Very very nice job. The car wasn't in the best condition, so the change is huge. I like the work of the undercarriage, seems that car has been driven for a lot of km (I think that some silent blocks will be replaced at Mercedes), but the new look is extreme. As ever, the best job. Beautiful car (I remember Bruce Meyer's gulfwing in black too)
Thank you Emilio! This car is definitely a driver! Probably highest milage 300sl thats been through the shop by a long shot. But great patina and cleaned up real nice
Single stage paint is surprisingly magical. Once that tarnish is off, it reveals such great finishes. Yea, 300SLs are in my top 3 of my favourite classic cars. Love the Pagodas and most old and new vintage series like the M102, S123, R107 etc... Once you detail this stuff, you realise how great the quality is of those cars. You just don't see this in new cars.
Wow 😮. Just wow. The fact that this beautiful car is driven regularly just make me happy to see. Congratulations on an excellent job and preserving history for generations to come. Bravo.
Man, I would give anything to have that weather. I prepped an MGC today freaking 7C, 25mph wind and continuous light rain. It took forever for everything to work. Will be happy to crack on polishing indoors the next few days. Keep on bringing those magical cars. Looking forward to see your next vid on the E46 project and great job as usual on the Merc.
It's a chock to the system those british days. Thanks, man! I am winning... love single stage paint. Finished last weekend a lovely S123 Station Wagon in Artic White ready for sale. The only thing I need is that blimming expensive dry ice set up. Was going to put a link here in the comments, but that would be cheeky. Take care mate.
One of the most stunningly beautiful cars ever made and the detailing and time you put in is amazing. I love the way the car still looks used and that its had a life and isn't perfect but still fabulous. Great video.
Было время когда делали автомобили это называлось искусство сейчас это просто дизайн и ничего больше а мужики молодцы привели машину в порядок это тоже тяжёлый труд уважение к ним !
Most impressive detail work on a classic. Enjoyed every moment. I don't know why they don't have a car show detail shop like yours on cable? Motor Trend if your viewing this, I'm just saying. It would be a hit! My opinion.
I would love to be able to say I just sat in one. It is one of my all-time favorite cars in the world. This car, just exudes luxury. It’s the a pitta me of perfection and wheels. And you guys do an absolutely amazing job.
what a sublime car!!! born to be highlight!!!! Wonderful at age almost 70!!! great job, as always!! I've had a 1/18 scale miniature for over 25 years now, I love this car!! 😊👏👏👏
Would love to own one of these, have to be grateful with my R129! Great job the car looked new apart from the corrosion on the front of the wheel arch on the drivers wing!
German cars of the past few decades may be popular in design and in other marketing and brand aspects, but they are pretty bad cars in general and have a lot of problems. Behind these brands are also ethically dubious companies. They have cheated and betrayed in terms of the environment (see the diesel emissions scandal) and are investing in Chinese regions where a series of ongoing human rights abuses against the Uyghurs is happening. I used to love German cars, but they are absolutely not a vision today anymore. A modern car manufacturer of the future will have totally different values and offer environmentally-friendly vehicles not potentially produced by slaves. Sadly …
@@097hhd63 No one makes a bad car anymore, and all have considerable warranty. Just take care of them and put proper fuel in. There's always a "reliability c*nt" around Wien you don't need one. Cars virtually never break down. Who doesn't have factories on China? It's a bigger market than USA and Europe combined so show me who doesn't operate there.
Edelweiss looks fantastic! I think it's great that he is using a tooth brush to clean the trunk hinges. Who needs fancy brushes? I've used old tooth brushes for years
Couldn’t watch the interior detailing portion of the video. That leather brush used on everything and knocking into nearby parts, and the sprays dripping all over the dials. Wheel centre caps being stacked on top of each other. Rest of it was awesome.
Stunning work as always! Do you re-apply the rubberized wax “schutz” to the undercarriage? It looks prettier without it- but schutz undercoating was a thing through the early 1990’s…
Looks spectacular! Did you guys re-spray the undercarriage with more anticorrosive material (that lumpy Rhino-bed liner lookin stuff) after you used dry-ice blasting to strip it off?
@I Gotta Say I think they're just not used to seeing how manufacturers used to go about preserving the underside of vehicles, and instead of washing it first with a pressure washer, they go straight to the dry-ice. But hopefully that'll change. The more you know, right?
I'm still concerned about dry ice, is it removing undercoat? I'm seeing clean coror, but under dirt before it was a some waxy like solution cover, and after blasting it vanishes
Oftentimes, yes. Typically we are looking to replace the surface with a more even coat of a modern protection wax. If the factory cosmoline is in great shape, we often times insist on keeping it original. But this was a very well driven and loved 300SL - it had seen some use! So we stripped it down and allowed for the new owner to choose how they want to protect the car - with a full cosmoline replacement, or a waxoyl coverage that looks slick and is a more modern protection, or keep it clean and basic with a 3M clear matte protection wax. We are always applying some level of protection to the sensitive parts after cleaning. Not to mention we’re in southern california and risk of rust and corrosion is quite minimal here
I think at the bottom you removed whole the bottom protection what we call tectyl here in europe...it protects the body with thin polyurethane like barrier for small gravel and salt.
This is a driver condition 300SL, so I am not sure I see the logic in dry ice blasting all the protective undercoating that has clearly done its job for the last 63 years. No one is going to look under the car except for the fussy owner. I'd hate to think all that time and money cleaning it up will now make it more susceptible to rust.
Did you catch the part at the end where we recoated the entire car with a fresh clean coat of rust protection to keep the car on the road for many years to come?
Very very nice job. The car wasn't in the best condition, so the change is huge. I like the work of the undercarriage, seems that car has been driven for a lot of km (I think that some silent blocks will be replaced at Mercedes), but the new look is extreme. I think all the SL roadsters were the most beautiful cars Mercedes ever made.
Beautiful job!
Fully agree 😍
One of the most beautiful cars ever made.
The real detailing company! Detailing is not only washing, polishing and cleaning. But you fix rock chips, trims etc! It’s outstanding!!!

С таким климатом, как в Калифорнии, легче сохранить кузов автомобиля, солгаситесь.
Damn! You've reached museum condition. GJ
I’ve watched many of their videos and I watch everyone from beginning to end. This shop is the epitome of restoration and preservation detailing.

that car is gorgeous, has to be one of the best looking cars of all time
this is the most beautiful Mercedes ever.
Once again. The best work and the best cars. Beautiful 300 SL Roadster......

The 300SL is an absolute classic, but I really like the 60’s era Pagoda style.
What a final result! I wish it would have a red interior!

The Germans. Make many amazing classic and modern cars, unlike any other country.
Brits made dozens of amazing cars that are now classics.
I heard they also got big di*ks too! Or at least that’s what I’ve been told.
