He is like a Father to Bruce - and Bruce is like a Son to him. Alfred was not just very "loyal" to the Wayne Family - he deeply respected them.
And when they died, Alfred could just have said : *N~aah, i quit.* and walk away. But he didn't. He would have never brought it over his Heart to leave little Bruce behind.
He *HAD* to stay. That goes far beyond what a normal Servant would do or is obliged to do. Alfred is a Legend in his own way. He was the Family that Bruce needed when his Parents were no more.
I am shocked actually that ANYONE would call Alfred just *Batman's little Butler.* 😅

The thing that separates Bruce from L is that Bruce wanted to be smarter and placed just as much commitment on sharpening his cognitive prowes as his physical abilities.
I think it's unfair to compare detectives from vastly different worlds. Detectives like Holmes and L are closer to the realm of realism, than Batman. Batman, with all the years of stories, has had so many supernatural occurrences, that it becomes hard to compare feats. I'd say that if you take any decent detective like Holmes, L, Batman, Columbo, etc, and put them in another world, with enough time, they will adapt to that world. That's what detectives do. I think they are capable of the other's intellectual feats.
Yeah, Batman only became a detective in a world where supernatural bullshit was already the norm. L lived in a world that had no supernatural bullshit recorded since religious texts were written centuries ago, yet still managed to track down the owner of a supernatural mass murder device.
Objectively, Batman has the more impressive feats. But personally, I'm FAR more impressed by L. Batman just had more opportunity for those feats.
Even if you ignore all that, think about the way batman solves a case. He is practically omnipresent, he can be anywhere and access any piece of information as needed by the plot on the merit of being batman. Cameras anywhere, unlimited funds to practically bend the city to his will, any clue can be fed into a computer and just tell him the solution. Not that he even needs that, just by being batman he can hack into any system be in any shadow interrogate anyone. Holmes has a home made chemistry set, a war vet, a collection of newspapers, an encyclopedia, some homeless kids that might have heard a rumor and a magnifying glass. His super power is noticing the exact perfect details that doyle subtly writes in to make what seems like wild assumptions in retrospect really be simple observations and logic. Peak Batman? It's solved, why? He's batman that's why.
@TheMovieCave You're right. Holmes, in my opinion, makes more sense. It's better written than Batman at least. Holmes uses a lot of tools as much as Batman, as you rightfully made note of, but Holmes' writing is mostly meticulously sensible in his explanations to the solving of a mystery. On top of that, Holmes is like Batman from a time before modern Batman, with all his technology and tools on his side. Had he been in modern day, he'd utilize AI, computers, drones, etc. , like Batman. I give Holmes the edge for his passion for truth and exact knowledge, whereas Wayne only became a detective hero because of his parent's death. Holmes has a need and drive for detection, as implied in the stories, truth is power, and he loves to learn for that reason alone. So much so, Holmes usually performs experiments for the sake of learning. Heck, he even furthered the field of forensics in real life. In his own world, he developed an agent that can detect blood better than commonly practiced test. He's just so...progressive, in the field of detection. Which has saved lives and solved cases in extraordinary ways. I just prefer Holmes for the realism, mostly which he is grounded in. I feel like I can respect him and some other detectives more than Batman for the sheer brilliance of the writing with the characters. If you gave them all that Batman has, it would be used in a more believable way, but that would make them seem lesser than Batman in the eyes of viewers. Comparing a character like Batman to these other characters would be kinda odd to do since Batman is...Batman. Who is actually just an exaggerated version of Holmes.

Batman can outsmart him, not because of his natural intelligence as much as his hard work and experience with the dc universe ( he had to deal with mafia, genius psychopaths, supervillains, aliens, magical creatures, gods and primordial beings (talking about the endless)), while L who is a genius only dealt with street level threaths and a god complex student.

I never compared both because batman sinply has toon force of intelligence.
I always divided the intelligence spectrum into realist and unrealistic.
Charachters like Sherlock, L, Harvey Specter have a realistic intelligence because we can see trhough their reason and understand it.
And people like iron man, batman, reed richards they are just smart and u accept it because the writers can never explain how they think.

“Toon force” is the wrong way to look at it. What he has is a common trope in fiction that is better thought of as “magic intelligence.” Magical intelligence is basically someone just inexplicably knowing/learning anything and everything and having it explained by “they’re super smart” without any actual insight into how they learn things or reason through problems. This is super common in comics, and also very common in anime. It’s even common in movies and TV shows that are ostensibly about smart characters, such as adaptations of Sherlock Holmes.

