So I know it hasn’t been released yet. But just judging from the trailer, Last Defense Academy looks like it’s shaping up to be a more refined and actualized version of Danganronpa S’s combat system.
Hm. 16 students trapped in a school with a mascot, fighting to survive the dangerous situation while the world ends outside... Yep. This is just Danganronpa but with combat instead of trials. RIP Mondo you would've loved kicking alien (?) ass, but they stuck you in a courtroom instead.
Doing a disservice to yourself not playing Rain Code IMO. Sure it's not Danganronpa, but it had a lot of great qualities going for it and its own fun twists that scratch that DR itch.
Raincode is really good, and its basically like if DR1 had a different premise and came out as 3d! If you liked any of the dangan games it's literally made for you, you should totally get into it :]
I guess it's Danganronpa fused with tactics games with maybe a 'War Is Hell' theme, and yeah, hoping for the 'everybody lives' ending. Oh, the WeebyNewz and Machina x Flayon joke. And the tanuki and boar? If only they appear in the game...
I played the Danganronpa series for its murder mysteries and premise. I'm actually not too fond of the lore or the wacky characters. So, I'm not interested in this tower defense, strategy, whatever it is just because it's got the same coat of paint.

They did actually make another game called Rain Code if u wanna check it out. :)
They also made worlds end club, tribe nine is being developed and they made Akudama Drive
apparently they took out big boy loans to make this game so they're kinda banking it all on this game. i hope its good

I say this a lot but the gameplay is closer to Triangle Strategy and Digimon Survive than Fire Emblem, I say this as someone who loves all three

Honestly same I mean I enjoy them but there too me the appetizers/dessert of each chapter and the murder mysteries are the main course.
