Tyler coming back proves his character... "You learn more lessons on a football field than you ever learn in a college classroom. You learn perseverance, you learn teamwork, you learn to wait your turn, you learn improvement. When you transfer, all you do is change the address of your problems. The problem's with you." Great call Goolsby. When they did the "Pat down" cerebration my friends and I thought it was the coolest thing and we would do that celebrations ourselves after that. It was like a fad for a minute there. Some NFL problem child should roll with that celebration, that would get a response. So funny you mention that celebration though, that totally brings me back to that game and time period. PS, that Oregon state team was loaded.
Singer and Goolsby on the surface is such an "odd couple" and that is why it is brilliant. I wonder if they recognize this. So entertaining with serious deep discussion. Its at its best when Singer stands his ground. It is simply unmissable. What other programs have this? Maybe alot. Dont really care. It just works on so many levels.
Goolsby was a man in his time. Loved watching him. THAT is how to play football. My God was he fun to watch live his trade. We are just spectators but if you watch close....you can learn some lessons in life.
No excuse for Hartman not playing in the bowl game this year. Is he training to be a 7th round pick? Unacceptable to not play after the odd year we had. Love the guy; the player left alot to be desired
@@evanravely9144 I think the same way. I typically understand it, but he just came to ND, played okay football, made a couple mil and bounced without finishing out seems fraudulent lol.. and all to be drafted late late; 7th round late.
The big question is why didnt ND put the bowl game in the contract for his compensation package? Ie if we are paying you X then you will play in the following games.
Much better pocket presence than Buchner, much better touch with short passes and over the middle. Leonard sees the field so much better than Buchner(he can make multiple reads quickly). Can Leonard kill you passing down field all game? Likely not...but he's a much, much better and smarter Buchner.
As someone who doesn’t usually get to listen to these live, it would be really cool if they had chapters bookmarked by topic when they were posted after the fact

I think when looking at transfers, there is two ways to look at it. There is bringing in transfers because of filling in after kids transfer out. That is necessary because the beast that is the portal. That is different than just going out like free agency to upgrade the roster, and ignoring building from within. Replacing lost kids to the portal is not the same as landing a mercenary and ignoring building from within.
I do think the photo could just be a case of knowing your going out to see the women’s team, knowing you’re out with Prince Charming Sam, and knowing you might score a few conversations with the ladies. I’d wear my best stuff out too after seeing how QB1 Sam was treated this year. .
Notre Dame QBs aren't concerned with the ladies at a basketball game. These dudes have access to an entire internet of women; they aren't going to a game to meet anyone, bro.
Because he’s a tough sob and not afraid to put a shoulder down and sacrifice his body for the success of the team . Unlike Hartman who looks like a princess out there “saving herself” for the league
I know. 😂. Not a bad move for him. Intelligent move. Happy for TB. Still think Angeli is better qb overall.Just watch the Joe Montana documentary on Peacock. He was a terrible practice player. Tom Brady was the GOAT but he wasn’t Lamar Jackson athletic. Same with Peyton Manning.
@@atrain_sportsgallery4397 two of those QBs weren't very successful at the college level, as I'm sure you know, but that's in part because it's athleticism that allows many players to be more successful at the college level. In college every player isn't one of the rare handpicked elite athletes that can compete at the professional level like the NFL. So a QB can use their raw athleticism to dominate the college game because they aren't entirely surrounded by other freaks of nature. Whereas in the NFL they are only one of many players with that kind of athleticism, so it requires other traits. Also, the thinking element is even more emphasized at the pro level, where playbooks and schemes get even more complex, especially for QBs. At the college level, being athletic holds a lot more importance for a QB
@@atrain_sportsgallery4397that's not to say a less athletic QB can't be successful at the college level or that Angeli can't be, but I also don't believe Angeli fits what Parker wants to do on offense with a QB. Mike -- I'm from San Diego like TB. Went to Helix like TB. I've been watching him since HS and had we developed him he would have been exceptional and an equally exceptional representative for ND. He's better than IB. Better than SH given the chance. More versatile. More physical.
Buchner is the perfect example of making a long term decision on temporary feelings. Would be the favorite to be the starter but was convinced by Tommy Rees to head to Alabama where everyone knew he really couldn’t compete. Now he has to find his way back to Notre Dame on the lacrosse team. Just gotta love the politics of college football.
Freeman has quite similar results as Kelly who is much more experienced but Freeman is a much better recruiter and thats the key to be better than average.
As Goolsby said… Parker running an inside zone after 8-9 weeks of defense’s seeing our abilities of not having a running QB… Shows all of us how Parker has zero ability to make changes in his offensive scheme
Buc was definitely worth developing. Better arm than people gave him credit for and a pretty natural runner. Showed what he could do in bowl last year. Not knocking Sam, but I think Irish finish 11-1 in a ny6 this year ir he stayed
Ain’t no way. Buchner leads ND to 11-1. He makes way too many boneheaded decisions. Definitely would have put the team in jeopardy. Hartman was a breath of fresh air. A competent QB. He wasn’t spectacular but it was an upgrade.

Im glad we got Goolsby breaking down the difference on attractiveness between Hartman and Leonard. I feel like we can make an educated decision now.

Kenny Mincy needs to be seriously considered as a candidate to start. Smart kid and real good

Like the idea of Taysom Hill usage of TB.
I agree with Goolsby on Riley Leonard.
Guys this wasn’t the only time that Sam, Steve, and Kenny were seen together. They were at the ND Michigan hockey game last Friday.
Hartman looks like Jesus but can throw the deep ball amazingly.

Buchner transferred to Notre Dame to play Lacrosse

Bizarre that people still think that TB should be playing football at ND. He’s moving to lax for a reason.
Notre Dame should be going after Cam Ward not Riley Leonard why setttle for less in Leonard
