I got an old (Nikon Mount) Kiron Multi-coated 80-200mm f4 for $5 at my local National Camera Exchange. And the quality is actually really good, especially when stopped down.
if you mean P mode on Lok's camera, it means programme, gives you a bit more control over your camera's settings than full auto, but not quite manual mode
Unrelated to cheap lenses (well, depends on your definition) could you compare some 50mm equivalent micro 4/3 lenses, like the leica one that will launch with the GF3?
I bought the Holga lens last Christmas, and I have to say, it's pretty hard to use. You have to use it like a point and shoot, but also plan out where you shoot. Indoors is waaaay too dark, same thing when its cloudy. It's like having an infinite amount of 120 film.
by the height of the camera, a little bit of shakeness and the contra-plongée when filming, I think it was someone with similar height of Alamby that shot when both Kai and Lok were on screen and was the same person that shot with Lok, because it was a different person that shot with Kai.
I have a question for DRTV and everyone! How does a small pinhole size aperture still allow the entire sensor to pick up light? I know it would work with wide angles, but what about setting your tele zoom lens to f32?
Awesome digitalrev! Imo your videos were going on a decline. But with this video you made it fun, informational, and not just about blatant sexual innuendo. Keep up the great work, this is why I subscribed to you guys.
I was at a photo convention here in Sweden and one store sold the Holga one as "the worlds worst lens", I don't think they exaggerated after trying it out.
hay guy's i love the way you make lances and cameras reviews so i want to ask you is there can i visit you guys n just go out to city in make a review on my pen tax 6x7 using slide film.
Is there any way to use a c-mount lens on a canon body without it being macro? I know infinity focus wont be possible but I think it would be great for working within 4 meters from the camera such as a limited space. Might be slightly more flexible than the 50mm 1.8 lens at 30mm 1.4.
06:57 lol, when Lok noticed the pinball machine and said: "Wow, look at that!" I first thought that he was looking at something else... well, the cameraman was certainly :D
I recently bought a CCTV lens, its a c mount but can be adapted to m43. i bought a 35mm 1.7 it aint the best but certainly not the worst lens you can get especially considering the price of only $30.
is it juz me or everyone? i recieve the subscription update with this video. its stated to be uploaded on 26 aug 2011. and its title of this video is "Holga and Pinwide *DO NOT RELEASE*"
Lok was so hillarious in that one :D
single man, get married, children, buried in the mountain :D
Loks philosophy :D
11:36 look at everyone walking backwards lol
@handsomelok What's wrong with P mode? So which mode you think I shoud had used?
- Lok
what this? you a sinlge man, then you get married and then you have a family and you die in the mountain? lol that crack my laugh
$hit, i nearly ripped off my a$$ laughing !!!!
I just drilled a hole in the body cap for my camera.
How did it go?
11:35 Did anyone else notice that everyone was walking backwards?
@antihak I've got the 50mm f/1.4 OM lens from my dad. It's older than me!
- Lok
you can get a holga lens for nikon mount for under $15 on ebay. when i ordered mine it shipped direct from the manufacturer. fun little toy lens.
Hahaha 2:05 "You don't judge a book by it's cover!"
"Yeah well it's not a book"
Digital Rev should review some M42 lenses on DSLRs.
I got an old (Nikon Mount) Kiron Multi-coated 80-200mm f4 for $5 at my local National Camera Exchange. And the quality is actually really good, especially when stopped down.
3:49 remember if you see cameras in the street be sure to walk around in frame like a confused person
Lok: I set it to P-Mode, so I can get some practice first. 4:24
Awesome! I was wondering what the P on my DSLR stands, now I know. Thanks Lok.
WOW!!! Just bought myself a Holga and PinWide. Can't wait to test them on a royal wedding. Another two pieces of beauty added to my arsenal.
Just as I was about to sleep, new videos! WOOTS!
if you mean P mode on Lok's camera, it means programme, gives you a bit more control over your camera's settings than full auto, but not quite manual mode
It’s like watching the old Top Gear trio, but talking about cameras instead of cars.
>Nikon Strap
>Canon Camera
It's like drinking pepsi in a coca cola bottle
Unrelated to cheap lenses (well, depends on your definition) could you compare some 50mm equivalent micro 4/3 lenses, like the leica one that will launch with the GF3?
Or you can mount the Pinwide on a Sony a7s II with an adapter and shoot at crazy high ISOs :)
Kai's "jealousy of cats" statement at the end. LOL
Lok was great here.
Loc's english is getting much better. Good job man.
@victuey you have to look if they have Nikon F mount.

I tried the Pinwide once. That was enough.
And, yeah, we need more Lok!
6:51 Cute dog.
Lok's focus range explanation on Holga is the single funniest thing on DRev ever.
Hilariously, that thing on the back of the Holga lens with the tiny holes is removable. At least mine was.
I have a question for DRTV and everyone! How does a small pinhole size aperture still allow the entire sensor to pick up light? I know it would work with wide angles, but what about setting your tele zoom lens to f32?
3:54 best freaking description of the focusing aid ever!
