What we generally see or hear from media are fanatics in Bangladesh. However the videos I have been seeing are people from the other side. Very hospitable, helpful and true ambassadors of the country. Very refreshing and proves humanity exists.

Also, we have long history of religious conflict which actually benefitted our politician. We are surrounded by a bunch of good hearted people and a pinch of conservative/extremist people. Everywhere, there are good and bad people. But we all should try to find out good one(s). Then, it'll be fantastic. Because if I say, I'd bad idea about Indian people, but whenever I'd visited in India, that was amazing, specially people's behavior.
For your info: Ganga from Himalay passes through Uttarakhand, UP, Bihar then enters West Bengal. At Maldah splits into two: Bhagirothi which moves towards Kolkata (passing through Murshidabad), the other (stronger) branch flows towards Bohorompur and Jolongi enters into Bangladesh and then it's called Padma (Podda). In fact after Malda there is no more Ganga inside India. The river is called BhagirothI - Hoogly. Usually Murshidabad is called Bhagirothi and Hoogly to Bay of Bengal Hoogly river. In 1972 the Farakka dam was opened which is constructed on Ganga itself and water is deviated and pushed to Hoogly river branch so that Kolkata Port have navigation water. And it causes low flow inside Bangladesh and causes drought during Summer. The bridge you crossed is Hadinge. I don't know how you missed the bridge for motor vehicles which just parallel to the rail bridge and is called Lalon Shah bridge named after a folk singing guru. May be on return you don't miss it. Now Ganga is divided in two branches: one called Bhagirothi and flows through Murshidabad (none still calls it Hoogly river) but it is said that Nawab Siraz was caught in Bihar on the bank of Hoogly river. But in Murshidabad the same river is called Bhagirothi. When this river enters Kolkata it's called as Bhagirothi too. The other branch enters Bangldesh through Baharampur at Jolongi and here it is named as Padma. Well, I can agree that 'lower' Bhagirothi is the same Hoogly river, though at different places the names are at time Bhagirothi at time Hoogly. I repeat, no doubt about the origin of Ganga. In 1972 the Farakka dam was opened which is constructed on Ganga itself and water is deviated and pushed to Hoogly river branch so that Kolkata Port have navigation water. And it causes low flow inside Bangladesh and causes drought during Summer. The bridge you crossed is Hadinge. I don't know how you missed the bridge for motor vehicles which just parallel to the rail bridge and is called Lalon Shah bridge named after a folk singing guru. May be on return you don't miss it.

That's Hooghly river not Bhagirath
Bhagirathi and Alaknanda jointly form Ganga in Devprayag, uttrakhand. Bhagirathi and Alaknanda flows in uttrakhand.
@@NarutoUzumaki-xd4db you are absolutely right sir about Aleksnanda and old Bhagirothi rivers. After Tribeni Sangam Ganga flows until it reaches Farakka, where a barrage has been built. Now Ganga is divided in two branches: one called Bhagirothi and flows through Murshidabad (none still calls it Hoogly river) but it is said that Nawab Siraz was caught in Bihar on the bank of Hoogly river. But in Murshidabad the same river is called Bhagirothi. When this river enters Kolkata it's called as Bhagirothi too.
The other branch enters Bangldesh through Baharampur at Jolongi and here it is named as Padma.
Well, I can agree that 'lower' Bhagirothi is the same Hoogly river, though at different places the names are at time Bhagirothi at time Hoogly.
I repeat, no doubt about the origin of Ganga.

NB! If you search places like Murshidabad, Malda, Baharampur, Hoogly and Kolkata you also can find the rivers and their names. It's true that in West Bengal some worship Bhagirothi as Ganga ( just to have the essence if Holiness).
