Great job driver, I'm like you I do my own repairs, how if we could get more drivers to do the same maybe the shop repair guys might start to bring there prices down a bit.
I hate those air dryers when you talk about water the worst thing is when it frezze up and then you are in trouble my dad worked on big rigs for 35 years and he knew a guy he worked that is blind in one eye because he looked at the hose end to see if it was plug and that when it happen a bunch of ice chunks flew out and hit him in the eye so don't ever look in the end.And hope you get to feeling better.
These things do tell you way ahead of time before they need to be replaced. If only someone would have taken some time to drain the air tanks during the pre or post trip, no one would have to replace them that early. So next time please take some time drain your air tanks every day and check out for moisture in the discharge and you will never get into air troubles. no offence, but this is the first part of driving a semi-truck.
How much there was a water in air tanks when dryer goes broken? I think there is a lot of water... at local tire dealer told they remove about 25 litres of water per day from compressor.
