In regards to drilling the fender, you should tip it forward and tighten. Not to the back. I mis-spoke, late night and solo cups 🤣
dyne tuning all the way! plus most tuners do not recommend thundermax, they say its old technology , tts or power vision is the preferred tuner

before tuning it, I'd do a slug n jug upgrade... go to 103 cid... and then have your guy do the tuning... I promise the Road Queen will be a very happy camper...

Unless you are changing something that will alter the way it runs, like the cam, bore the cylinders, big jugs (😉) head work, etc. I dont think that a $150/hr dyno tune is justified. Thats $450-$500 bucks when putting a flash tune in your fuel mgmt system will get the job done and you can use the saved money for more bling!!😅😅
Any time you change the amount of air moving through an engine (exhaust and air cleaner) you need to change the amount of fuel to keep the air/fuel ratios correct. Even newer HD ECM's only have narrow band O2 sensors that have very little adjusting capability. Most common problem in not tuning for stage 1 is lean condition which causes heat and damages the pistons, rings and cylinders.
That's why you're the best Andy!

Its smart to be doing bump stops. I have seen damaged fenders due to Harley’s lack of smart design. I love them but, man do they do screw up.

There's always re-work if you want a project build to go right (check fits while parts are coming, etc.). But it's clear, that you two like profeshunul stuff, so get the Road Queen dyno'd 3rd party.
