I always wanted one as a young teenage lad but they were a bit pricey…. do you know what their power output is in ft lbs by any chance?….. i’m thinking of getting a second hand one to use… if i can find one (where the spring and seals haven’t been abused) i’m not a collector so not bothered about a display box … which would bring the price down a bit…. as long as i can find one that works well…. otherwise it’ll have to be a brand new webley typhoon….the new ones vary greatly in price from seller to seller!!
Do you think £130 is a decent price for a well used Tempest? Do you have any thoughts on the Webley Junior pistol? Looks nice and simple and my gun shop has one for £100? I'm tempted as I had a Tempest way back in the 80s..
TBH, it's the price range I've mostly seen them from £100-130 The junior looks a decent pistil and believe can be in .177 too?? Main difference I can see is the grips and safety or lack of across some of the models? I'm not sure the main spring varies much? I have no idea if the power varies much? This tempest is very consistent at 3 1/2 ft IBS with using a variety of pellets.
Check on how much play there is on the barrel pivot on the tempests side to side play most sub £150 guns are shot to pieces.juniors don't have any rifling in the barrel and shoot are underpowered.
Remember to use the reverse grip when cocking, it helps preserve the mechanism 😊
I can't remember the ft Ibs of the cocking action, 30 odd? Is a bit of an effort with such a small barrel
This has got me thinking, I must dig out my old Scorpions and repair them
I've found it to be super reliable and consistent with power despite its age, quite fun shitting this older style of pistol
Good stuff love the new target too 💪
Thanks, should come in handy

Mine was consistent in power and between 3-3 1/2 ftIbs depending on pellet weight
Great pistol 🔫 👌
Be even better when I learn to aim it straight too
Hi, I have just acquired a Webley junior. What kind of gun oil do you recommend for these beautiful old pistols? Thanks
I used Napier Gun oil

Not sure of the back stop here?
True, but it's a privately owned 5 acres for a Field Target shooting club so it's as safe as it could be?
looks to me like your holding it to tight, try one handed, and loose grip. mine shoots 3/4" groups or less at 6mtr.
The biggest problem being the near / far sighting with the open sights.
Shooting a pistol is far harder than a rifle that's for sure
