This playthrough gave me a whole new appreciation for Eden. Those two-finger strokes are almost addicting to listen to once you know they’re there. Great stuff
On another level. Genius. Finesse. Thunder. Amos is a virtuoso. His playing is smooth as butter and he has a real thump to his slap work, which I'm happy is well mixed in with the rest of the band in all their work. Tesseract is completely original and I am happy that I found them. I first saw them at a Megadeth show - Tesseract opened. I remember being interested in the first couple songs, but couldn't find the groove yet. They played Hexes as their third song. I was awestruck. I suddenly "got it". FYI - I'm a 30-year die-hard Megadeth fan. I listened to Tesseract on the way home from the concert. I have Sonder on repeat ever since it came out. Watched live in lockdown hundreds of times. I can't get enough of them. I hope Dave will forgive me.
Dude Amos bass is absolutely stunning 😍 🥰🤩 its awesome seeing a playthrough of him but I wonder of we will ever get a guitar play through 😅🤔 this song is so awesome.
There are obviously people who missed the humour here, but for those that don't understand when you perform with a guitar or bass (and/or can't afford a wireless unit/prefer cables) it's professional practice to feed the input cable through the back out to the front between the guitar strap and bottom guitar strap button/lock first then plug into the input jack as apposed to just plugging in straight up, as it can be easy to step on a cable and yank out the lead moving around stage without this loop which keeps the cable behind you to a degree. This loop creates a sort of lock against accidentally pulling your cable out of your instrument (also tidier, especially for top mounted jack inputs like SG style guitars etc)..........obviously though its kind of unnecessary just sat at home and in this case with that crazy jack input angle on the bass Amos has, even without the loop you'd probably snap the male jack shaft before the actual male input jack came out.............
This sounds as if the bass is almost completely natural in sound here (I'm sure it's not considering the gear he runs) and just letting the beauty of that bass alone sing uncolored. I love that different songs have such different tone and/ or characteristics from his bass. Amos is just a fucking master of his craft and I just want MORE!
I just realized that the bass boosted instrumental version of this particular song is superior to the original one. Btw Amos if you are reading this: you and The Tesseract band are my Heroes. Luv ya guys. Keep being The best.
I'm going to guess he's using drop A or drop D cause of his octave shapes. Also nice how that lets you pop on a minor/major third instead of just an octave.
He needed to put in the video a "Fun Fact 2 - Despite being the largest city in the country and its main economic centre, Zurich is not the capital of Switzerlan either".
\m/Metal \m/Gaming The lack of dislike shows at least a great support for the band and a good level of respect for the artist and the quality of the video. The fact you don’t like it is on your behalf, and thinking your judgment is the best makes You, the clown here.
That used to be the case, as it adds a sense of 'reality'. But the piezoelectric pickups add that sound as they work differently to electromagnetic pickups, so I find I don't need to add room sound in. However, there will always be an addition of ambience added. In this case a studio room sound.
Definitely a drop tuning - the octave shapes in the chorus give it away. (He skips a string but stays on the same fret rather than going two frets up). I know Tesseract plays a lot in drop A, so I'm guessing this is either drop A or drop D.
Thanks, one of their guitarist talks about this in an interview where he mentions two tunings, one in A and one B flat...I wasn't sure of the tuning and also the scale length of this Ibanez he uses, looks like a longer scale length to the naked eye, but I'm not sure
Does anyone know what tuning this is supposed to be played in? I only found one Tab in B (Amos uses AEDG on his 5 string, no clue about his 4 strings). Also the tab is clearly flawed if I compare it to this video. I'd love to use this video as a guide but not sure what tuning this is in and my ear isn't very developed yet, so it would take a lot of trial and error to find the right tuning myself.
So Amos, are you unofficially an Ibanez artist? Any chance you'd be playing some EHBs in the future? I own two of the EHB models and they're fantastic.
what? many people think geneva is the capital city of switzerland? i always thought, people think zurich is the capital city of switzerland. which is also wrong.
Feel like this song fits into what the world is facing right now. Human divided by races and the Corona virus brings harms to everyone. We as a human have to work together, bringing this Eden into our world.
That two finger pluck and strum technique is awesome!
His bass sounds like his voice. It's like he sampled himself.
The sound is amazing!
the bass tone in Tesseract is something that happens once in a lifetime. you can't replicate such a legendary tone like Amos has.
This is probably the most gorgeous bass guitar I have ever seen AND heard.
the production quality you’re able to achieve is untouchable. seriously killing it, amos!
Thank you!
This playthrough gave me a whole new appreciation for Eden. Those two-finger strokes are almost addicting to listen to once you know they’re there. Great stuff
i believe for these vids, i'm supposed to slap like now. That bass is a beauty.
This made me appreciate the bass part of this song even more

