I really enjoy wearing this fragrance at the office. My only complaint is the missus sat down while I was watching this review on the Tivo and I've caught her wearing my Original Vetiver and Millesime Imperial. Thanks a lot Katie!!!! (Lol)

Hi Katie. Thank you for thinking with me. I never smelled Secretrions Magnifiques, but I saw your face in the video, it was hilarious, but not a very happy face. Carnal Flower is nice, but too strong for my taste. I think I will stay with the White Musk for men by the bodyshop. Yesterday after smelling so much this still stayed the prettiest, I think is smells niche and can't believe the price, I wish it lasted longer. Thanks again !

I've been wearing Creed Original Vetiver for several years. I love it. For those of us who are old enough (well, you don't actually have to be that old) I thought that Original Vetiver smelled like the old Prell shampoo. Brought back memories.

Safran Troublant is fantastic in cold weather, but it can also work in milder temps since it's not too sweet/dense/solid of a smell. I wouldn't call it an out-and-out gourmand, although vanilla and saffron are foody notes. It's blended enough with sandalwood and rose to be more sensual than caloric.
I love how White Musk for Men smells. Eau de Baux by l'Occitane is another good, inexpensive soft ambery musk.
Just had a sniff of Black Saffron at Liberty (but no room left to try it on my skin). It smelled nice on the strip, for what that's worth (not much, I realize). It had a light almost-fruitiness to it, and a recognizable saffron smell. But my favorite saffron-based perfume is L'Artisan Parfumeur Safran Troublant.

Love in White smells like hygienic flowers to me. I just resmelled it today so I could answer your question with up-to-date sensory input, and I was surprised at how metallic Love in White is. Also, I was disturbed to smell its similarity to the bilgey white florals of Secretions Magnifiques by Etat Libre d'Orange. Because I'm traumatized by Secretions Magnifiques (and you'll know why if you see my video on it), I can't endorse Love in White.
Fahrenheit is one of my very favorite smells. Can you get Bulgari Black where you are? I think your dad might like that one. Christian Dior Homme is also a good one.

This one is in my top 3 creed fragrances. 1. Silver mountain water, 2. Original Vetiver, and 3. Aventus.

The 3 you mentioned are rich orientals, not fresh/white at all. So it sounds like you want a change. My ideal fresh white floral is Carnal Flower by Frederic Malle (bright tuberose/jasmine). Another beauty is the jasmine/gardenia of Gardenia Petale by Van Cleef & Arpels. And Fleur Liane by L'Artisan Parfumeur is a dewy, fresh, watery tuberose/magnolia.
I've been eying Safran Troublant for some time now. I can make a real good cuppa chai with saffron in it. I personally think it smells delicious and pleasant enough to work as a fragrance if done correctly.
Is Safran Troublant more of a gourmand fragrance? And how does it work in the cold weather?

I feel the same when I wear Creed's Green Irish Tweed. Really bright opening but dries down to sandalwood musky goodness.
well, I want to find my perfect signature fragrance, which will be good for all my moodswings, last year I flew from Shalimar to Bvlgari Mon jasmin noir to Chanel Mademoiselle and this makes my nervous. I always tempted to pick out fresh, white floral scent ( I used to wear Issey Miyake in the 80's and the perfumes above) but I don't want to smell like a refrigerator. that said, I find it hard. I am a little lost girl in perfumeland at the moment. mabye you have some more suggestions for me ? ty

Vetiver. My favorite creed fragrance. Just smells fantastic. Very fresh .Got g.i.t. also and viking will be my next purchase.
First, Katie, I want to say that I enjoy all of your fragrance reviews-you have a gift for seeing the humour in even the most mundane fragrances. Anyway, regarding, Creed's OV, I agree that it's a lovely, subtle, better-than-skin scent.
Now for two unrelated notes (no pun intended): 1) Have you smelt Rose Anonyme by Atelier Cologne? Something tells me you would adore it. 2) I somehow stumbled onto a video of you interviewing Whitney Houston (W-H-I-T-N-E-Y!). You're officially a superstar!
I have to buy Orginal Vetiver by Creed. Nevertheless I hope it will smell a little bit smoky because I love Encroi Noire by Lalique.
Call me crazy but I love the opening but less of a fan of the sandalwoody drydown. Seems like most people share your opinion, though. Great fragrance, though. I wear it often.

thats perfectly my opinion on this one too. You will not even get the roughest idea what this really smells like on the bottlesprayer or a piece of paper. This is coming off after its mixed with the skin in the sillage. Direktly smelled its similar to soap or the annoying mugler cologne.
I wonder if it last on your skin or maybe I should ask how long did it last on you Katie.
It's completely different. Encre Noir is a very big woods and vetiver frag. This one is light and musky.
the vetiver . . . it's in there, but veeeeeeeeeery light, like a half-note on a paper strip that got left in someone's jeans after several washings.

Not that it's a secret but Creed Original Vetiver is straight up masculine scent. Not even listed as unisex.
My favorite perfume, but unfortunately I don't own it since it's so expensive where I live...

Well, it's nothing like the deep smokiness of Encre Noire. Prepare yourself to smell fresh and then clean white-musky.
Soapy. The word is soapy. Very soapy. The most squeaky clean out-of-the-shower smell of any frag I've put my nose to. Very similar to Mugler Cologne.
This smells a lot like Mugler Cologne which is way cheaper and much less pretentious ;)
Meh, wasn't a huge fan of OV. I tried a sample of it though despite that it wasn't for me but having everyone and I mean everyone gave me negative compliments...smelt like their grandpa isn't something I'm goin for lol.