I agree with this outlook though I don't personally prefer the term toon force for it. Yes, there's a gap between unrealistic and realistic. However, there's a further gap between showing and telling. L we are shown is smart through his reasoning and while he does make mistakes, the author definitely attempted to the best of his ability to execute it and did so in a compelling way. Batman we are most often told is smart and the reason why he can do it is because he can. This applies beyond a level of dealing with magical or scifi or things we'd categorize as toon stuff which we understand and well into places where he should more often be able to do a better job of reasoning. Or it often happens that Batman is aided by his database and gadgets a lot of times where he has a computer search for people fitting certain parameters. To me, this is a more impressive computer than an impressive detective. I'm sure that in the cases where he's allowed to be a detective, Batman is just fine. However, in the vast majority of his material, he just isn't one and is an outright poor one from a logic standpoint. A lot of his detective work amounts to clue gathering from crime scenes and he's quite good at this which is why I'd classify him not as a particularly good detective in story most of the time (though he's supposed to be) and more a crime scene analyst.
If we go by what we're told, Batman is of course superior in the same way that if we were told he had an IQ of 1 trillion and accepted that, that'd make him smarter. However, he's not such in the way he's actually shown. Maybe there is a really good series of Batman doing detective work that delves into his thinking as the primary driver of the series but if I certainly haven't seen it.
This would be so lopsided in Batmans favor that its almlst unfair. Batmans feats are simply inhuman while Ls feats are at least logically humanly possible to do.

Batman is very strict on his no kill rule, while L is alittle more in the grey area when it comes to killing, but it’s only to those who really deserve it like Kira.
If anything Batman would just give him a stern talking too about killing and L would just shrug it off but respect Batman’s determination.
One thing for sure is that they would bond over the fact both are orphans and their butlers are their father figures.

Bruce managed to deduce one of the locations that belonged to the Court of Owls when he was 8 years old. Underestimating Bruce isn’t a smart idea. Especially when he can utilize technology that he barely understands, to work to his advantage as shown in Batman Off-World Issue 3 and The Brave and the Bold Vol 3 Issue 6.
Good video, but yeah this wasn't even a competition to be truthful, some would argue it's the longevity of the character, and sure that has a PART to do with it, but also L is written as a genius within normal humans, Batman is written to be SO SMART he can actively be the detective, tactician, scientist and engineer for the JUSTICE LEAGUE, the same team which includes a forensic scientist who can think faster than light can move from one molecule to the other and a literal Kryptonian who are born with OP levels of intelligence
Not to mention that he has been written by gazillion different writers and isn't even consistently smart in all of them. It is honestly why I prefer L over him as a more realistic detective character.

There was also that time Batman technically made a plan against himself when Amazo copied his IQ yet Batman prevented Amazo’s plan with his own plan in a few moments
Also another one was when World Forger who is partially responsible for creating the DC verse said Batman was one of the smartest in creation, later on Batman used Superman in his plan to fool World Forger which was a plan World Forger couldn’t even imagine would happen which is crazy since he has shown the ability to see into all future possibilities

Batman didn't fool the World Forger. He said he agreed with him. He really left Superman to die on that planet. But left him an out he could only reach if he really pushed himself.
It's like locking your friend in a cell, but leaving the key _just_ out of reach so that your friend can only get it if they dislocate their arm or something.

If you wanted to overkill you could have shown his mind being relative to the Batman who laughs or things like constructing a platonic bullet, which is almost insurmountable perceptual reasoning and abstract thinking.

L is too smart for his Age, Wayne on other hand wasn't this Intelligent at his age compared to him. Bruce isn't Naturally Intelligent, coz he got Training while L is natural who solved every cases that existed at low age.

Talk to any martial arts expert and they'll tell you it takes years, if not decades to master one martial art. Bruce has mastered hundreds of those martial arts. Even with centuries of training a normal person would be unable to reach the same level. Bruce didn't start his carreer as early as L did for the simple reason that he didn't need to, and as soon as he needed, he showed natural potential on par or above L. And it's quite frankly silly to compare the two. Death note is built with realistic intelligence in mind. No matter how smart, the characters are still humans and make human mistakes. DC on the other hand is completely unrealistic. Brainiac is a 12th level intellect, with a 9th level intellect being smarter than the entire human race combined. And batman was still able to deduce stuff faster than brainiac. He's simply not a realistic human so there's no point in comparing L to him

Honestly, I think it's a bit of an unfair matchup since Batman's intelligence is far more cartoonish in nature; nobody questions it since his deductions, while often Deus ex machina-ish in nature, gets the job done anyway

