Thanks for this vidéo !!! All comparing vidéo i've watch , the guys always have the same hi pitch. So im playing low tuning and i could ear what it gives at my tuning !! 👍🤟
They all sounded great. I like your demonstrations. I find it difficult to get a true sense of how a drum sounds on a lot of drum demos and comparison videos that are out there, but I think you do a good job of capturing the sound of these drums. It's very honest. It also helps that you play a nice, straightforward beat, unlike a lot of videos where the guy just wants to showcase his chops, but back to those snare. For me, I'd happily use either one, but I liked the Birch a lot. It had some nice overtones, which I thought gave it a bit of character, but they're all sound nice!
Will be buying a 6.5 x 14 from BC, so listening closely. Want to use primarily tuned lower, but have a little higher tuning flexibility. Also, like a shorter rather than longer sustain, without the need for muffling whenever possible. Thought go in the Walnut would be sure winner. This round, though, Birch for the win.
great video man ! I have been looking for a video like this to see if i want a tama starclassic maple snare vs a starclassic walnut birch. all the videos have too many other factors to accuratly compare the tonal difference of the wood

Love the throatiness of the walnut. These comparison videos have been great, thank you!
Thanks for watching!
mahogany? beech? poplar? loooove the walnut!
That's been the overwhelming favorite. Still available too!

Birch or oak would be good for what you're after.
@@drumfactorydirect Thank you for the recommendations.

So... is anyone else out there experiencing the illusion wherein the kick drum drops pitch with the snare? asking for a friend lol
All ply shells sound the same ie glue. The subtle differences appear with steambent or staves.