@MrLunxP it depends on how fast they will adapt to the english language and where they are in the Uk
Awesome digitalrev! Imo your videos were going on a decline. But with this video you made it fun, informational, and not just about blatant sexual innuendo. Keep up the great work, this is why I subscribed to you guys.
yes i have found the holga lens on amazon.com :D and send that to them :)
great video but whas this e-p1 loks personal private camera?
I wish at the end of your 12 min video, you would of shown some of the shots of the holga lens
is alamby the one recording the video!?
Loved the Da Vinci scandal reference. Didnt they already made a lens cap pinhole?
bought the holga lens for nikon, package said it was f/8, actually metered at closer to f/22
Can you please do the flashes as well? A cheapo range:)
YAY! Digitalrev.
The Holga lens actually looked kind of cool. I might slap one of those on my D3 and test it out.
i'm waitin for ur review of the sony a77 and a65 :)
I was at a photo convention here in Sweden and one store sold the Holga one as "the worlds worst lens", I don't think they exaggerated after trying it out.
is it Alamby doing the filming?
What camera do you guys use to record your videos?
who filmed this episode?
Any link to where we can get that Holga Lens?
hay guy's i love the way you make lances and cameras reviews so i want to ask you is there can i visit you guys n just go out to city in make a review on my pen tax 6x7 using slide film.
Putting a $25 lens on a $2500 dollar camera. This is why I love DigitalRevTV.
u guys should do more vid
@96mrtimi
you can tell its alamby b/c the camera is aiming up at lok + kai
@rorrt at least as long as you don't get too close, anything under a couple of metres starts needs focusing, everything else is fine
you should have tried a super slow sutter speed with the pin hole to get a nice street shot
It suits an item about Holga, which is also about going back (in time)
@mjones410 I second this. You can get the 25mm f/1.4 CCTV + adapter for $30 USD. It lets in way more light and takes beautiful shots.
M42 lens
Does Kai have his own Twitter or facebook the man is so funny! He's such a legend!
Can you do a review of the Helios 44M lenses please?
Is there any way to use a c-mount lens on a canon body without it being macro? I know infinity focus wont be possible but I think it would be great for working within 4 meters from the camera such as a limited space. Might be slightly more flexible than the 50mm 1.8 lens at 30mm 1.4.
@Cub140 that's crazy, I didn't notice at all.
"That's a Holga fixed on a 5D. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen." Haha! Love Lok.
They posted your review on their website haha.
06:57 lol, when Lok noticed the pinball machine and said: "Wow, look at that!" I first thought that he was looking at something else... well, the cameraman was certainly :D
@MrGbounds Arhh, thought it may be, thanks a lot mate :)
I recently bought a CCTV lens, its a c mount but can be adapted to m43. i bought a 35mm 1.7 it aint the best but certainly not the worst lens you can get especially considering the price of only $30.
I am confused... Does "P" stand for practice or pinhole?
@gentel916 alamby isn't here as well?
I actually noticed the difference in the colour of the chair before Lok said anything about it.
Now i feel like God. Thank you.
@96mrtimi
it's maybe Alamby or just the tripod holding it.
did Alamby film this?
kai where do you get your cool t-shirts?
@hithereimdan2 Also don't they accept paypal payments for products on the digital rev site? I haven't checked but I would assume they would! lol.
WHO WAS HOLDING THE CAMERA WHILE LOK WAS WITH KAI? btw, where's alamby?
I'm waiting for the next video to be uploaded because this one showed up twice...
Yongnuo made a canon 50mm 1.8 replica you could buy new for $45. They are even ready to release a 1.4 version sometime soon :]
I bought one, it's not bad but the focus ring is in a messed up place
DexterGoneWild id much rather buy the canon one for $50 more. Much better lens.
Review the Sony A77 please.....when they come out. TQ
You should do more of these =D
Would a reverse ring be more fun for under $40?
Can you take video with the holga lens, or will it be too dark? Also, how long of shutter speed is needed to not have complete darkness?
whe I see a digrev vid that is 12 min long I can always expect 10 min of horsing around
WHOSE HOLDING THE VIDEO CAMERA?
does dirt get to sensor trough pinhole since there is no mirror?
You say 40$, but in discription is 50$. So how much you get?
when loc is talking .. who is filming ?
3:50 This is the single funniest thing I've seen on DigitalRevTV, and it wasn't said by Kai LOLOLOLOLOLOL
Dude. Your shirt. Where to buy? >:o
Single man > Get married > Family tree > Then buried... in the mountain! LOVE IT!
nut sure, but usually they post photo from rev in their flickr page, try to check
Do you have an english version of this?
nice video, helpful
I recently bought the Holga lens for my Nikon for only €9 ($10.43). I haven't properly tried it yet, but I love making the most out of very little.
i want lok's bag...anywhere can i get it
Hey Kai! I has the black one of your shirt!!
why does Kai use nikon strips on canon? its not the first time i see it but i dont know why...
is it juz me or everyone? i recieve the subscription update with this video. its stated to be uploaded on 26 aug 2011. and its title of this video is "Holga and Pinwide *DO NOT RELEASE*"
