After a few years the red handle that adjusts the cutting height will snap off due to degradation, replace that with a new one and then the black plastic adjustment rod will also break. I have managed to repair this with JB WELD which so far is working fine and probably much stronger than the original. Parts are cheap and available so its not a big issue. Mower works very well, just dont overload the motor.
Great video. I have just bought a similar Rotak 36-R, and it seems if you tilt the push frame up to vertical, you can't pull it down to diagonal again without loosening two of the handle adjusters. Or am I doing something wrong? EDIT - I might have the lower two "legs" the wrong way around. Will check in morning
Yes indeed - I turned them around, and now they don't "stand and get stuck" when I push forward on them - I wish manufacturers made their 3D images clearer on instructions :-)
0:16 Have just learnt how to fold down handles! Fold down red clips at base of arms so that the box-compartment side is outermost, rather than the smoother side. If you then (quite sharply) wrench the lower handles towards the BACK of the mower, it releases the handles and you can then fold them forwards.
I bought this lawnmower two months ago and used it a few weeks later as the weather had been sunny and warm for a few days. The first cut left lots of clumps of grass over the garden (which was to be expected as it was long and it was the first cut of the year) but I left it a week or so and went over it again due to the weather being great but it still left clumps of grass behind. The grass wasn't too short but it was in no way long. I had to end up raking the grass after the second cut and I wasn't too happy about it. The box hardly collected any grass. Am I doing something wrong? It was a brand new mower - didn't expect that to happen. Again, the grass was dry and wasn't long so, to me, it should be collecting every bit of grass. The box was on properly as I kept checking it. Although, the grass seems to get stuck behind the blade and every length I have to turn it over and get rid of it. Any help would be appreciated! Never had this issue before and don't want to go out and buy another mower.

You bet! Also, use an extension that is not much longer than you need - less of a pain to wind and unwind

Still dont know how the numbers on height settings relate to the cut. Is high number longer or shorter grass?
