    I have adored this woman for decades. She just gets better and better. I love everything she does and everything she's on. I dont think she will ever understand the impact she's had on people with mental health or even that she has saved lives. I ADORE HER.

      Me too. I remember seeing her first comedy central presents special when I was like 10 or 11 and it made me realize how much I love stand-up. She is an absolute genius and I'm so glad she shares so much about her mental health experiences because it will definitely help a lot of people to hear that they're not alone in their mental illness.

    I'm very wary of non mental health professionals schilling products like this. Even if they actually work, they aren't a replacement for treatment, and it can be dangerous to mess around w brain chemistry stuff without guidance.

    Get some small microphones that attach to the clothing so your guests don't have to hold a huge microphone the entire show.

    • @larrycanupp411
      @larrycanupp411 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Handheld mics can be used to create a more energetic and dynamic sound. Consider the environment in which you will be using the microphone. Head mics are better for use in a loud environment, while handheld mics can be used in a variety of environments. Handheld microphones are commonly used in interview settings, whether it's for television, radio, or podcasting, ensuring clear and consistent audio quality. "Smaller" mics that can be attach can, unfortunately pick up your voice if you turn around and your back is to your audience/host. You do need to consider that because it’s only attached to your lapel or button up it has to be positioned properly so if you turn your head, your voice will be picked up clearly. Sorry... LOL... I was just teaching my students today on supporting an argument with evidence and if not... it is only a personal opinion/gut feeling without any convincing reasons. So... I found the verbiage above from three different sources to support my argument that hand held mics have certain advantages that you are not thinking about. My 8th grade students thank you!!!!! Peace.

      So sad but true. While having more money to spend on mental health care is useful, it also doesn't necessarily mean that the care you get is better or more effective. It's often the things surrounding the care, ie: the luxuriousness of the facility, the food, activities available etc.

      It's almost like it's a giant conspiracy to cover up for the methodical destruction of the western mind by its corrupted institutions with the side benefit of grifting some cash for its purveyors, with a small little sprinkle of actual usefulness and healing just to keep it juicy. Or something.

      It's insanely true. I went to Silver Hill in New Canaan CT in 2010, it was $69,750 for a month and it was worthless. I went to 5 other places around the same price, same deal. I only started to get better off meds and with trauma therapy, specifically somatic-based trauma therapies. I also had undiagnosed autism and Lyme disease the whole time. I was misdiagnosed by every clinician I had for over 30 years

    She's fantastic. The older she gets, the more I love her.
    You should do a Batman and Maria, like Prometheus and Bob.

    Wait, ha, I actually really enjoy Jon Kabat-Zinn as a complex trauma survivor. He teaches *actual* mindfulness by way of being grounded - not CBT nonsense or body/breath awareness only. Mindfulness got a bad rap (mostly rightly so) once it was co-opted by people who uprooted it from what it actually is and how it can be helpful with MH. Sigh

    I can totally relate to the apologizing playing tennis!! I've done this for YEARS (and continue to do it)!!

    Strongly disagree with Maria about her not being a good time.

    I love every drug you're on, Maria. You're a pharmaceutical catalyst producing the byproduct of laughter. I'm currently on 50mg of your current, non- FDA approved stand-up routines.

    Love your comedy Pete, but just couldn't get beyond the 5 min advert for homeopathic drugs. It makes me sad you help peddle that stuff & sadder if you really use & believe in it.

    Somewhere I stopped YMIW but not because I didn’t love it. Thank you for this. Maria is everywhere because of her book but it never feels like an ad.
