    you shouldn't be allowed to sell "unclaimed" baggage, that just incentivize lack of control/theft because now the airport has a monetary incentive to not give you your baggage back.
    Also there is NO WAY a 1000$+ laptop or modern phone doesn't have a way to track back the OG owner. Seems very scummy.

    This reminds me of the scandal schiphol airport (NL) did a few years ago.
    They had major staff shortage so a lot of baggage got lost.
    There were bagage carts all over the airport and some people put airtags on them so they knew excactly where to look but they were not allowed to look for their luggage. Instead people would get paid an x amount of money (I think €400 ish).
    Later schiphol sold all the luggage claiming it was "lost baggage"
    Weird thing is that this is legal.

    It is kind of nuts how much Apple stuff they're able to factory reset and sell. If your Apple device is password protected, i didn't think you could factory reset it. I thought only Apple could do that. So either there's a ton of people walking around with no password protection or Unclaimed Baggage has a secret work around to wipe Apple devices.

It was the same way with a package that got lost in the mail, which is another thing they do…the USPS sells “lost” packages. How they’ve never been sued for any of this is mind boggling to me. They just pay a flat amount for your lost luggage. So, if you lost your bags and your credit card company is going to give you $1500 or whatever the number is, but the actual amount of stuff you lost was less, people will just get the money and abandon the bag.

    If its not obvious already theyre just selling used items. Thats it. Maybe some things cone from unclaimed or lost luggage but i wouldn't count on that

    How are laptops and handhelds "lost"? Anything with a lithium battery is not allowed in checked baggage. It's supposed to be in your carry on. Did they just not grab it when they got off the plane?

    • @Goatfer
      @Goatfer 15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Or an employee tried to steal it, got spooked and ditched it around the airport. No way to prove which traveller owned it so off to the store it goes.

      Very few items are actually unclaimed or lost. They're just selling random used items

    As someone from the area who has been to the brick and mortar store several times, I can tell you 100% you just learned what we all know. It's not worth it. Scottsboro is in the middle of nowhere. Don't take the plane ride.

    I bought the Trimui when it was first released and paid about 80 CAD. Pound per pound, it's a rockstar for anything up to the PS1, plus it's got some excellent custom firmware available as well.

    It ferls like they simpy often dont "loose" stuff, they just steal it and hope ensurance will cover the costs. Its like this with German DHL. Like 1/10 packages I get or send out is "getting lost" not to be found again. I mean, its clearly the employee doibg this, cause I always got the money back from the conpaky, so...
