Physical game media isn't very useful in the 9th console generation. The games need to be installed on a drive anyways. I agree with all digital, just not a cylinder, cuz it's Xbox, it's gotta be a box
The only way this would be acceptable is internal hardware upgrade

My problem are the controllers. I expected the thumb stick and button upgrades that were supposed to make the controller quieter and remove the stick drift. It’s underwhelming that they are the exact same
I use xbox 360 controllers on my PC. One and series x controllers are garbage. Drift in like 2 weeks.
600$ for a console is crazy. Especially one that has less than 3 years of support left.
$600 for 2TB is wild.

@@Dabestbroyo7790 it is 100 dollars more for a huge upgrade in performance. This is a $500 console being sold to gullible americans for $600(cause aint nobody outside US buying this shit for 600). Goodluck with that!
Didn't know that removing functions of device is called an upgrade. Thought it was a downgrade, but oh well...
For sure, crazy world
The biggest upgrade is LOSING the disc drive?
Id MUCH rather have a disc than a digital download that requires wifi. Gosh i pray they never do away with physical copies. This is fine but if too many people buy these they will use that as an excuse to do away, saving them tons of money and resources, but taking away the luxury of owning a physical copy to play offline any time or day we choose. Anybody who got that last holiday deal for the $350 Walmart Xbox series X, scored with this presentation
yeah, by the end of last year i got one for 359,00€ in Europe (specifically Germany) which was a STEAL, the white one looks sick tho!

Phil said no series pro, and suposedly 2026 will be next gen for xbox so that handheld will be the next gen for xbox.
Physical game media isn't very useful in the 9th console generation. The games need to be installed on a drive anyways.
There are only 3 reasons you might want a disk drive:
- You're an avid collector who loves to display physical media
- You have a very slow internet connection
- You share games with your friends
Hardcore retro gaming enthusiasts and collectors like myself are a tiny minority and always will be, so Sony's approach of using external disk drives makes more sense to me.
missed the - play older gen games for either console on either PS5 or Xbox One
@@palidanek74 Also missed - Xbox can control prices of games. No longer can you buy second hand games a cheap discount. Going to suck Big Time.....
They can keep that discless shit
If they removed the disk drive are they upgrading the wifi to wifi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and a more efficient cpu?
That's what they should do to tbh...
I absolutely love the way the new special edition Series X looks. The speckled finish and the green base are just *chef's kiss*. Hopefully they sell the special edition controller separately, it looks great!
Man you are easy to please
Let’s be honest they should of just discontinued the series S entirely. And also it kind of sucks now they if you want to play discs they force you to go with the most expensive console. Unlike how Sony just lets you add a disc drive if you want one simple. I just think they would get copyright claimed if they did the same thing.
Austin always be getting these exclusive looks 😂
because he spews their "upgrade" garbage to the actual downgrade we got.
its a downgrade. no disc means more controlling on what you have to pay.
The problem is the games and they focus on this?
I find it laughable that they went from claiming to be passionate about games preservation to unveiling new all-digital consoles in the span of about two minutes.
They mean they'll try to keep your digital library valid and won't remove BC games from your console
Physical media is dead and has been for a while
You want physical media to live on? Create a new media type
Disc's are obsolete now theyed shatter like glass at the nessisary read speeds for modern gaming that's why they're ripped to the SSD
Pay more for a discless xbox? No thanks 😊
But I don't have any previous games disc and I don't really intend to as well so, would say it's a good buy for me🤔????

bro its 449 for the all digital one
@@lilhusain not at the time this video was aired, besides if I buy the disk version of the game and get bored I can sell it or trade it in, can't do that with a digital game and they cost more for less.
"This is a dummy unit" (xbox series x is plugged in with light on) same price as one with a disc drive. Make it make sense people
Shouldn’t the 2TB model be disk less and not the other way round? 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah probably lol
Physical media used represent a complete playable copy to keep and trade/gift. Nowadays the average player can call it good without the extra step. Tbh us enthusiasts will have to clamor for complete games offline to move forward. Even downloading digital licenses to pair with physical copies is reasonable. Gamers deserve the choice imo.
Series S should have a disck. 😅
They should have done that
Not going to happening pal, MS is literaly saying buy tge cheaper one, that of course is only digital and the one with disk with 2TB is $600 just crazy, to think PS5 pro will be around $600 to $650.
Disks don't sell gamepass subscriptions.
That's what the x is lol
@@Dreadeyeknight yeah but they done the series X with no disc. How about they should do a series s with a disk for a cheaper price?
I hate how everything is so reliant on internet with these new consoles when it used to be so easy and simple on the old Xbox 360s
Well i have absolutely no interest in digital only, not just because i still get games on disc but because my Xbox is also my designated Blu-ray player for my bedroom. Now I'm in the UK but i presume that the 2tb version will probably still be just as expensive here. And i presume no new tech has been used in the 2tb series X so why spend that when i can just save a bit of money and get a 2tb expansion card instead?

Don't expect much in the specs department once Microsoft releases that information.
Microsoft are mocking it. 2TB is nowhere near good enough, the pad should have been an elite. This is not good enough because they will announce the Elite version soon. These next gen consoles simply are not next gen, everyone was hoodwinked
Haters gonna hate. Xbox smashed the show and added hardware to please everyone's preferences, which is a W. The only thing missing is a disk version series S.

People complaining about disc drive removal. I am all for physical games, but majority of gamers say otherwise, just look at game pass and why it's so popular. Majority of gamers don't buy physical games, they "rent" them from game pass. And that's sad....

there is literally no reason to flood the market with all of these new Xbox consoles, all it will do is lower the brand value and confuse consumers.
This video should have ended in under 3 minutes.
They pushed this NEW XBOX announced, right after theirs speech about "TOTAL XBOX BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY ON NEW XBOX CONSOLES , WITH ALL XBOX GAMES YOU OWN ON MEDIA"... then pushing a full digital console , and news that Xbox 360 XBLA store will close... The hypocrisy is insane ...
"New" doing some heavy lifting.

M$ dropped the ball. The sX not getting smaller, not having an optional attachable disk drive gives Sony the clear edge.

Whered you get those prices man? Totally off. Atm on Amazon the Series X with drive is £379 ($310 or so).
Series S is £249 ($200 about).
Man, wtf is this?! Lmao
This in my opinion makes the playstion better purely because you can get a digital version then down the road buy the disc drive and sorted
no new controller as rumored back then
I buy all my consoles upon release so no need for other variations with minor changes or updates, that includes”pro” models. This is for ppl late to the game or collectors. I’ll be waiting for next gen consoles.
I wish there was a white version of the disk X. the max the 2tb should've gone for is $550
SO get the black Xbox with a disk drive. Got it.
Why can't ya charge your controller at this point? It's literally the only knock against Xbox.
You can buy a rechargeable battery, or just plug in the controller at all times if you don’t want AA Batteries. At least Microsoft gives you options instead of being stuck with only one form of power for the controller.
@tylernielsen24 sonys option is the best though. If Microsoft wants to create a gaming network that includes pc, charging the controller that comes included with the system would make sense.
