂 I did

Sorry but my fox sound good but my coyote I
Has different sound .. both have there own bad ass sounds
All engines are just a properly designed exhaust away from sounding good. That includes and is hugely dependent on header design as well.
my supercharged f-150 coyote sounds so bad at high
People knock Coyote swap foxbodys because they cant afford to do the swap lo haha Once you put a coyote in your car your never ever going back trust me
Sarcasm?
4 cams chopping at once is better than one cam
Bro that don’t chop
Coyote sounds like sh*t? That's news to me.
It’s frequently heard/said amongst the mustang crowd/community is his point and he’s right.
@timsfordovallove5689 cool, that's his opinion.
They really do sound like crap. He cracked the code to making them sound like a pushrod.
@@DessiLu14 🤷🏾 they sound great to me, even in stock form. Maybe I just have excessive earwax buildup or something, idk.
Nope, not fooled, still sounds like crap
Coyotes sound like crap, but you have to admit It sounds waaaay better and very close to the old classic pushrod sound. Right at around 4:04 when he slightly revs it up.
