Went fishing today. Headed to Nagambie. Started off at Chinaman Bridge got a couple of cod but left when others started fishing over me. Moved to Nagambie Lake, got 3 large yellows on a surface stumpjumper. Was awesome. Soon as the sun was going down the bite died off sadly.

There was a good feed you got there! Some of those small ones would make good yellowbelly bait. It's always good t see a fishery, even just little hole in the ground like this one, come back from being a virtual wasteland. Imagine if you'd left them in over night.
Robbie, I damn near cried when you mentioned the temperature...+39C. I just put my dogs out for their evening squirt; The thermometer showed -41C, Now I am a lover of winter but this temp is a bit much! Even my intrepid Siberian Husky wanted NOTHING to to with the outdoor scene. Great video and I hope you enjoyed your feed of yabbies.

LOL 😂😂😂my thoughts were a three minute impatient check but it was a SUPER impatient check - after the 2009 drought my brothers caught so many big yabbies one of the dams had only a small amount of water in it when it filled up again it went crazy with super sized yabbies
Not bad at all👍🏻 when I was a young fella I used to go catch yabbies all the time, the best bait to catch em everytime guaranteed is a bar of soap👌the yabbies don't like contamination and will do anything to remove the cause e.g soap 😉👍🏻
Great fun when the yabbies are on the bite! We went two weeks ago and had a fabulous catch, BIG YABBIES!! We caught about 70 odd, only kept 25 nice size ones... Only found one out 70 odd with babies... Is this a bad sign Robbie??
Hi Tony, that sounds amazing. I'm not sure about the eggs mate. I often go for long times without seeing yabbies with eggs, and then all of a sudden every second Yabby has eggs. Maybe it just wasn't the right time?

@@robbiefishing FYI : the boys smashed it last week at Milawa. They ran out of bait and started using the leftover sausages from dinner, the small fish stopped nibbling and they got good 70+ Murray Cod. thoughts🤔
Great stuff mate I agree always knock on the door to ask I've done it countless of time's some say no and that's fine with me. The farmer I see to use his dam has told me no more to many people jumping the the gate using his dam so they wrecked a really great dam for me it's really ashame
Hi mate, it would get out as the net sinks. I've already made this mistake. LOL I left 4 big ones in a net once. I threw it in, and wasn't happy with the throw so I pulled it back up and only 1 was left. Hahaha

Maybe you need some Daphnia those tiny little bugs that eat algae and other water plants,they keep ponds clean and or food for other critters.
I think Silver Perch eat a lot of Daphnia.

Hi mate, to be honest I'm not sure of the oxygen content in the water. It was just very dark and clear because it flooded so many paddocks.

They sure can. These ones are better than my older ones, but they can still get out. It's just a little harder.
