Great job, i think some things are just a pain in the neck and are better to pay to have done. That is one of them. I worked it with the dealer upon purchasing of the bike, payed for bars had them install. You have patience my friend. Enjoy
LOL, you should try shooting a video while doing it. Setting up every single shot, starting/stopping the recording. Check focus, change batteries, OMG it adds so much time to the process.
Great job. Looks awesome! The secret to get that clutch side control panel and the weight in place is to cut a sliver no more than 1/8 inch off that side of the handle bar. I did it easily with my Dremel tool. It all aligned perfectly after that. These handlebars made the bike so much easier to handle and comfortable.
yeah i thought about doing exactly that but was getting tired and just wanted to be done, LOL, THAT's never happened right? hahaha. I may tackle that soon though. Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed it.

Much respect to you for tackling replacing your bars. Those KSTs looks awesome. I had the Indian mid rise bars installed last year and it’s the best I have done to the Chieftain, for exactly the same reasons you talked about. The stock bars pulled to far forward and made 700 mile days a challenge. Ride safe.
I’m wayyyyy better at drinking beer than I am making content. Instead I’ll keep watching your content while I crack open another one🍻. Awesome looking bars & bike my friend.
Great video! Did my bars last year on my challenger and yes it took that long...not a terribly difficult job just tedious when reinstalling...you did great and hope you like your challenger!
Bars look great! Looks like a way more comfortable riding position. A lot more involved than my install but I took about the same amount of time. Had to stop for a break about mid way through so I didn't break something out of frustration. haha KST makes some good bars.
Cool brother! Nicely done sir! That’s about where my arms are too. The standard bagger bars give the same effect they just don’t have the pointed look at the top. Great video buddy
I just did this install yesterday. I added heated grips with my install. Like you, I struggled with the handlebar weight for the longest time. Probably 30 minutes or so.
seems like it would be a great winter project. bars, cams, headers, exhaust, headlight, speaker n amp, tuner and crashbars install. all at the same time. great share!
I see several people commented on it but any link to a video or advice on rolling the handlebars down? I bought a used 2020 challenger limited with tall bars and I want the bars just a little lower, I’m enjoying the videos!
Something small like setting up a work area is really smart. I never thought of that. My garage has gym flooring and I usually set things down on there. I would have saved my back a lot of pain if I did this instead 😂 Cool videos Sir 👍
Great Instructions Brian, I'm sure that's not a job for everyone, but you just showed that as long as someone follows the right instructions they can do it too, just go slow an don't rush, you did a great video, good looking bike, enjoy an stay safe
Thank you! I have a Highball planning to get a challenger but it's hard to find reviews on heights for different bikes. I love the side view. I am 6 2 and like you said I HATE sitting ON bikes instead of IN them. I will definitely need these when I get the challenger! Thanks again!
Hi Brian! I know this is an old video, but I just installed the KST Lakota bars on my ‘22 Pursuit. Just like in your video, my left side bar weight would not allow the controls to fit, so I left the weight out. I haven’t been able to go for a long ride yet (Idaho winter), but they are so much more comfortable than the stockers. I’m just wondering if on any of your longer rides you’ve noticed any discomfort without the weight? Thanks, Dan Buck
@@TwoIndians Thanks for getting back Brian, I’m glad I should be ok without the weight. I don’t expect you to remember me, but I met you at Indian Motorworks a couple years back near Durango. Anyways, my wife and I enjoy watching your channel (she rides her own Chief Classic). I have my Pursuit and can’t see myself getting rid of my ‘17 Springfield. Luckily my garage is big enough, lol.
Recently replaced the stock seat on my 21 Chieftain with a Saddlemen seat. Didn’t realize the impact with regard to the stock handlebars until I went on a long 275mi trip this past weekend and experienced the exact posture issue. Now it looks like my bike’s got a new set of KST handlebars in it’s future. Thanks for all you do! Got my Chieftain this past summer, and started following you just before. Appreciate all your insight, and love your trips too!
Probably almost no more work. The only effort would be to unbox the grips and slip them on like I did my new grips. Oh, you do have to plug the little wire in.
Hello there.. I'm buying a 2022 Chieftain dark horse and I would like to know if those apes where 16inch in the video of your installation of your new Challenger. Thanks
Hey thanks for watching John! KST doesn’t really say what the height increase is but they are almost exactly the same height as my 16” apes in the Springfield. So yes, that would be my guess, maybe a hair lower.
Hello Brian I've never owned an Indian motorcycle before and I always thought wouldn't it be great if they came out with a crossover motorcycle that encompasses a hight tech liquid cooled power house with an American Vtwin. I will be following you on this bike for sure.

Nice vid on the takedown. Man I wish I had room for 2 bikes or more! I love the Springfield. I didn't get the Springfield when I got my Roadmaster, because I wanted the upgrade with all the stuff! But I love that classic Indian look on the Springfields. One day, maybe! I have some extended handlebars, to make the reach a little shorter for my arms. But it kind of cuts in to the turning during slow speed maneuvers, Uturns, turns from a stop, figure 8s, etc. Was looking to see if it's possible to loosen the mounting clamps, and just twist them upwards without having to take everything off. I've had the fairing off, and gas tank almost off. And I don't want to deal with that fairing again! Anyways, great vid as always! Ride safe!
@@TwoIndians Oh dang, maybe that means the same for my Roadmaster, too. I haven't looked too hard, but the more I am practicing slow speed maneuvers, the more I want to see if I can just get that little bit of twist up on them to raise it a smidge and see if that does anything.
