I'm from Florida, I left to North Carolina and Florida is not a great place to live. NC was the best decision that I made, and the wages are better. Now I'm moving elsewhere and working as a travel CNA and moving around for a while. Florida is terrible!!!!

I moved to Florida from Ohio. I don’t miss the cold and changing seasons at ALL! The #1 pro for Florida for me is the weather in Florida. If I had to move back to Ohio I would be kicking and screaming. Any state that has temps below 60° in the spring is unacceptable to me.

I totally agree with you. I miss the warm FL weather. Kinda wishing I could go back.

Florida isn’t a state to rebuild your life or start over. Lol. It’s to expensive and also very low paying jobs unless you’re a RN professional. You’re gonna either be roommating or living out a cottage even as a single person. It’s a straw you come to when you come with wealth or a really extensive education it’s experience. Six figures and higher is required to be in Florida.

I live in Fl. I told my husband this would happen. Everyone moving here in the last couple of years would leave soon. It’s to much of a change for most people to live here from other areas of the country. Most people don’t like change. Visiting a place for a week vacation is totally different then living there. We are a military family so we are use to moving and adapting to new locations. Our traffic has tripled in the last 2 years. It’s awful!

Crazy thing is I might be having to move back to FL! 😱

Florida did not used to be this bad! After 2020 literally the whole country started to flock here. Our house value has more than doubled in the last 2 years. It’s crazy

I totally believe it! I remember there was a time when FL had some lovely and more affordable homes and not so over crowded. It is a shame. It has made it very difficult for people who have always lived there to be able to afford to buy a home. All the southern states have just gotten hit hard with people moving down.

I live in Ventura, California. Ventura borders Los Angeles. The traffic here isn't nearly as bad as LA. Don't move here if you hate traffic and lots of people. The Baby Boomers regulated the housing market so much that most Millennnials and Gen Z can't even afford a house. The average house in my neighborhood is around $1.2 million right now and these are 2-3 bed 1-2 bath houses built in the 1950's. Boomers bought these houses with their high school diploma and grocery store job.

The Carolina's have some nice, affordable homes and you have the beach, too. Sounds like a safe bet. I have known a few people that moved down to Florida to retire, only to find themselves back at work. I hope things work out Susie. I think you are on the right track, now.

Wow as someone from the UK hearing how far you guys have to drive is crazy to me. We call a 3 hour journey a long road trip 🤭 Hope your guys' move goes smoothly and settle in your new home well! 🙏🌺🤍☀️

Oh yea, it’s nothing to drive 10-20 hours even up or down the coast or country to visit someone here in the US! It’s a BIG place and takes a long time to get from one place to another.

Wow, great you're able to make this happen! Florida sounds like a beautiful place but tough to settle in for various reasons. I am shocked by the amount of people moving there, considering the wild cost of homes and especially property insurance getting so high. Surprised you are so fond of the gators 😮 I hope you enjoy your new journey and home 🌷

Thank you! It is one of the most beautiful places I lived. And I would love to own a vacation home there one day. Until then..for now I can’t afford to live there.

Good luck with your move! We lived in Jax for 13 years and Pensacola for six. Winters were nice. Other than that, it was a great decision for us to move. I missed the four seasons and the politics are way too extreme for me now. Hurricanes are scary and can be expensive.

I did miss the seasons too. There is definitely only hot and warm in FL. Still it is a beautiful place and I do wish it was more affordable but I do hope to travel there often.

A great place to live is Bassett Va. Weather is perfect and mild winters. 1 hr. from major airport. VERY cheap homes! Very nice countryside. Plenty of rivers and lakes to swim in.

It’s really no where to go. As Florida becomes more crowded and expensive, people will dump into the Carolina’s, Georgia, and Alabama, which over time will make those surrounding states overpopulated

    • @SusieStyle
      @SusieStyle  ปีที่แล้ว +2

You are right about that, even now here in Charlotte it is getting more crowded than it used to be. A lot of people also want warmer but still want the seasons so they flock here. It’s just crazy how the world has been.

300k in Florida?? Only in the everglades with crocks will you find that.

I come to Naples Florida three years ago and I'm back from where I come. Florida it's he'll on Earth. It's not a place for a human to live.

It is definitely hot, like an oven outside!
