The Build Begins! Traxxas TRX-4 Lifted Ford Bronco Project Truck - Series Pt 1 Driveline | RC Driver

- We’ve been busy at the RC Driver workshop, but managed to get some work done on our Traxxas TRX-4 Lifted Ford Bronco Project Truck build. Here it is, Part 1! In this video we start the build and follow the instructions as a general guide. The first steps are to assemble the driveline. The transmission will be assembled in bone stock form on our truck, but we do have some tips to pass along while we skip through the assembly. After we’ll get into assembling the portal axles. Here we’ll start to see some of the option parts used in this build like the Lift kit. We’ll also show off some aluminum pivot balls being installed into the steering links. If you’ve never seen a TRX4 go together, you’re in luck, here you’ll get to see some of the features that set this rig appart.

I just finished my build.
Now I have to figure out how to get all the servos “programmed”
I get a lot of hum and I don’t want to wear them out.
I thought about not buying the kit and he’s building it from the ground up built my stampede 4 x 4 from the ground up but it gave me hell from when I built it

While you're upgrading, I'm surprised that you didn't go with the metal axle housings and/or at least some of the brass running gear parts. Good informative video, regardless👍👍

Ok Greg u got 12 hours to build this, lol This was my 3rd build ever when it first came out n I sat down at 7am n was finished at 7pm, its a great kit, much better directions then the Tamiya directions im use to

U must have an older kit because the newer kit has a fuseable link on the wires for the micro servo,they seem to holdup better than older servos.

Hi, what's you're opinion of running the shocks with no shock oil. I've seen a few TH-camrs do this with nothing detrimental to the handling. Must say I run shock oil in all my rc car's and trucks.
Does the TRX 4 kit come with the grease needed for the transmission and differential or do you have to buy it separately?
Yes, it does come with grease. A pretty good grease too!
Damn 200 bucks for 4 shocks and some links? What am I missing here? Love the TRX4 but damn lol.
sad part is if you bought just the shocks it would cost you over $100 alone. I bought RC4WD King shocks a few years ago and they were close to $60 a pair but well worth it they improved flex and ride of my custom Tamiya CR-01. Vanquish titanium steering links for my Axial Bomber ran me around $30.