I may not know a lot about music theory etc but this and seeing other musicians play is simply mesmerizing soothing and soulful to watch
tasty basslines, beautiful soundscape and general knowledge trivia
TesseracT is the most complete band you could ask for!
Eden Play Through - 2012 Jay ✓, 2020 - Amos ✓. Still waiting for Acle and James)
Ahahah, yeah
Привет! Не в курсе, что за строй у него?
what a song!! so emotional and majestic!! AND SLAP THAT BASS!!!
so happy to discover musicians like Amos, such a TASTEFUL way of playing!
I would love Utopia bass playthrough, that song is my absolute fave :)
We have started looking to perform a lot more of the album songs at shows as well as the singles. So maybe yes!
Dude Amos bass is absolutely stunning 😍 🥰🤩 its awesome seeing a playthrough of him but I wonder of we will ever get a guitar play through 😅🤔 this song is so awesome.
The quality of videos these guys put out is always incredible. Mix sounds amazing and refreshed too. Eagerly awaiting an Eden 3.0 over here!
omg.. my favorite song of all times, thank you!
I started using these techniques on bass, and I am loving what all it allows. Thank you, Amos.
...brilliant. Amos, I've sent this to Sonya . Wish I'd seen it last year .
Одна из моих любимых композиций! Прекрасный плотный звук) Замечательное владение инструментом
согласен)
но мне оригинальная версия больше нравится почему-то
Оригинальна, песня огонь!!!
Привет соотечественникам
I honestly loved Elliot on this version
The fact that he doesn't pull his cable through his strap scares me. He has no fear.
Why does it need to pull through his strap? He's sitting down.
What a fucking weird thing to point out.
His bass is an extension of his body. It is connected.

What scares me is how his strings at the tuning pegs are...
@@RQBassist Thanks for the long ass clarification.
Nice, didnt even know this video existed! The various Edens have been favourites of mine for years, and I can learn about Bern too.
Back to roots!!! The first song that I've heard and it's still amazing!!!

amos' timing reminds me of freddy mercury, almost ahead of the beat. This guy is a parallel universe Hugh Grant that came out as a god
I have wanted this for so long. We love you Amos
Whoaa 🔥 So fire
Thank you so much for the processing details in the description!
Amazing. Hope to hear a playthrough of the original song soon! Probably my favorite TesseracT song yet!
Mega cool. Tesseract; some of the best present Rock I ever heard
Best bassist in my opinion!!! And thanks a lot to share detailed settings
Ending is just mind-blowingly sick.
01:00 fingerskateboarding :D

More bass is always nice to see!

AMAZING Amos. You rock. Love it!
Those headphones look killer!
Tightest bass playthrough ever
Amazing as always Amos. Love Eden
literally no one disliked this, beautiful
Instantly knew that you shot this with your Blackmagic. Your video production looks great!
Ear reveal @ 50k subs
it's impossible to say who is the best bassist, but we can say who is the smoothest and sexiest
2:19, quite some trick
i love this!
Oh dear gods. Thank you 🖤🤍
Perfect sound ❤
You guys better be showing up in Bern soon, me and my swiss money are waiting...
Haha! Seriously though, that cafe in Einstein's old house has the best coffee in Bern. What a beautiful city.
I just realized that the bass boosted instrumental version of this particular song is superior to the original one. Btw Amos if you are reading this: you and The Tesseract band are my Heroes. Luv ya guys. Keep being The best.
I need a smoke after watching this ❤
Eden??? Nice!
0 dislikes..... thats the meaning of perfection
Love from India!
I dig it
Very nice Amos, love it 🤙
Amos, you're amazing.
Amos at the top - as usual) Cheers
❤❤❤❤
god that headstock is so weird I love it
Great!!!
Amos's bass playing be lookin like joker in the stair scene, really feeling it

Bb, F, Bb, Eb
@@TesseractOfficial Thanks! Very interesting.
TIL Switzerland has no official capital city, but Bern is the de-facto capital, thanks
He needed to put in the video a "Fun Fact 2 - Despite being the largest city in the country and its main economic centre, Zurich is not the capital of Switzerlan either".
thanks, i didn't knew all of that :D
Many people think, that the capital city of Switzerland is Zurich, which is also not true...
Not a single dislike! Just as it should be!!

Ambient section fun fact is a nice touch! Ha
👍👍👍👌
Killer stuff \m/
I wish Ibanez brought the Ergodyne back. I loved that platform.
🫵🏻🇧🇷✌🏻
nice
Wish they played the original more!
What scale has this Ibanez, and also how is it tuned? Thanks Amos for the inspiring videos man! :)

@@majorminus66 don't you mean drop Ab? most of their stuff is in drop Ab if I'm not mistaken (at least in One)

@@padureancalin8096 The lowest note in the ending is a low B, which he plays on the first fret. So the tuning should be Drop A#.
@@padureancalin8096 It's DADGAD down two whole steps. Bb-F-Bb-Eb-F-Bb-Eb. The A version is the same, just down a half step.
Merry Christmas all

Hi all! What brand / model bass is that? Tis a thing of beauty
Don´t mind, I just want to get a notification if someone answers
Ibanez AFR4FMP
it's an Ibanez AFR, it's a revamp of their 90's model, Affirma. pretty sleek looking :)
Thank you guys!
lol at the Bern facts
Don't get me wrong, I loved this version, but I'd really love to see an Eden original playthrough instead.
analog fkin octaver hell yeah!

Does anyone know what's this bass model?
Am I weird for liking the 1.0 Eden arrangement more?
The description of this video is a tutorial on its own.
Is he no longer with kiesel?

the old tesseract, man.... it still gets to me :,( but man that bass tone is FAT AS FUCK
