One thing I've noticed all my years of mechanicing, if you draw blood, it always works. If you don't draw blood then sometimes it doesn't work. Also, sometimes you have to throw the wrench across the garage. Really enjoyed the humor tonight!! Bike is looking great. CHEERS to a build well done.❤
Everything of mine should work really well then....I can draw blood just getting a socket out of the toolbox 😖👍😂

Keep the air breather. It looks awesome and you need a little contrast.
I'd say keep the contrasting air cleaner cover, but I also like the K&N two-port butterfly valve air cleaner. My brother-in-law used to have one on his Yamaha V-Star 650 and it looked good.

Arlen Ness makes one that looks just like it in chrome I am pretty sure (it may be PM or RSD...I know I have seen one). Personally I wouldnt want a vintage air cleaner and a super modern looking horn..LOL. Bike looks FANTASTIC!! Cant wait to see it on the road!

I like the white grips but, after looking at the bars at a 45° angle, I can't help but wonder what a set of chrome wire mesh grips would look like on your bike.

That breather is probably chrome under the black paint, remove a small spot and if it’s not just touch it up no harm no loss.

So here's an idea, put plastic coating around your seat like they did in the fifties on living room furniture, go totally retro, and you can just hose it off incase of an unforeseen grease fight

Just leaving a lil DNA evidence. Those "little" jobs that never go right! (as my bags and windshield are still sitting in my office) I really like the airfilter, but I didn't think I would like ALL that chrome, but it is looking so good with that teal paint. Be safe, have fun.

I would plumb a dump valve in. So one when you park it one flip it drops. Two in case a solenoid opens while parked it wont air up. Thats if you add a center stand cash it has happened.
Yes the American Suspension "trumpet" has a 4 valves and it's fully pneumatic with lock outs. When they are locked it can never air up or down. That's what we are running on this
Chrome is really easy to keep lookin good, polish it good once then protect it with wax, follow up cleanings just wash blow dry and use a good spray detailer.
It's all in the maintenance like you said!

Screamin Eagle chrome billet air cleaner with 7 'spokes' would look very cool on the 'Queen. I built a custom SS rear fender skirt for my RG that emulates the chrome HD badge & shield skirt I have on the front fender, the bottom edge is 3" lower than the fender for a bit of a 'dragger look 😉

Bike looks perdy nice. I had a chrome cover were the rocker switches are on a Ultra classic. Once in a while the sun would be in the right spot and it would reflect in my eyes. Didn't happen often but was very annoying when it did. That is a lot of chrome on that dash, I hope you don't be squinting like staring at the Eagle headlight.

A local chromer should be able to chrome the air cleaner you have without buying another one. Run your old one in the mean time.

I could be wrong, but I think your gas tank is already vented with the tube under the speedo so a vented cap is not required.