In the comics the people who taught Batman his Detective skills include Harvey Harris, Dan Mallory, Arthur McKee (disquise, undercover work), Henri Ducard (Manhunting), Aurelius Boch (Toxicology), a hunting tribe in Africa who taught him tracking, he spent 6 weeks as an FBI agent. He also trained under an unnamed coroner and archaeologist before training under the bounty hunter Willy Dogget.
There's also him training under the Shadow (though this is canonically debatable.)
He also got the journal of the previous person to hold the title of "World's Greatest Detective" and used the journal to reverse engineer his methods and add them to his arsenal.
So while people don't often take him seriously in vomparison to other famous fictional detectives but he does deserve the title as greatest detective in comics.
I feel it would be fairer to use batman from one comic run because the character has had so many different interpretations it's hard to argue that they are all really the same character

Batman deals with magic and alternative universes so he's probably got a lot less ego about sloving crimes. Hes also just better at working on a team so he's less likely to loose since he'd call in help if he hit a dead end.
But Batman is also just harder to pin point because there are so many verisons of him. The batman weve had in comics since Tom King is too demotivated and honestly kinda overemotional and sometimes downright evil so he'd lose. All star batman would get wrecked by L too.
But a properly written Batman would win for sure.

@@Smilingdugo First think of an idea that you think people will watch, then once you have that try create a title that packages that topic into good phrase that can grab peoples eyes - this should compliment the thumbnail, the thumbnail should be used to illustrate what you can’t explain in the title. Thumbnail should be eye grabbing, use colors that grab attention such as vibrant striking colors (font go overboard it needs to look good)
Creating content you just got to deliver on your titles promise in the first minute of the video so no wasting time on how you walked your dog or something, keep to your topic and dont yap and just get into the video.
To keep people engaged just edit (subtitles, graphics, pacing, sfx (sound effects) vfx (video effects) and your audio) make sure the video’s frame change every couple seconds to keep people watching or atleast be talking about something very interesting.

Only people who don’t know Batman is a detective are the current writers at DC.
looking at it at face value Bruce is more of a smarter detective due to his feats, however looking at it from a point of view of how impressive their individual feats are in their respective verses its quite close, your looking at a super hero whose intellect is high and given the plot he's obviously going to win majority of the time especially in his canon timeline compared to L whose a normal human. Bruce's feats in hindsight are more impressive but considering who they are, what verse they are in id say L is the better detective as he is a normal human with a high level of intellect and considering the verses and plot amour. L is better.

Could Batman catch Johan? Johan is basically a calm joker.
The reason why Batman's detective skills are usually overlooked is because the best versions of Batman were created by people who understand that a story is only as smart as its creator, and so they focus on his physical feats. Should they focus on his detective skills, it'd be very damn easy to think of some grand scheme of a villain, only for it to have one obvious fatal flaw that no one in the story even thinks of. There are fewer issues in focusing on his physical prowess.

I think it's funny that despite easily beating L, I think that kira would beat a lot of batmans for one reason. In a lot of continuitys batmans "true name" to the death note WOULD BE batman. So if kira just put batman onto the death note, he'd just die.

Narrativly the screen time of any story about the two squaring off would focus on L as he try's to track down and discover the identity of batman, which woud all be undercut at the end as batman shows up out of nowhere an warns him off because he's somehow out detectived L by somehow discovering the L is tracking him down and knows he's getting close, none of which will be expanded or explored.

Sure, there are "many batmans". But if taking batman's best feats... He is literally godlike. He is a superhuman on a scale that dont even exist in deathnote. He would not only beat L (or light), he could defeat the whole shinigami world. He outsmarted and defeated literal gods multiple times, some almost omniscient beings...
One should have batman facing Reed Richards or DOOM... Or Goku... Not anything remotely realistic.
Unless you take a "cut", a specific batman from a specific run from vol. X to Y.. and choose a realistic batman

I completely disagree. Batman's feats aren't as impressive considering the world he lives in. L by comparison is leagues above any other human on the planet besides MAYBE Near and Mello. Batman is on par with the peak of humanity in his world, L is far above it.
But the peak of the dc works is leagues above the peak of the death note world
@@bobdafishyes6536 But more people are at the peak of the DC multiverse, making that a normal. DC characters are practically pampered into being superhuman. L is more impressive considering the world he lives in and his detective prowess outclasses that of Batman. L is not just L but countless other detectives on the "Greatest Detectives of all Time" list simultaneously. L is such a good detective that he plays the role of many detectives at once. He's never been seen yet solved every case he worked on, and yes, that includes the Kira case. he knew Light was Kira as soon as Raye Penber died, he just wanted hard proof. He managed all of this without any knowledge of the Death Note.

@@bobdafishyes6536 I still think L would win a duel of wits. Batman takes all night and needs to find every clue to solve the Riddler's puzzles. L would have figured it out as soon as he sees the first clue.
evidence: he's done more with less. in one move, he confirmed that Kira was real, needed at least a name and a face at minimum to kill, lives in Kanto, and was a student. he went from knowing that people were dying coincidentally to basically knowing the identity of a serial killer who doesn't need to be at the scene of the crime to kill.
