Here's a solution: make a walking house that produces a self building bridge in front of itself. This combines the coolness of a walking house and that of a automatic bridge maker. The house can walk off into the sunset.

Mumbo, with the very useful carpet mod command “/carpet fillupdates false” you can copy-paste flying machines, so you have to build your leg just one time instead of six.

You could put this far in the sky on a Minecraft server and have one of your bridge building-machines create the path for the walking safe house, so that it looks like it's actually walking, and then genuinely live in a walking safe house.
Then equip the bridge builders with tnt launchers, so they dont get stuck on anything while adding to the destruction. That would be so incredible to watch!

Yeah, it needs enough fire power so it doesn't get stopped when it runs into a mountain... or maybe a way to turn directions- I've seen a few flying machines that can change direction in all 4 cardinal directions but never one at this scale and complexity. To bad it looks like sculk sensors aren't going to be pushable. I could see someone figuring out how to turn them into sonar if yo could move them.

I love how a majority of your viewers have absolutely no clue how any redstone components work. I never really expected to be in a minority while watching a redstone youtuber, because i understand all the mechanics. sometimes i do struggle to put them together though

I finally understood it all, then I moved from the ps3 to the ps4 and bedrock mechanics existed. Took everything in my to re understand all the components. Can't wait to go back to Java though, so much more intuitive

I imagine that it would be easy to do it from the vertical limit downward, but what if we could send a flying machine upward, until the vertical limit compacted it into a different configuration, which would then proceed to make the vertical structure?

I was thinking the road in front of this house would need to be flat. Sounds like there needs to be a bridge building machine ahead of the walking safe house... and maybe a tunnel builder if it hits a mountain. Literally unstoppable.
Well, it doesn't actually need a floor to stand on, the legs are purely decorative; but it would need some serious quarrying tech to deal with any mountains it faced

As long as the bottom of the leg doesnt encounter higher terrain, it will keep going forwards.. but as soon as the terrain elevates, it will "crash" into it and stop.. This would be fixed by adding more tnt dupers to the sides, like he did the middle, so it would clear the path and keep going forwards.. at that point it could go really far.. but with the new caves and cliffs.. if it encounters a massive mountain.. well, its screwed.. there wont be enough tnt to clear a hole through the mountain big enough for it to go through.. and if we did add enough to clear that same hole.. theres a high chance it would self destroy before that happened xD

If mumbo can make legs that can go either direction He should make a shop in Hermitcraft season 9 that travels on large train tracks back and forth. And to enter it you would have to do so via a honey platform attached to the side where you press a button and it activates a dispenser with ender pearls in it. You could stop it with obsidian at given points at the end of the track where observers would register the blocks of the shop colliding with the obsidian. This would send a Redstone signal to a piston which pushes some type of block into another observer activator on the safe house which sends in back the other way. it would be rather stylish, and the actual moving shop that the Swagon and G-train never were despite there namesakes. It could perhaps have an attached monocle an top hat in order to seem dapper and a product of "High Society" which I think fits considering that mumbo has expressed a desire to be the richest hermit on Hermitcraft this season.
Always wanted to make a SotC style creature crossing the horizon in one of my Minecraft world's. Although for all my attempts I used command blocks, so it astounds me how much you can do without. And ultimately they flopped, mainly due to lag, but other errors kept cropping up as well. After seeing this though, I may have to give it another shot.
I'm looking forward to a successor to Minecraft where we can one day build machines even more advanced and use them on servers with other people with minimal to no lag. THAT... Would be pristine.
To keep this thing from stopping you need to set it up like a bore machine powered by Withers in front to keep the entire structure moving, similar to a tunnel bore machine.
I remember being so frustrated because I was trying to follow a Mumbo Jumbo redstone tutorial because it was so hard to follow. Well. Many years later I realise I was trying to follow a normal Mumbo Jumbo video that was NOT a tutorial, a video like this one.
A lot of it his videos are him trying to remember how to build things and trying to make cool things, but if you can follow along you can probably learn how to make what he makes, then again, I'm nowhere near his level of genius, but I know a few redstone mechanics. . . I'm still very inept at it though.
I did not think of a "safe house" upon reading the title, and immediately got worried about the implications of all his previous walking house tutorials being possibly unsafe, but fortunately, it wasn't. I was thinking the road in front of this house would need to be flat. Sounds like there needs to be a bridge building machine ahead of the walking safe house... and maybe a tunnel builder if it hits a mountain. Literally unstoppable.
Well, it doesn't actually need a floor to stand on, the legs are purely decorative; but it would need some serious quarrying tech to deal with any mountains it faced

i'd love to see a timelapse of how this thing travels across long distance. does the landscape interfere with the mechanics?
As long as the bottom of the leg doesnt encounter higher terrain, it will keep going forwards.. but as soon as the terrain elevates, it will "crash" into it and stop.. This would be fixed by adding more tnt dupers to the sides, like he did the middle, so it would clear the path and keep going forwards.. at that point it could go really far.. but with the new caves and cliffs.. if it encounters a massive mountain.. well, its screwed.. there wont be enough tnt to clear a hole through the mountain big enough for it to go through.. and if we did add enough to clear that same hole.. theres a high chance it would self destroy before that happened xD

If mumbo can make legs that can go either direction He should make a shop in Hermitcraft season 9 that travels on large train tracks back and forth. And to enter it you would have to do so via a honey platform attached to the side where you press a button and it activates a dispenser with ender pearls in it. You could stop it with obsidian at given points at the end of the track where observers would register the blocks of the shop colliding with the obsidian. This would send a Redstone signal to a piston which pushes some type of block into another observer activator on the safe house which sends in back the other way. it would be rather stylish, and the actual moving shop that the Swagon and G-train never were despite there namesakes. It could perhaps have an attached monocle an top hat in order to seem dapper and a product of "High Society" which I think fits considering that mumbo has expressed a desire to be the richest hermit on Hermitcraft this season.
Always wanted to make a SotC style creature crossing the horizon in one of my Minecraft world's. Although for all my attempts I used command blocks, so it astounds me how much you can do without. And ultimately they flopped, mainly due to lag, but other errors kept cropping up as well. After seeing this though, I may have to give it another shot.

I remember being so frustrated because I was trying to follow a Mumbo Jumbo redstone tutorial because it was so hard to follow. Well. Many years later I realise I was trying to follow a normal Mumbo Jumbo video that was NOT a tutorial, a video like this one.
A lot of it his videos are him trying to remember how to build things and trying to make cool things, but if you can follow along you can probably learn how to make what he makes, then again, I'm nowhere near his level of genius, but I know a few redstone mechanics. . . I'm still very inept at it though.
