  • Virtual Reality can be used for many purposes but to bring the world to the rooms of aged care residents that can no longer explore it, is a beautiful thing. We are proud to release Solis, and aim to change the lives of aged care residents across the world. Although not the first use of virtual reality within Aged Care, Solis is the first of its kind for many ways: a hands free application that interacts with the web to make it a dynamic, ongoing experience.

This may just be a youtube comment but it contains all of my hopes for the future and a reminder of the responsibility we have for each others minds in what we create. Please develop VR to not only be fun in a passive way, but also creative like tilt brush, vast like minecraft, interactive like google video hangouts (video conferencing for anyone), So that not only elderly, but all people can connect with each other once again, anytime, without physical limitation, without timezone, without bounds.. This should be the true purpose of VR.

Mt concern is seeing older people left along the walls with these on - as they are left in front of TVs now. Nothing replaces human engagement.

Christabelle Baranay You have a very good point. NOTHING will replace human physical contact and accompaniment. As long as we can still maintain this, i dont think there is anything with satisfying other mental and emotional needs with VR and internet. An online friend of mine in a wheelchair swears that if it wasn't for google hangouts and her online friends, she'd have gone insane by now. There's deep potential as well as responsibility in VR development.

Hi, nice job! I like how technology can be useful for vulnerable people. Im interested in this proyect, in fact, im working on it in my country, Im from Ecuador. As you can see, its a country that is delayed in technology. Id like to know, how do you make it works? I mean, do you sell those videos, or how is your work based on? Thanks for your attention.

You clearly know nothing about vr. It's used to treat social anxiety, to train doctors, police, and even military units. This is also used to treat soldiers who have ptsd.
