I like the way you think of treasures. The question would be better if it was “I made this deck, now. Which treasure of the ones I got offered makes my deck better” rather than “which treasures are there? Ahh okay, now I’ll make a deck to be able to use those treasures”
An old suggestion of Regis' is to have the passive treasures offered before choosing the cards for the deck instead of getting passives after the first game. I like that idea. They would more easily define decks but it opens up for changed play styles. No more avoiding cards to avoid unwanted treasures.
I totally agree with making the tresures being more general. As it is now you're building your decks around trasures that are now made to appear more often in your deck. I believe what made single player stuff so exciting is the need to improvise and try to fit your deck to the treasures you get, instead of the other way around. I like the idea of class specific treasures A LOT more. Mage generally casts a lot of spells, so add some treasures that synergizes with that to their pool, that are generally good, would be a lot more fun. Something that is lost in this system is the very specific themed stuff, but what you could do is make it so that everyone gets a free passive treasure of their choice at the start of the game. And I mean any passive treasure, maybe you can add a special slot when building your deck for a passive treasure. This can get overwhelming for newbies, but then you can just lock some of them behind achivements or stuff like that. I personally want duels to be like a crazy version of arena. I like the idea of getting to pick some of your cards, but I don't like how duels has a "meta", and how refined decks can be. I want more chaos!
Hey regis I love your Duels content, I know it's not your favorite but I would love to see you try a "meta" deck in duels. I think it would be super interesting to see an expert like you show just how strong the strong decks of duels are. You have a fantastic ability to make runs work and it would be super interesting to see that skill of yours applied to something like relic hunter or any of the other super consistent decks.
I could imagine a mechanic to solve passives and treasures offered by a bit. What about rerolls? 2 rerolls on passives and 2 rerolls on treasures over the whole run. That way, if you feel like getting robbed at a certain point, you try again. I feel like this would be fun!

Yeah. Maybe instead of less powerful treasures, maybe make it not as easy to accidentally get a treasure that's more or less useless to you. Like you shouldn't get a deathrattle passive just because you have Reconnaissance for a thief rogue deck. Make it a minimum of 3 of any specific keyword or theme in your deck before they give you treasures that specify to them.
Well, that was exactly why I said I think the fun can come from your deck, and in fact that could create more craziness because it might allow a bunch of options to support a treasure instead of one really narrow option. The only reason it seems like decks can't generate enough craziness on their own right now is that they're hamstrung by powerful single-synergy treasures and hyper aggression. There's no opening to do crazy things from a deck standpoint, because hyper refined strategies lock you out. If you open that door a little, you might have a wider array of unusual stuff getting played, and it could feel even more absurd and varied as a result.
@@RegisKillbin I think a lack of strong defensive treasures is an issue too: having more treasures that incentivise long games and help you survive to do crazy late-game shenanigans would be a big help, since almost all good treasures are tempo or agression based.

Regis, you mentioned that you liked the armour deck theme but aren't keen on the bombs hero power, do you feel this hero power (and others) would be better balanced if they "upgrade throughout the run" the same way henchman does or cards like conviction do within the duel?
What are you talking about? You usually don't start from the worst in buckets. You talk through each one then pick the one which has the most meme potential. Barring that you pick whatever supports the deck.
It's odd how I haven't seen streamers in situations against neptulon kill one hand and one hand only, against him, a full clear is best, but if you can't full clear, the breakpoint of him having 1 hand means it's 12 damage instead of 14 if you clear both hands, and 24 if you clear nothing
Yeah I really see what you mean with lack of card choice, there's just no space or not enough draw or value generation for this deck, which I am happier about because it's annoying to play and play against
Leviathan can't be on board with Neptulon. I have been playing some Big Warrior. Every single time, if any of Neptulon's hands are on the board, Leviathan will be bugged in the exactly same way even on mobilestone.
Pants party is totally stream sniping considering the amount of thimes we see him and the "Chance" He runs the quest line that hard counters Bomb Warrior. Hate people like that man:(
