Just had mine this week! I was nervous. Looking back, it was wayyyyy easy. Felt NOTHING. I'm so glad I did it. It was a nice experience. If you're getting one, don't worry! You'll feel so comfy falling asleep so fast and you'll wake up feeling great.

@@Rico401Prov I say let the anxiety be there and do it anyway! Our brains think they know everything…they don’t! Trust me on this. I have had terrible anxiety issues for years. You deserve the privilege of a colonoscopy
@@Rico401Prov the prep can get to you & the bathroom trips. Get some baby wipes & a vaseline type item for when you wipe. The procedure itself is a breeze & you'll be out during it. I've had 11 over the last 40 years. My dad died of colon cancer at 50, one of his brothers & my cousin 3 years ago. This time I ate minimally for several days before prep day. It made elimination easier. But doctors use different preps. For years it was go-litely. This new doc uses Mylanta & magnesium citrate.
@@Rico401Provdid you end up going? You should go. I wanted to cancel due to nerves too, but the experience wasn't bad at all - and I was also lightly sedated. You can choose how you'd like to have yours.
Congratulations on being cancer free! I'll be prepping tomorrow for Monday. This time for this entire week I pretty much ate a somewhat bland diet. No meat, no veggies, no fruit, no nuts. Had toast & scrambled eggs, or some pasta with a little butter. No seasonings other than a little s&p. Hoping it will help ease the elimination 😉
Had mine last month and as I have Gastrophoresis I had to do a two day fast..ugh, then clean out with Miralax and those little orange laxative pills..was a pretty easy cleanout but I was starving after two days of no food!
The result is so worth the few hours of annoyance. No embarrassment thanks to the lovely quick sleep meds you take, and not much issue afterwards, though I recommend not making plans for the day. Do this for yourself and your family!
Today is my prep day for my first colonoscopy and I’ll start drinking my half gallon at 5 this evening thanks for the tip of the mio and apple juice.. wondering if I would need a diaper or some sort of pad afterwards
Don't be nervous at all, you'll be fine! I had mine 4 days ago and the only complaint I have is that I need to pass some stool. You'll probably feel weird inside the following day or two, but that's to be expected.
Today is my prep for my procedure tommarrow amd baby stay by your bathroom I'm so hungry I'm irritated this my first time but beef br9th chicken br9the I have jello lemon k8nd ugh and popcysles is somewhat help I though I can eat pasta but my d9ctor said no solid foods I be glad when the early morning come so I can have it d9ne I'm so hungry but it's worth it and on top of that have to get both endoscopy as well and I'm a bit scared!
What a coincidence...I just had my colonoscopy YESTERDAY....the prep they ordered for me was called Suprep and when mixed with yellow Gatorade, wasn't bad at all 🎉
Not for me they found like what they said is called a pallet some grown something inside so I have to do another test three years from now and I got mine done today on 8/23/24.
I ate 1000 more calories than what i usually eat the day before my prep lol i was fine with all that extra food and i think it helped me not to be as hungry during my prep. I didn't mind the prep, but the not eating part that was the worst for me. All in all it, the experience wasn't as bad as i thought it would be.
I barely ate a few days before, followed all the water. I didnt want jello, broth, i vomitted up 3 sips after second bottle of suprep....very weak and sick. They couldnt really see good, full of stool, however, found a pre cancer polyp. I dont know if i can ever ge thru another. Even had a bout of diahrea the day before the prep. Hopefully, i dont already have some cancer in there😢
I wasn’t hungry during my prep. I had to take two caps full of Miralax every 2 hours in 12oz of any clear liquid. I highly recommend (if possible) taking it with grape or apple juice. I tried propel for the first dose but ended up feeling very nauseous. The juice really covered up the taste and kept any hunger away. I hope that any future Colonoscopies go well for you!
@doodlebug5486 I don't do well with laxatives. Never tried miralax, but can't handle dulcolax and some others. The dr is recommending sutab pills, but you have to take 24 pills in a 24 hr period. I'm not sure my stomach can handle it. I'm very scared of it. I have to redo it, and I am now at a high risk of colorectal cancer😢
@@jesusis1459 They had me take 2 ex-lax squares in the morning and then at night, it's a chewable laxative that tastes like chocolate. I don't do well with pills either so I choose the chewable option. MiraLax was super easy to get down and it had no taste or smell when added to liquid. I didn't have any major issues when it came to the both of them and I tend to have a sensitive stomach. I'm wishing you the best! Just keep in contact with your doctor and express your concerns, a good doctor will always make sure you're comfortable and hopefully stress free!
The prep drink isn’t that bad once you find the right combination. I took everything in grape juice and other than the constant trips to the bathroom I really can’t complain.
How is it your third colonoscopy? You look so healthy 💓 I know we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but I just thought it's people like me that struggle with an ED , addiction and chronic illnesses. Congratulations on being cancer free. I agree the bowel prep is the worst 😅
Mine tasted like the salt & sugar solution combined with some very sweet lemonade. Made it difficult to drink without water but gave the calories I needed because I wasn't hungry for at least a day after that 😂

@@AbigailR-w5h yes I ended up going. Fully sedated and honestly that whole process was more preferable than getting teeth pulled
What a great video! Thank you! 😊
The worst part of colonoscopy is the prep. The procedure is worth the feeling you're cancer free. The twilight sedation provides for a great nap.
Thanks for the tips and I am so pleased you're cancer free!
You have a very professional sounding voice. You could do tv advertisements lol

had my Tuesday, the prep was the hardest thing to do, everything else was great
I have a question . Do i need to take a 2days off for colonoscopy preparation . 1 day for fasting and 1 day for the colonoscopy day ?
So happy for you 🎉

I can't believe we can put a man on the moon and a rover on Mars, but we can't figure out how to do a colonoscopy without this nasty drink.
💯 agree!!

I had mine wensday..the juice taste awful
Has anyone here had it done without sedation?
Having one in the morning. Soo nauseous from the prep. 🤢
Lets not and say we did 😂
Add lemon crystal light to the yum liquid and use a smoothie straw big one and drink it fast. This way it’s tolerable.
Had mine 2 weeks ago-normal.
The main question I have is how this woman is 45 or older?
If someone is experiencing symptoms at any age, they should speak with their doctor about getting screened for colorectal cancer.
I’m 45yrs ild should i get colonoscopy done?
