I absolutely ADORE the fact that Michael’s “thousand things” quote was based off of one of Solomon’s films, and I love how it’s one of the last things we learn about him. It’s such a perfect bow for the gift that is Michael’s arc throughout the game

First time hearing Madrazo on the phone especially after he swung a bat at you, I like how Michael spoke very well and motivated and promised the money to Martin. Hearing Martin Reply with that positive tone gave me the kind of rush of energy you get when having a runners high. The problem with GTA V over GTA IV is that these are all player initiated. They’re background NPCs instead of characters that have an impact on the overall story. Characters like Brucie, Jacob and Packie are more memorable because their backgrounds impact what you do in the game. Jacob offers Niko discounted weapons/armor. Packie offers hardware to help Niko get hard to reach targets. Brucie picks you up and moves you around the city via helicopter. There were side missions connected to the GTA IV contacts as well. Brucie had exotic exports. Jacob had drug packages. Roman had a cab business you could help out with early on.
Ooh yeah, that sounds great and all until you start losing relationship points because you didn't go bowling with Roman for the 20th time in an hour of gameplay. No thank you.

Michael’s calls with his family throughout the story hurt, you can tell Michael means well and wants to be nice to his family, but his family doesn’t give him the time of day. The only one that seems to care is Jimmy, even then he drugged him to basically get rid of him. Hell even Trevor knows that Jimmy, Tracy, and Amanda are ungrateful to him so he treats them like shit too, straight up calling them “ungrateful brats” which he’s not wrong, it’s the harsh truth.
