My wife and I are in the process of buying an Airstream that has a deep crease dent above the wheel well. You’ve given me some ideas on the repair. Thanks!
Just a quick comment on your dad’s rivet gun - the fitting you use in the tool is the one that fits the shaft of the rivet (the part of the rivet that gets broken off). The tool must be able to grab the shaft in order to pull it.
You can also use the pops a dent tool. It has a large bridge with a screw type of puller. You just twist the top nut and it pulls on the dent. A little more controlled than the slide hammer.
Keep those videos coming! Sometimes for those small hail dents you can use a hair dryer or heat gun on a medium setting and heat the metal up then use dry ice to rapidly cool the area which oftentimes will make the dent pop out. Worth a try, just be careful when handling the dry ice, you don’t want to let bare skin touch it.
Every year when we come back I walk around the entire trailer and inspect for dents and scratches. What I can’t pull out we remove the interior panels needed and hammer out any dents. Looking always at rivets that need replaced with the correct methods needed. Typically this process only takes a few days to keep dent free and water tight.
This is good to see. My partner and I are working on restoring a 1960 Forte camper with a metal shell. We have been discussing how to approach fixing the dents. I’d never heard of this method, but we might use it. Thanks!
Yes. Definitely hail dents. It would take so much time to take them out...best to get the big ones and then leave the little ones. I like the way you lit it... beauty marks. I would agree. Nothing more attractive then a few beautiful marks that make it or something unique and one of s kind. Great work on the rivets too.
Kayla, please try BBKang dent removal kit from Amazon 60pc $59.99 works fantastic on dents and it removed a crease in my 2020 Flying Cloud Airstream! Key is to remove the glued on pulling tab BEFORE (with rubbing alcohol) it pops off, it you use the squeeze trigger tool serval times on the same dent you can massage the aluminum skin back out with making a dent an "outie" by pulling too much. Take your time and be patient and you will love the results!
The Airstream gets better every day. Will you be posting any more vids in the future? I finished watching your entire channel and enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for sharing and best wishes on your journey to find the meaningful simple life.
Paintless dent repair on cars use metal rods or rounded blocks of metal to get behind the dent from the back side and massage the dent to remove the dent. If you can get behind the dent by taking some of the interior liner down it is fairly easy to gently work the dent out from the back side. If you have 2 people you can have someone hold a block of metal on the outside and gently tap the dent from the back side to remove.
I really wish you would have kept the part of the video when you realized you have the rivet in the wrong way. I think it would have been funny. I'm loving you videos so far. Keep up the good work. You are doing amazing.

I love your ambition and not afraid to roll your sleeves up and get to work.
It refreshing to see a someone put in the time and effort for the reward. Keep up the great work!

I actually have a 2021 Airstream 27 FB Globetrotter, it’s so nice I’m almost afraid to use it.
Good job…the only thing I can think of is that if you got up at a higher angle it would have been a little easier.
How did you remove the plastic caps after it was glued on
Good job
Is there a link to the t bar kit
