    So much of the national media wants to talk about USC’s D but this game was about ND’s D and their complete dominance. A dominance that has shown in most moments of this season.

    • @dashx1103

      I'm 100% convinced that Freeman is a defensive savant. I think ND's D will be excellent moving forward. He needs to find the equation for the offense ... and then the sky is the limit.

      @@Christopher-t6j He's absolutely not an "average QB." He doesn't have decent WRs, and he's done quite well given the circumstances. And he's a solid dude. Like they said in the broadcast Saturday night, "he is the best QB at throwing deep balls, .. he gets it on time and gives his WRs a chance." He doesn't have the strongest arm. But he's one of the better QBs in college football. It is too bad he is constrained by a poor OC and a lack of production from the WR corps. But he takes it in stride and doesn't complain. The game fell on my 15th anniversary, so my wife and I were out to dinner until kind of late. I got home and decided not to look at results until the next morning. I was so surprised to see ND won by 28. I had to look at the score a few times to be sure ND didn't lose by 28. What a great, gutsy performance. Also, I was a law student at ND when the '88 Miami game happened on 10/15/88. Saturday seemed like an appropriate time for a big win over a rival.

    • @dashx1103
      @dashx1103 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Also, he clearly got into Xavier Watt's face after the last TD. Watts slowed down and showboated a little before getting into the end zone, and he gave a USC player an opportunity (missed) to strip the ball at the 1 yard line. Freeman seems to be always coaching.

    the thing with the timeout at half I believe the superchatter was pointing out was a FREE PLAY for USC. It wasn't about field goal yardage. It was SMART timeout because if Caleb sees its a Free Play (offsides) and we have THREE guys celebrating 10 yards behind him he can throw a hail mary with them having 11 vs 8 advantage on the play. They probably score a TOUCHDOWN instead of a FG. This is the thing you are missing Singer. I know you defend the timeout but its even a smarter timeout than you realize. People assume Williams was just going to spike it but if Williams realizes its a freeplay then its probably a USC touchdown. VERY GOOD timeout to insure we go into half up 24-6 instead of 24-10 which is a big difference. Thats why the superchatter said "free play" because Caleb can throw hail mary knowing even if INCOMPLETE which is longshot since we only playing defense with 8 they STILL GET A FG because half can't end on a defensive penalty.

    • @dashx1103
      @dashx1103 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, but CW didn't look to be attempting a "hail Mary," ... I think it was clear he was spiking the ball.

  • @grimjim1774
    @grimjim1774 ปีที่แล้ว

    good win and freeman and company are safe from the crossfire for now.
    however we need to be honest about this team and the fact remains that the offense is still not playing to it's potential.
    i believe that parker is in over his head and much like tommy rees just does not have the wherewithal to adjust to what the opposing defenses are doing.
    in my opinion hartman needs to be more assertive in audibilizing at the line and changing plays as he sees what is unfolding in front of him.
    he also needs to check things down in certain instances. he holds on to the ball too long too often and gets punished for it.
    as much as i like estime i feel that they need to get love and price more involved and get them more touches.
    estime does not have that initial burst and needs time to build up to speed.
    he is the thunder but you also need the lightning to balance things out and keep defenses honest.
    it goes without saying that the receivers need to step up.
    but part of the problem is the play calling.
    guys like thomas and greathouse you just need to get them the ball and let them make plays.
    the offensive line protected better but they are still not opening up the holes for the backs.
    you would think with the size of these guys that they would be manhandling defenses.
    evans is a gamer but let's not forget about staes. the kid has special ability we need to find him.
    why are we not utilizing our weapons properly and effectively?????
    it's been 7 games we should be able to figure out who can do what at this point.

    nobody will prolly care about this but once again, for the 2023 nfl season, the notre dame alumni in the nfl falls in the top 5 of all the fbs programs, if anyone reads this or is interested...for 2023 nfl rosters that includes practice squad players and players who are on ir or the pup list...NOTRE DAME has 45 players that are currently with an nfl team, which is the exact number that michigan has....the leader is bama of course with 73, osu has 61, lsu has 60, georgia has 55...for all the talk about the athletes and talent(on offense that usc has or has had) they currently have 30 PLAYERS in the nfl so notre dame has 3 players that are collecting nfl paychecks for every 2 USC players that are also in the league...and i didn't go in depth but a guy like jordan addison who was recruited and spent 2 years at pitt is listed as a usc alum on ourlads, but notre dame also gets credit for brandon joseph, but either way i thought people would like to know if they didn't already that notre dame is still winning in that category as well, as far as sending players to the next level and achieving what is most football players DREAM...btw there are 3 fbs teams that have 0 players currently in the nfl(UNLV, KENT ST and NEW MEXICO ST), i hate ending this on a bad note but marshall currently has 4 players in the nfl(only 2 of which are currently active with 1 being a 3rd string mike linebacker-NEVILLE HEWITT for the texans and that is not a misprint, only position the texans have that goes 3 deep on defense as there are only 53 active players for each team and the other is steven gilmore who is a 2nd string corner for the lions)....but i know stanford last year finally broke their fbs streak as far as wins, but i wasn't to frustrated with that game, because i know that stanford still recruits close to the notre dame level(usually battling against each other for certain players) and stanford currently ranks 15TH IN THE COUNTRY with 34 PLAYERS IN THE NFL!!!!!

    This game shows the defense is much improved but the offense needs a new wide receiver coach and offensive coordinator and a new special team coach. Notre Dame should bring in Paul Chryst or Kliff Kingsbury OC and Emmet Jones as WR coach. Levar woods as special teams coach would would mesh well with Freeman being an ex LB. Marcus Freeman needs an ex head coach for the offense and Defense so Freeman can focus on player development and building a national championship team. I believe Freeman has a better shot than Kelly but needs to adjust his staff in the offseason.
    If Golden leaves for a head coach job
    Freeman should look at
    Jim Leonhard
    Will Muschamp
    Mike Tressel
    For DC.

    A great game two losses too late. I’m tired of Notre Dame playing their best games once a national championship is taken off the table. They can’t handle the pressure of winning a national championship. It’s almost like they exhale and say now we can just play football once they are out of the title run. I wasn’t impressed with the offense, it was a totally freak win with all the turnovers and the run back. It’s just not a typical winning strategy in a football game, sorry. Yes it was fun to watch no doubt. Again a great win two losses too late.

      We could all lament/cry in here about what could have been this season.. but what good would that do, honestly? The schedule is made years in advance and the ACC did their best to break the Irish's ACC regular season win streak, that's a fact. This 4-game stretch has been brutal and if they finish the job September 23rd, the Louisville result isn't the backbreaker it became last weekend. There are still some really cool things to be excited about with this program. Talent is going up, up, UP and there are signs of great development from the coaching staff in the form of Burnham, Boubacar Traore, Tuihalamaka up front, Sneed, Ziegler, Bowen & Ausberry at LB and Watts at safety. CB is self-evident at this point and Mickens is ELITE. The coaching staff has gone back to back to back with Minchey, Carr and now Deuce Knight at QB and Carr/Deuce are bringing in the DUDES with them, you'd better believe it! This 2025 class is going to be BANANAS buddy. ☘️😎💪🏼
